  1. I talk with Rob last nigh for awhile and he is too busy to do any extra. He has a mack hes doing the engine on and sounds happy as i would like to see any one. Yes i was sorry to see him move on.
  2. I ha a Datsun pickup years back that would ice the carb and choke down. when i found out what was happeing i found some one had removed the heat muff from the exhaust manifold to the aircleaner. I put one on it and problem fixed.Mike i ha a cessan that stopped runing with me and i know it was crb ice cause i didnt pull the heat. It was on final and no power on at 70degree temp but humid air.I had no problem putting it on the gtound but found that it was only wind milling after i added power.luck have it it was on the run way by then.
  3. just like a airplane engine it can frezze at 70 degress if the air has enough moisture in it.
  4. The hand primer is still for sale. You may have to find a pump shop that repairs bosch pumps. But replace it and get a repair kit for the transfere pump which will be new check vales and springs.Also pull the over flow valve or some call it pressure reulator and others call it check valve. Its the tee looking valve on the side of the injection pump that has the return line connected to it that goes to the tank.Pull it apart and see if the plunger is bad or replace the valve.This is a go start but any fuel line or fuel filter leaking can draw air in to system and drop the fuel back to the tank over night.
  5. I can get when on sale at the truck dealers for 198.00 exchange.Call freightliner and KW in KC and see should be same but that is with a core.

  7. Pull fuel pump and send to fuel shop. Its the governor worn out or a sticking rack.
  8. There is a hose store here that sells it and for a three fott section i think it was maybe 12.00dollars.You city will have a hose store also but incase you cant find it pm me and i will give you their # glenn
  9. If there is a spring behind the nut then it would be a pressure protection valve
  10. Just because it will turn full rpm dont mean its getting full rack or full throdle.To check it do so with dead engine and mash it down and have some one see if they can advance the throttle lever any more to go fast. glenn
  11. I think i heard some one say that windshields was no longer to be found for a F model. That truck has been inside most of its life i think.
  12. To check that diaphram use a hand air pump with a gauge on it and connect to the fitting on the housing. Pump up about 25 psi and it should hold the pressure. Also mash you throttle down and make sure it moves the pump lever all the way to go fast. Make sure the stop cable is not holding it in slow postion.

  19. So no one misunderstands the 2V block is different than the 4V block. The engines up to a E7 will be all same cubic inche. That would be 672 and that is from a 4 7/8 bore.Your dad is probably like me and has only seen the worst of them but the truth of it is they have no more cam problems than any other engine unless you are talking about the 2002 and 3and 4 engines.I think the 4 V came out in 84 or 85. But if a 88 had a 2V it may have been put in after the fact.I have a 85 4V and a 86 4V

  23. Thats the plan is take care of the UAW and i hear all old trucks and cars will be done away with in two to four years and then i guess the replacement will have to be built by the union workers. glen
