BARN FIND !!!..we have for sale a 1950 mack model a truck...decent restoration truck-very solid!..gas motor and std trans-4spd..4th is direct gear....9x20 tires....would make a solid resto project-ran good when parked..$1,895 http://hartford.back...or-sale/5001000 http://www.leveilles.com/ 1983 MACK CAB-OVER, 1983 Mack Cruiseliner, cabover sleeper, 300hp, 10 speed, runs great, tires 75%, $9,000, http://www.commercia...-OVER-106140606 DESCRIPTION: I fully restored and overhauled this 1979 Mack F model. Nothing went untouched. I started my career in trucking in 1970 with my first Mack truck, a 1964 B Model. Since then I have owned only 1 truck that wasn't a Mack. At the height of my trucking career, I owned 9 Mack trucks and 22 trailers. All of the work and upkeep of the trucks throughout the years was done by me, so I would say I have a vast knowledge of the Mack truck. I completely restored this 1979 Mack F Model in the late 90's. The restoration was a huge undertaking, which took about 2 years and a lot of money. It has a 676 Diesel Engine, a single stick 5-speed transmission. A 417 ratio (rear), power steering, as well as a custom roll and pleat beige interior. I painted the truck a beautiful bright red, which cannot be mistaken. It has Three Axles with 22.5 inch hub tires. The truck will run about 70mph and about 2150rpm’s. The truck runs beautifully with no problems, and since the restoration there have only been 5 miles put on the vehicle. The prime condition of the truck makes it a must have. It would be a great addition to anyone, and still is the "workhorse of Mack’s." The truck is in great condition, partly because for the last several years, since the restoration, it has been in an automobile museum in Appomattox, VA. Location Darlington Heights, VA 23958, which is right outside of Farmville. The truck is available for pickup PRICE $30,000.00. http://www.henryequi...03/Details.aspx
  4. I think you are looking for unit itself ,,,,,,,the dimensions are ruffly 4" by 7" with a black rounded tube They were still used by Mack even in the late 90's for the RW and RD as an option . They were also popular with many manufactures in the 70's and 80's before air power lift tracks
  5. I also was thinking it was Arans,,, but his specs are different http://www.tbg-truckbuyersguide.com/details-truck.asp?id=4403
  6. I tend to keep up what commodities are doing and its not good for coal with the flood of natural gas around the world and the green money thrown at the coal generation plants to convert to natural gas. It happened locally with a small 40 year old coal fired plant locally now ruining gas,,I would say that eliminated 30 steady trucking delivery jobs alone and the other jobs that had to handle and process the coal to use. Also the combination of weaker-than-expected demand from the world's two largest coal-consuming nations ,(Mostly china )and mild winter weather and excess global supply has pulled the benchmark price of thermal coal, burned to generate electricity, down by more than 20% since the start of the year. Prices are now so low that the highest-cost producers are losing money. Natural gas is not any better,, being profitable today, because of the glut in the world market Patriot is in the top ten producer ,,Peabody being #1 http://www.patriotcoal.com/ the equipment that has been flooding the market is part of patriot coal restructuring http://www.reuters.c...E86816620120709

  13. Check the intake temp sensor plug,, this will also engage the fan. You say it happens when you are in the throttle could be a cracked cooler not getting the intake air cool enough......I think that sensor is set at 300deg
  14. Posted this link a few years ago,,,,,,, It said it was sold ..the price was $39,500 http://www.bigmacktr...__20#entry31516
  15. In the 80s many of us where putting 13spd's with the 3.65s and 3.87s to help torque load on the bullgear and the 2 step overdrive help with the 300 stay in the power band with this tall of a rear........but back then first and reverse where not very low for take off on a hill and Mack didn't have a two step overdrive then.. Mack does have a nice one now...... look at a 3113LR21 If you had 4.42s or 4.64s the Mack or Fuller 8spd would be good combo
  16. One up in the Wilkes-Barre area PM sent

  19. This engine runs 1050rpm's to 1750rpm's (It is gutless) the 7spd goes from 1:1 to .60 overdrive you most likly have 5.02 rear,, but will not help when you shift to high gear look at it this way you now know what we had to deal with years ago with a 237 and 5spd on a long hill
  20. Dave, take a ride to White Haven,,,,,1 mile in from rt80 on sr437 on the left side across from the Napa store. They have a green one with a 370 ,,10spd and a J&J Dynahauler body that came from Allentown also. Maybe when your up there,,,,you may catch Savage they run allot of CHN's for your other collections.
  21. There is two sets of mounting holes in the seat base or and in floor,, Mack did this to keep the seat from wearing a hole in the back panel,,,they mite have put new seat in the forward mounting holes Or someone slid the steering wheel (adjusted) closer....
  22. Dave said.... Here are a few I've caught. The first two are the same truck, this guy has 3 of them, one identical to this one, and one with a Bibeau body, all are red. Dave Yes Joe and Bob (J&R) has three,,, all 427's, two with 10spd multi reverse and 4.42's they came from Allentown and the one with the bibeau body came from Scranton and has a 13spd and 4.17s Just so you know in case you go and make them an offer on one of them
  23. The E7 and E9 is Mack and Renault working together...But Alot more Renault ,,Mack needed the push into the 21 century,,Mack had a V8 2 valve that was killing them and they had the 6 cyl 2 valve that was stuck at 315hp The E7 (Not sure of e-teck)..... you will find the Renault Diamond (casting) on the block only, and many turbo's Mack uses has the Diamond casting The boldest statement from Renault was casting RENAULT in the aluminum bell housing of the E7.. The E9,, the heads share Mack casting and Renault casting Diamond
  24. Mike,,,,,, Have you talked to Art Cooper over at H&K He should be able to steer you in the right direction.....Just dont let Art do it or it will come back GREEN
