  1. You need to back them off and retighten to gain any thing if any.Per macks old repair procedure.
  2. Also if the fan is running at idle it cools the engine in two ways. One is it cools the coolant and another way is it blowing cold air across the outside of the engine.
  3. And also retorquing the head bolts sure will not hurt anything but i do not.The engine i am running i did not but did rerun the valves. The old engines i started out working on has a fiber head gasket so a retorque after a week was needed. But the newer engines like a e6 or e7 has a metal fire ring holding compression only.Same way as a cat or cummins. But as i said it will not hurt anything. On the old end 673 we would back off each bolt one at a time and retorqued and you would see there was the nut would advance some before the torque value was reached.I have never seen that with a fire ring.
  4. And remember it could have a leak some were but all engines i ever overhaul i told them same than
  5. If it dont throw a check engine light on i would run it
  6. This is the liberal goal to break america
  7. I am looking now at my 96/97 tune up manual and it say for a E7 350 static timing is 5 degrees and 22 with the econovance in advance
  8. I have the timing light myself but there is another tool that is cheaper.I used it for a few years before getting the light. On a 5.9 cummins or 8.3 cummins that use the P7100 pump there is a forked adapter that is used.It is plastic and you can shear it if you move the pump when its in the hole checking the timing spade. The last one i bought which was maybe 15 years ago was about 70.00
  9. The latter E6 pump will mount because its a robert bosch pump but the E6 ambac pump will not bolt up and it needs a pump drive
  10. The oil pressure sensor is located on top of the oil filter.
  11. 855 cummins did not use a seal on the valves untill the N14.
  12. All i remember from mack was a o.ring under the little hat.The seals could be found thru after market parts.
  13. Also i have wonder about keeping the econovance on and unpluging the solenoid and keepng oil pressure to the econovance and timing the pump to the retard side of the advance.
  14. I have a E7VMAC engine that i installed a E6 pump on it.I took The econvance off and and installed the pump to the block and you will need to use the E6 injector lines.
  15. If the piston scored then look at the piston cooler also
  16. You will get almost the same braking power if when you start down a hill just roll the window up and open both doors.
  17. The 18 bolt with the 3/4 in the corner was on the first engine and then came along the 20 5/8 stud.I worked for mack in those years.
  18. We are going to lose our country rear fast.It burns me to see this and one way is we all have lost kin folks in war defending this very thing and now some evil devil driven people want more money than they have already have stolen from us.
  19. I wish you would find out more about this because a few of us have been doing it wrong for years.
  20. Hello Rob
  21. Whats is wrong with talking about cake and ice cream some times?
  22. E7is metric
  23. I was working for mack when the 20 stud block was changed from studs to cap screws. The best i can remember was same block was used on the first maxidyne which used cap screws plus the different liner that used the fire ring head gasket and a groove in the head.So check the cap screws out for a replacement for studs. The first ENDT 673C used studs
  24. And dont cut the old wear ring off with a chisel
