  2. Here at home i have a 8000lb fork lift in my shop and i could not do with out it.I have made a few different atachments for the forks and i have pulled many engines and some was cat engines.
  3. joey we use a hoist and started with block up side down then layed the crank. And rolled it to its side and by the time it was standing up right it was built.I always set them on the floor to set heads on and to torque and by that time the pan was on it.We had a stand at the freightliner dearer years ago but problem was it takes too many different adapters for different engines so last time i saw it was in the scrape.I like it for 8V DD engines or any V8.I no see them any more.
  4. Joey i used a engine stand back in the early 70s but after that i and all of us used a steel table and to me its almost as good. The table will fit all engines and can be used for trans and rear ends also.
  5. You should be getting alot of oil out of the rocker box with jakes off.It should spray about 6 feet up so look down on the block and see if the paint is discolored at that cam brg.It may have a cam brg bad.
  6. I cant help you on this cause i have not had much dealings with the etech.I can remember three trucks i have worked on with that engine.
  7. I have always went with the ideal of more than 2 degrees of timing is too much.Another way to look at it is would you use someones Specs over the factory which has to stand behind the engine for years and has built many more than any of us.
  8. Depends on what trans you have. For a eaton or roadranger use a 50W engine oil and for a mack trans use a 90W rear end grease or multipurpose'The eaton will hold from 29 to 31 pints.
  9. 5 degree difference is too close.Go 10 degrees higher on the shutter and look at it this way.If they are same or too close your shutter will stay open too long or all the time then you engine is trying to heat the engine and all of the time your fan is trying to cool what your engine is trying to do so in the end your just trying to heat up the world. go a min
  10. what you need to do is get some one with a reader plug in and go down the road with it and watch and see if you loose the VSS signal.

  15. It may not be fueling or in a Derate mode due to no VSS signal.
  16. 175 may be hard to find because that is a little cold for the shutters to open.I would want the thermostat to be 175 or 180 and the shutters to open at 185 to 190.
  17. Welcome to the forum. There is a lot of info here so set down and stay with us.
  18. The flat side down but you who have found out when installing trans cause the fingers on the release fork would not went over the brg. Also put the grease hose on the trans side of the clutch fork shaft and not on the flywheel side.
  19. I have made them for cat, cummins and DD but have not for a mack cooler.I learned many years ago when you can test dont guess.
  20. 20 to 25 psi
  21. To find the coolant leak on the oil you need to pull the pan and pressure the coolant system and let set till coolant leaks from inside on to the floor.
  22. If you run it with coolant in the oil it with spin main brgs and rod brgs. You better rethink this over real well.It will not last long. When a rod or main spins it a block and crank for sure.
  23. They were all 672 CI untill the E7
