  1. If you have never drilled broken bolts out than dont start on this.This can be done but dont use one of the cheap easy outs.For the price of a block it would be good for you to get some one who has done this.
  2. At one time most gears had the teeth count on the end of the pinion.

That is the proper way to set it but for years i would shim and drive till i got only small amount of smoke when you mash on it.I like to set them in the winter with light smoke and that way next summer they dont smoke too much.When you get use to it not smoking then you will notice your oil gets more miles on it before a change. If any one needs a Ambac pump for a 4 valve 350 HP i have one and injectors which was exchanged with mack 5 years ago with maybe 200000 miles on it for sale. It is still set to specs and then went down so i took it off and saved it.1200.00

  12. And on my superliner i bought one end which was perfect fit and a divider for dividing the tank so i could put oil in one end.The divider was a perfect snug fit for the tank i had.I amhappy with their services.
  13. Rob on the Ch i had a tank built for oil and fuel and they had the mack ends in stock.He told me they have them built to the manufactors specs.I was impressed with their work.Plus they have many differnt size ports and breathers that can be installed when built.

  15. I just bought one of those stands like your talking about.Its built from heavy steel.The mounting bolt are 1".I have not installed my yet.i think it will out last the truck.

  17. Put it in the air tank supply or on the parking brake valve.Its the supply line to the reverse relay valve the puff limiter.If you dont connect it up the puff limiter will not work and it will smoke on gear chains or taking off.
  18. The 9000 was the one you could see the engine but your arms was not long enough to work on it.
  19. How can you tell if its spinning or not?
  20. If you dont have air from the truck going to the reverse relay valve on the intake manifold then the puff limiter is not whats holding you back.If its that way then check for full throttle.

  22. That is true .I worked on them untill they converted over into the C12.Then they had alot of problems.
  23. What he said plus another thing bad about it is when you replaced the piston and liners and pulled the spacer plate you have to pull the rad out to get the cam out.
  24. I have seen a few back in the mid sixtys.I worked for a mack dealer and the parts man told me that a shipment of APE pumps was lost at sea on its way to the USA and mack found these and used for a short time.
