  1. My dad told me when i left home to remenber when your at work trying to make some money to feed your family there will be some one watching what you have and trying to figure a way how to steal from you so they want have to work. Kindly like our US goverment and i hate saying that.
  2. It happens some times due to water in fuel and old fuel sitting long periods of time.
  3. Rob i think i see your name on the doors.
  4. You should break a few injector lines and crank and see if the injector pumps fuel out of the bonnets. If not remeove the top of the governor and i think this is a E6 engine. With the top off mash you throdle and then oull stop. You should see the rack moving. If you dont know what the rack is find a mechanic that knows mack engines and if rack no moves you may have a stuck pump.If so you by no means want that engine running untill the injector pump is repaired.
  5. I looked his info up and dont know him and hes 85 years old. There was a red Twin turbo V8 here for years but it had two pipes and had a quad box.I dont know what a 7 speed would be in that year.
  6. Only thing i know of made in the USA is those little white tags that say made in China. That has kelp many guys working. The labor Unions have gotten out of hand is the main reason the products have to be made over the borders.
  7. Keep it another year or so and if it dont get 50 MPG on fuel mileage i have been told the annointed one will make you buy new one.
  8. They tell you it is a system developed to make the driver him self enforce the dot regulations plus take carry of the truck more. All laws broken or all mechanical problems found with the equipment is now marked up against the drivers record thru a point system. I have been told hgow it works but did not pay much attension to it.It is realy made to bring in more money i think but they say the industry will regulate its self after awhile. But sounds like it will pull some drivers off the road to me. The way i understand those points stay with the driver for ever.Say there is a shortage of driver, well not realy cause the boarder crossing is about ready to open up any way so the master has nothen to worry about.
  9. Missinformed people is not helping us.Sports and silly shows that dont have any meaning is more important than our goverment to some. Some people will think its all still doing well out there till some day some one knocks on their door and tells them they have to share their now goverment onwned house with another family and by the way they dont know your lango so you need to go to school to learn their lango.Or find a dry bridge to live under. Then Tiger Woods wasnt that good after all.Or dancing with the stars. Or some more silly junk.
  10. Sounds like a good way to buy a new engine.
  11. Why does some one some were always have to mention snakes?
  12. True story from a Kansas State Highway Patrol officer: I made a traffic stop on an elderly lady the other day for speeding On U.S. 166 Eastbound at Mile Marker 73 just East of SedanKS. I asked for her driver's licenseregistrationand proof of insurance. The lady took out the required information and handed it to me. In with the cards I was somewhat surprised (due to her advanced age) To see she had a conceal carry permit. I looked at her and ask if She had a weapon in her possession at this time. She responded that she indeed had a .45 automatic in her glove box. Something---body languageor the way she said it---made me want To ask if she had any other firearms. She did admit to also having A 9mm Glock in her center console. Now I had to ask one more Time if that was all. She responded once again that she did have Just one morea .38 special in her purse. I then asked her what Was she so afraid of. She looked me right in the eye and said"Not a damn thing!"
  13. The more this is made public the better change we have being free one more year.I think the republican congress is begin to hear us.This very stuff here that their trying to do to us is the reason the rest of the world is uprising against their crooked goverment.Greedy crooks in the white house needs to have to work like the rest of us. I would like to see some of them out here in the morning laying asphalt while their boss is on them for moving too slow.
  14. I also see it has the 500 luberfiner oil filter meaning it is a maybe 1960 or older block. It may have been a glider kit.
  15. I suspect that is a older engine than the truck is. I see it does not have the twin P intake manifold as well s no oil cooler and a generator.
  16. maybe the rest of the brakes ant holding and you may need to put more air on the lift axle bags.
  17. And Rob dont forget they voted for change. Life may be getting ready to get harder on them i am afraid.
  18. It had a brg failure is what i understand so it was run long time to wear the crank bad enough to have to grind it. That means the crsnk surface has been hot so that changes the rockwell hardness and there is a place for it to break if it does. The metal from the old brg will be picked up by the oil pump and pumped thru the lub system even tho the filter should catch the metal but it may not and good way to find out is pull the rest of the brg and see if they dont have some streaks in them from metal running thru them. The reason i have said anything is i have seen this dream tryed many times and the second go around ant nice. If it spins a main brg the next time due to metal in the system then it could cause you to lose the block. In 01 DD 60S engine had a piston problem of debonding and it came apart and would break the liner and head as well in many cases blow side of block out. Under waranty DD would say replace the liner head and clean the system. If the metal in the pan was in large chunks things could be cleaned but if the driver drove the truck for a long time after the piston came apart the liner would be ground into small shavings. You could wash the system over and over and change the oil cooler which they did not want to do and still you could exspect a brg failure some time later. Then it gets a new engine.Arrow trucking here that went out of bussiness a couple years ago had their own wrecker and one driver hauling around the clock for maybe one year these trucks back home untill the last batch of trucks was repair or engine replace due to metal in the oil or a piston debonding and venting the block. I under stand trying to keep from replacing the crank so keep us informed on what happens.
  19. There was a man here years ago that who grind rod jouranls in the engine. Never saw him grind a mack but many cummins and non who last more than a few months and who break the crank. Mack and i know cat is different but for years if a cummins spung a rod brg it was over with for that crank. The metal was too hard after the failure. On yours what was the cause of being out of round? Also what are you going to do with the metal cuttings. There is no way to keep them out of the engine and also if the engine has had a brg failure the engine is loaded with the metal. The galley will have metal in it till it is vatted. The oil cooler is loaded and needs at the lest pulled and cleaned but maybe replaced. The oil pump has pumped metal also and it now has wear on it as well as the relief plungers may have metal hanging them open.Sounds like you may be building a time bomb. But good luck with it.
  20. Think about this for a bit. Its not gears slipping.Gears dont slip and then stop slipping. If a gear slipped it would have tolded you by now. So that neans its not in the trans or rear ends. That leaves the clutch so that was real simple to firgure. Mant times when a clutch slips its at high rpm or at the engines peek torque out put.Becuse you have not adjusted it does not mean that the springs have not weakened or the disc has not glased over with grease and if its a two plate there could have had one disc strip the spline or sear the rivets in the hub and this then makes it a single plate which could reduct its grip.Look in the bottom of the clutch open or flywheel housing for springs or metal and then let us know. A magnet is a good way to find metal in the housing.Back to the gears slipping. Gears have teeth and they dont slip with out shearing them for ever.A power divder is driven with teeth on gears.
  21. Our sunday shool teacher told us for years about this time and now its here. The end times. Its now Gods will that this happens but God knew what fags and some of our political parties would do in the end and now it is here.I will not point my finger at the party thats killing us cause you guys are smating enough to know whats happening and the next few days is going to tell more how long we are here.Or at lest under a Democratic goverment. This president is trying hard as he can to ruin this nation. If that pisses any one off call me. Call me any thing you want as long as it saves this nation i will not care. This is not a domes day story but i beleive to be true.
  22. Been gouging on it too hard.
  23. Rob delete works for me, you been drinking again?
  24. Another factor on what trans to use with a mack engine is if its a maxidyne or not. I would wish for a 13 myself but put one of them behind a real maxidyne and your going to be sick. My old Bmodel camper was a maxidyne in real live and i put a 10 speed in it and a aux behind it just for the o/d.Bid gas burn o/d. I in the end had to have the pump reset for a low torqe rise setting. Before after you down shifted from 10 to 9 gear under power at maybe 1700 there was nothen not even a hint of smoke or torque because they dont power up till 1200. After a talk with the pump shop he knew what i whated. Now its power at hi rpm but will not pull so good at low rpm.big trade off when your dealing with springs and weights but thats the way they work.If in your case the 13 speed was already there you want have a problem. Stay with the 13. I wish for a RTLO 16713 or a 12 mack with o/d.
