I'm going out on limb here but I would say E6 2 valve. (maybe some help from Scania) Renault was a big (help) in the 4 valve and E7 as (partners) should be. Volvo is not a partner it is communist dictator!!!

They ordered 2 of them at the dealer I was at. They had 350s ,9spd ,Sleeper on one and put one on at the dealer and they had blue int. bumper to bumper warranty for 3 years. They sold them 2 to very picky people it was a long 3 years.

My reman heads lasted 300,000 miles 10,000 hours until valve seal let loose bad on #4( almost a gal a day) Had (oil) smoke with jake on and after first take off from a few minute idle. Are any exhaust gaskets wet? Mine happened two weeks after mack sold me a turbo that was to small for my setup ( Turbo story)post. Of course that has nothing to do with it Have you put a new smaller exh manifold or turbo on lately?

OK 1966 to 1981 on gold. are the chrome dogs the same from day one up till 81 ?

So thats why all the new trucks now have chrome dogs (A full Mack drive line dose not exist anymore, )

Hello everyone, I had another 96 CL follow me home. It has no collar or chain and its a V-8 so i am going to keep it. The last E9s I had ( 85 400, 85 500 and 87 500)with Ambac pumps they were clunky sounding like a miss. This one is Robert Bosch in-line and is smoother overall. Is this the pump that is achieving this or pistons or ......... Just looking for differences over the years. No rush when you get time. Thanks, Jim

hello distant family, My wife got me a gold dog (Design Patent 87931) From one of her many yard sales. I have seen many chrome and only a few gold dogs on E-bay. The one I have has the driver side eye that sits lower on the head and a casting mark on the chin What years chrome? What years gold? What was before this design? Any info on dogs would be interesting. Thanks again, Jim

Last time I checked Mack has to use low NOx pistons.{In any reman or rebuild kit.} Did they change the data file for that reman Without the program change it will be weak

Just opened a box of mack primary fuel filters pre E-tech no stripe and was always bright red the same color mack has used since the 60's but NOOO they are now [cummins red] I'm sorry[volvo red] I'm sorry [MP-7 dark red with E-tech stripes.] Why are the MP-7 red?? maybe its to trick the public when your new mack is dead on the side of the road with the hood open they will think its a cummins or maybe cummins must of had a bad batch of paint and mack got it cheap. new service bulliten came out for MP-7 to update the water line to the air compressor its 15 pages of directions of parts to remove and they say it will take 2 hours? Takes only 5 min on a real mack.

1998 was last year for E9 some leftovers were titled as 1999

terry The cl is done in 07 (only engine you can get is a cummins, mack owners want mack, sales died) Seen 2007 cl's for sale in canada with sleepers. The milk trucks out of ny (Alnye) seen the cl's with the box sleepers looks like it came off a R-model the reason is for resale that sleeper will work on any truck or can be export. Most of Alnye's resale is to be day cab or tandem dump market. (Mack3p) is the only one here that knows what the 2008 is going to look like (HE THE MAN) Welcome, take care, Jim
