  1. Back in the mid sixtys we did turbo many trying to get the smoke down and some more power. Just dont turn fuel up more than two threads.Take out the smoke screw in the nose of the rack cam and remove the synchrovance which is a timing advance and install a direck drive and time to a ENDT673.Use a turbo and manifold from a early 237 maxidyne.Or if you can find a ENDT 205 turbo. The engines was turboed from factory from as early as 1959 that i know and many turbos then was water cooled. It may need a larger air cleaner. The end 475 and 465 i have seen but dont remenber much about them now.
  2. If you had it put in by some one then take it back. But to start with i can tell you there is many things to check. First check full throdle on the linkage and go from there and check the fuel pressure and then on to the fuel pump timing and then check the air /air cooler and piping with the piping connected to the engine with 25 psi.If the cam timing is in dought then get a shop manual and there will be a way in there telling you how to check the cam timing. On that engine you have a air line fron the intake manifold over to the top of the governor connecting to the AFC so make sure its is connected and that is on a P7100 or 8600 pump only. The amco pump will have a puff limiter on the front with a line connecting it to a reversing relay on the intake so check that line outy.
  3. I would put dye in fuel and run it for a few min under a load a then pull covers and black light the injectors for fuel.
  4. Be carefull in your thinking cause you may need more HP for speed.
  5. Like been stated us no sealer on gaskets. Some guys think sealers will hold better but no.
  6. With all that info you should not have any problems.
  7. Yes you can install a jake on that cam.
  8. That makes sense
  9. Yes it does. Its call a AFC
  10. Thatb is because the exhaust ram on the cam has a low area ground lower than the rest so if you have a dynatard brake on it it will activate the hyd cylinder.
  11. Heres another question, why does leroy get to ride in the sleeper so much?
  12. No that stupid and dumb.
  13. Well stated glenn
  14. I would not do it cause that engine is doing about all it can do safely. They have enough trouble with out trying to get more from them.
  15. If its a 707 engine i am sure the pump from a end 672 673 707 will be same.I have been in those engine but been 45 years and still remenber that it look same as a diesel inside.
  16. Yes it will get hars to pump bvut i was thinging it will not get hard like a cat fuel primer. Sorry for the mis info.
  17. The hand primer if its got one is on the side 2/3 way up and mounted on supply pump. It will never get hard to pump but will heard fuel returning to tank. You can crank it and it should start but if not crank maybe 3 injector lines on pump and crank till fuel flows out.Filters need to be full..
  18. They came outb in 1965. also what Bollwevil said. And you can put a 1 7/8 or 2" input shaft pull or push in it.Thr first one was a RT 909 the the 9509 which was only difference was one had a hollow shaft and the other one had a solid main shaft.
  19. I and most mchanics i know use a 3/4 shocket that will just go thru th bore of the housing and push th stat in and i have done a few in my time and never messed one up.Cummins and cat same size and same way.
  20. The difference in the blocks is the 927 had 6 bolts holding the oil cooler to the block and the 250 855 had 5 bolts hanging the oil cooler.
  21. Easy there he is only dreaming. I dream to do you?He can look at the engine and tell no way its going in the cab. Thats like a hand the other day saying he was going to install 1693 cat in his ford pick up and was asking us what we tough albout it. I told him if the ford pick up would haul it home he could start to do some measuring and go from there. He didnt even have a ford pick up in the first place. glenn
  22. Fogot to say many of the N927 was rated at 270 HP
