  1. I have been around macks since 1965 and i have found that they used a lot of engineering and did their home work.I hate seeing this going to waste.
  2. Is this engine common rail injection?
  3. Dont drop the oil feed tube.
  4. Rob as for as the compressor goes first if its got a dryer then pinch off the signal line to the dryer and if its better then its the purge valve on the dryer. If not then get you a field service kit and replace the unloader in the comp. Its on top and easy to do.On the noise i would take the belts off and run it and see if its not a brg in the water pump or alter. Also it its got a jake brake look at the flat return springs in the jake heads. If your hearing it more in a hard pull then think of a broken head bolt or blowed head gasket.
  5. Some mounts are different but some are same.
  6. And also if the gears would hold up then the input shaft would be the next weak link.It has a hole bored thru it for the oil pump.
  7. I crack a manifold myself but it was cause i hit a low place in the road were water was standing.
  8. How would you go about doing that and were would you get them?
  9. They may be same thing but how would any one know.Me and my self never try to cut corners on front end related parts. There is so much knock off parts out there that i am afraid to take a chance.I remenber working at the freightliner dealer and ever once in a while you would get a recall on tie rod ends that they would replace because of a hardness problem.
  10. We also did another superliner change over which it was a VMAC 2 from a RD.and we used the E6 pump and install on the E7.We had to buy a drive gear for the E7 RB fuel pump Then we set the rack out as far as we could and install over size injectors. It is now a 2150 rpm E7.
  11. I did one that way.You may need to use the E6 exhaust manifold.
  12. Put some fuel on it Larry and your boost will come up some.

  15. I went to mack and my freind who works in parts give me the parts break down with part nunbers.I was thinking some one had turned something around in one of mine and it helped me out.
  16. Drivers years back was not as big as now.
  17. But as always for one that is jumping out of gear lift the stick up and check for a weak poppet spring on that rail.Maybe you need to replace that spring and try it before you pull trans.
