  1. Get the # off of the old one and have mack to order some. Those is not a part you can try for awhile to see if its going to keep the wheel on.
  2. Theyb are 1/2" and you will have to get one from ameasurement of some kind then try it on and untill you get proper size. When mismatching parts no one can tell you off top of their head what you need.
  3. And it needs two belts. Not to drive the alter but to drive the water pump and fan.

  6. Oh i forgot to tell you you always spot the timing before you pull the pump that way you dont have to waiy and ask some one. Your not the first one.
  7. You should have checked that before you pulled it. Now you want to pull the rear valve cover and rotate engine untill the exhuat valve closes and the intake just starts to open. This is what you hear them talking about valve over lap. This means # 1 cyl is up and read to fire, so back up maybe 14 turn and start turn in clock wise rotation looking at the front untill the pointer sets at about 26 or 28 degress or what ever you shop manaul is telling you.The timing marks will be on the bottom of the fylwheel veiwed thru a opening in the bottom of the fylwheel housing.Now if you do have a shop manual then it should show you were the timing mark is on the fuel pump and now install and then back up after bolts in front gear is tighte and go in engine ritation slow till the marks line up and they show be were you want them. If you shop manual does not show that throw it away and then i will try some more instructions. glenn
  8. You have to pull the front timing cover off of the front cover and you can see what holds it in there.
  9. Rob if you go that way i know a man that has good 3:88 carriers he wants to change to 4:17 and as for as i know they are good ones.Keep him in mind.
  10. Its got a 170 HP end673 in it. No thermostat, no oil cooler and a 500 luberfinder oil filter with out a full flow.

  13. Steering box will not be in the way but turbo may have to be placed on top. Here is anothe problem. I have seen this done with a cummins in the B 71 but the fan has to be so amall to go in between the rad frame that it is a problem to keep cool. I have a hi HP mack in a B 61 that i installed a fan and clutch from a later model plus i move the cab forward so there would be room for the fan and clutch plus i built a metal shroud for the fan. When pulling hard even withe the fender panels off the fan is almost to loud to think.The fan is not long enough to cool prperly. The fan i have now is a eight blade fan but when the clutch is locked up it roars.I moved cab forward and raised it about four inches so there would be room for the air to pass thru the rad and around the engine and out from under trhe cab and it just does cool enough.That is going to be a problem with a cat engine but dont think it will go in there. Check with a tap from the fire wall to the rad frame and i think the cat is going to be full house.

  20. CCC here in Tulsa built a fleet of trucks back in late 60s for a company here using same frame but the Rmodel cab and hood.
  21. This is for the dnyotard engine brake.It drops the dynotard cyl down engough so it will fill with oil and then cam pushes it up and it will lift more than the cam raises in in normal operation and then it releaves the compression like a jake brake.
  22. Here is another way to look at it. Adjust the pressure plate to get 1/2 space between the brg retainer and the brake disc. Do that first and then set your brake with the linkage adjustment to about 1 inc off of the floor. Then your free thravel is going to be in range if its 1 or 2" from the top.But get the 1/2 spacer first.

  25. First thing to do when adjusting a clutch. Get under truck and adjust the pressure plate instead of adjust the linkage or in your case the cable..Once the free travel is set the pressure plate is all you adjust untill it gets a new clutch.
