  1. Or scored relieve plunger in the pump.It would help if you told us what oil filter it has.A photo would help of the left side of the engine.does the oil filter have two oil lines or three lines?
  2. I hope you have repaired it but let me say the ride height is not what looks good but what the shop manual calls for.Good luck
  3. Late model B models did have breakers.
  4. This page and page could have a V belt pulley installed in place of the spacers between the wheels and a V belt installed to give you a twin screw drive.
  5. If the ride height is not right there can be a virbration in the drive line and most of the time you don't notice it.This can cause the hi/low clutchs as well as any of the gears to wear faster. Also so make sure you have enough air pressure to the trans. It should be close to 120 psi.
  6. Make sure your air ride if its air ride height is right and another thing to remember is shift down on the range at low speeds as you can. When you up shift shift from 4th low hole to 1st hi and on down shifts from 1st hi to 4th low. This lets the range to shift at a lower speed.
  7. Will you sell the one in the center? And how much for it?
  8. They are like any trans, you want know till its tore down.
  9. You may have to bend the stick for the ch.Find a ch and look at it first and get a plan together
  10. Now they will call you shine man
  11. I would put a shifter in from a CH which has a rubber isolator built in the stick and is so much quitter and smoother to shift.
  12. We have a spring shop that will straighten most bent housing and the way they do it is leave the wheels on the housing and they will move it the way it needs to be bent.I would think most large city have same thing.
  13. Hope this is not too late but you have to pull rear valve cover.Turn engine and watch # 6 valve over lap.As you turn engine the exhaust valve will close and as it closes the intake will start to open and stop there. That is valve overlap on # 6 and it means 3 1 is up and ready to fire. Now then look on bottome of the flywheel housing for a opening with atiming pointer in it.The flywheel have degree marks there so you will need to back the engine backwards some then start coming forward in engine rotation till the timing pointer lines up with 28 degrees on the flywheel.Pull pump.
  14. If its a 88 it may have the LDA (afc) diaphragm on the top of the governor which it gets boost to get full rack.Pump it up to 25 psi with a hand pump to see if its leaking.
  15. Easy way to check for a bent housing is jack both wheels up and paint a strip around the center of each tire as some one turns it then as its turning scrip a line in the center as its turning. Now with a measuring tape check across to other wheel the toe/in.The measure across to other wheel the top and bottom like you did the top/in.This will tell you if its bent up or down.Any difference will show if bent.
  16. I saw a truck towed by a guy that should have stayed home and he did not remove axles or drive line.He towed it 70 miles and when the truck came in on the hook the owner was standing there. The owner called me over there and said watch this.He could spit on the trans case and it would spit back at him.It was very hot.
  17. If you get the right liner puller they will come out.About the welding deal if you try that make sure to cover the crank.I have seen some one do that and let ding berries get in the oil hole of the crank.
  18. Many trucks have a single drive with a tag but most are set up with a 40/60 weight ratio plus the single axle carrier is not the same as a rear from a tandem drive.
  19. Forget the alummin ideal for a cover on the rear housing because the carrier bolted in there is the housings strength.I have seen many carriers loosen the mounting bolts from the movement of the housing flexing and grease leaking. Also you will now be put full torque thru one ring and pinion where two was designed to carry the power. But I have seen a lot of guys do this with out problems but for 800 lbs I would not take the chance. And I am no expert but have read a lot of books on trucks.
  20. Don't forget not ever one knows how to adj brakes so if all brakes are backed off then it takes much air to fill the chambers.
  21. I ant seen nothing like that.Is the one with the studs in it the upper pad?
  22. If it is Easton then a locking rear can be put in place of yours.
  23. I don't like caps myself cause too much damage from them but I think its all in who puts the caps on and most of all what they put them on.Some of these guys will cap anything.
  24. The threaded tube should be in there because it goes down to oil pump and comes up and blocks the oil galley so it will not let oil go down the galley before being filtered.Oil comes thru that tube into the full flow oil filter which returns it to the oil galley thru the two oil in the block beside the threaded tube. You better do as been told and pull cam and check the bushings. Also show us a photo of the oil filter and hoses from the filter to block.
