If the exhaust blades are being chewed up it may be the exhaust manifold (rusting) deteriorating on the inside and flaking off,,,,,killing the blades
-
I think there is pipe plugs under the valve covers to the water jacket,,,,,, that may be where the water is getting in the oil.

Ste-Foy had that truck,,, Company is AJM TRANSPORT Inc http://www.mackstefoy.com/fr/default.asp?nouvelle=true&IDM=1

Mine is 14 years old still can do your morning shave in it ,,,,,,,just stay away from acid and little buffing in the spring and your good to go That body looks to be a J&J body ,,,,,which offers a polish aluminum option (in 1996 it was $700 option) all sheets are polished before they are welded and have protected plastic on them to protect from welding splatter,,,,,,,,,,,, Machine new Polished aluminum is less porous then non polish aluminum so cleaning is easier,,,,,like the difference cleaning a polished fuel tank and a plain aluminum fuel tank

Don't know Roger but maybe worth a call on old and new parts If I remember correct,,,, They use to sell the odd spec Mack test trucks 20 some years ago This is not the first Mack (for sale) ad listing the engine as a volvo engine http://www.bigtrucksalvage.com/(S(gvwhpv3wrlknvxric1nmye55))/salvage_display.aspx?qfSalvageID=267077&qfTypeOfSalvage=PARTS&qfSection=salvage&qfPrint=NO http://www.commercialtrucktrader.com/big-trucks/find/listing/1966-Mack-R690T-96566334

MORNING ROB, True and very true,,,,, but in today's world of 80mph traffic at 6 feet apart (not that I agree with this style of driving or endorse it) its nice to keep eyes on the horizon for a brake check and the camera see what car is trying too take that 6 feet in front of you (IT IS A VERY IGNORENT WORLD)
-
I have been using 2 Backup cameras,,,,,for blind spots in right front and side,,,,,, 7" LCD screen mounted in the sun visor,,,,,best little investment for heavy rush hour traffic

Electronic Malfunction Light Is On
mackcl96 replied to Timothy B Demarco's topic in Electrical, Electronics and Lighting
What year is the new or used cab,, you put on?(is the cab new from Mack or new to you) found dash panel wired different, when Mack went to E-tech Since you are working in the cab,, check to see if the jumper wire didn't come out of the plug for the fan override switch in the center dash,,,,it will be marked fan override -
Just keep in mind you are trying to compare a big block with a small block engine,,Cubic inches will win in the long run,,, Especially if you crank fuel to the 350 Mack to run or out run the 400+ cummins or Cat. Old Mack wise tail You have 350 hp at the flywheel with your short wheelbase you can expect 280 something to the ground and little less as your wheelbase lengthens. The truck looks like it comes from a good home and going to a good home. Said this before; the Superliner will forever hold its value,,,,If you care for it,, In 20 year from now that RW will sell for $20,000 if not more,,,,, Its Macks trophy truck for 16 years

Will agree on the time, paint(they can lay clear), chrome, craftsmanship and the center console,,,but the parts from NAPA and R-model fuel gauge bothered me

Are you going for the licence plate lite and the toggle switches with the James Bond anti bump protectors (don't know what they call them) or just the console idea

http://www.autotrader.ca/used_cars_Heavy+Trucks_details/CALGARY_Alberta_2007_MACK_CL733_1375761.html?srcID=16&frnID=9820541&ms=heavy_trucks_trailers&prv=Alberta&r=20 O.K,,,I have no problem with this truck taking them ten years to complete and literally removing every nut and bolt on the truck,,,,,,,,,,,But in ten years, they could have called Barry once to get the Correct gauges, switches and flaps... http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=2365052

Is Volvo Good Or Bad For Mack Trucks?
mackcl96 replied to Barry's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
Will someone please get this kscarbel a chair and a cold beer^^^^ I follow what you are preaching (even tho you are preaching to the choir) All we can do is remember what it was ,,,,,,and hope for new owners, but the damage is done. My Dad has had Macks for years. My first paying job was washing Macks at the dealer. Turned 18 bought Mack Trucks and Mack had my back for years (now they are all gone). I know nothing but Mack but volvo is destroying,,,, MANY,,,,,, Loyal customers and employees. Kscarbal Did you work for Mack??? -

Is Volvo Good Or Bad For Mack Trucks?
mackcl96 replied to Barry's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
Renault was a good partner that worked......TOGETHER WITH.... Mack. If it wasnt for them,,,,, Mack would still be running a E6 2-valve 350. The 4-valve head, the E7 and the E9 (that you love) are all here with major help from Renault. -
If I remember correctly,,,,wasnt this a limited edition in 1984 with the MH and RW??????? http://www.commercialtrucktrader.com/big-trucks/find/listing/1984-MACK-MH602-96667154

The date on the door tag is most likely when the truck was put in service,,usually punch stamped by the dealer with the date
-
Carfax says that truck is a 1985 and is probably a Superliner 1 since it has the the three letter model (RWS) The E9 500 was only in the Superliner 2,,,,, Starting with the 1985 Magnum edition
