and I just took off a pair of straights because of the noise.

They were a partial/flow by/pass and was need on old engines. But newer engines do not need them.But it would help keep the oil cleaner if you used one.Better than that a spinner 2 is better than the luber finer.The newer engines have better filters than older engines.Alot of the mack engines used a filter like the spinner 2 which is call centimax along side of the two full flow filters.These are a centerfuge spinner.

That is a truck driver myth.at least since the early 60 I know mack engines we rated at the flywheel.If you think about it a injection pump id how the HP is set and if the HP was set at the wheels the pump rebuilders would have to set the pumps on the engine when being dnynoed.I have hrard this all of my working days and it started on the road over the CB.

That is what I always tought that was breaking them and that was over torqueing.

Let me tell you about the E7 mechanical.If it is a Em7 it is a maxidyn and goes good with a 6 speed but if it is a E7 it is good for a 9 or 10 speed.The maxidyne can be changed over by a fuel pump builder.If it is a 300 just set the fuel out about .090 and time to 16 to 18 degress BTDC.The engine that I run is a replacement for E6.It was a 300 but I had the pump cal to 350 and timed it from 9 degress to 18 using a turbo from a Vmac 400.it is set to 1900 max but needs to to run from 1100 to 1700 for best fuel burn.It will pull down lower than the E6 and still run smooth.If you time it to specs which is 9 degress for a 95 year engine It will pull down as low as a gas burner but will burn more fuel.Some one has done stated that they have more grunt than a E6 and that is caus.e it has a 1/2" more crank stroke

As a dump truck I don't think they who hold up long as many flats we have plus they who not have the clamping force as steel.after the chrome starts peeling from the tire man hammering on them you who have to say something to him about it. Then the next flat you need repaired he who let you set all day before he helps you.

Let me run this by you. I work with a Russian friend that has a 01 350 that was doing same thing. He did not ask for any help or advice from anyone cause don't know English so good but took it to many independent shops hear for repairs. About six shop over a 8 month time and some could tell him what it need like we do here over the phone and he invested about 7500 dollars in it from injectors to unit pumps and sensors but no help. He took it to the dealer and they replaced the ecm and no help. I think he told me they put his old one back on.They told him that was all that had not been replaced and that had to be the problem. He and his son one day said if they plug the header in even in the summer it will start and start all day after that.So he got the ideal that it may be low voltage to the ecm so he replaced batterys. first with no help and then the starter next. its started ever since after that.And some call him stupid at work. I feel ashame that I didn't take time to help but cause if it had been a cat cummins or DD I would have checked that first and should have had a low volt code.I do not know mack electronics but they shuld have a low volt code also.check it out.

Those bolts your talking about should be body bound. I started to work for mack in 65 and they were same in old trucks that were 15 years old then.But that is what keeps things tight.

for dye that I use in fuel I get from cummins and it is for using in oil but will work on fuel and have used for years.No special tools need to pull E7 injectors.

I just last Friday repair a E7 for fuel in the oil.We run it on some fuel with dye in it and then pulled valve covers and black lighted it.[t was injector o/rings leaking up and into the oil.

To test it back off in a mud hole.

Mike I broke a wrist 3 weeks ago but that at nothen to what you have been up to.Doc told me fri to get some therapy on mt arm as he was pulling the staples out so I said I will.I plan on dump trucking tomorrow.Sat I tried the driving out so don't plan on using the left hand any for a few weeks.
