  2. terry, I also (me driving) had good luck with the 2 stick 12, 84 rd but the drivers made me hate them One thing I hate is if you lost your air supply you cant get it home (stuck with no gears) The spliter was a little slow for racing (ha ha) oh yea one too many beers last nite (remember not to post and drink)
  3. 1974 what a year. Dad had westcoast f model 285/ 5spd and 4" straight pipe, no scoop (no hood) but duel 8" intake pipes up the back. Then we put those ram air scoops mack was selling in the late 70s on them hood scoops will never die seen many on US and Canadian macks today (rw cl and ch's}
  4. Yes Mack and Renault decided not to have a cl axle forward and this same partnership decided we didn’t need the rw anymore The titian is Australian’s version of one Mack model it’s all Mack the titian has been out long before Volvo even came into Mack’s office
  5. all i can say for the 12spds there are good ones and bad ones had 3 of them all had different shifting problems you will need a very strong tranny jack (very heavy trans) and a trap door in the floor for quick repairs of shifter fork rails and air lines they were good trannys because mack had nothing else for high horse power off road abuse (superdog) the mack 13spd and 18spd trans are the same unit but the shifter nob is the only thing that is different (the T2130 can be made into a T2180 with the price of the shifter) don't want to make anybody upset but the T2180 started as a T2090 witch still does not have a good low low (13.91) but the .71 is not to bad
  6. the mack cl already has the rw frame the cl has a longer hood then pete 379ex the cl with an e7 has 18 inches between the block and the cab witch is nice for easy air shift line repair
  7. Dan, not all magnums are with alum frames mack must have found a bunch from old california stock back in 1985. I had steel in my 85. we had 3 day cabs on the dealer lot in 86 all steel
  8. The rawhide is only new to the factory bigwigs Mack sales and service Nanaimo Ltd British Columbia Canada has made this custom option truck (in house) for three years or more. It was called a westcoast special edition (locals call it a mack western). What makes this a new model is, a six inch chrome pipes (mounted in the right spot) between the cab and sleeper.
  9. oil cooler {copper tubes wore out in area of steel support cage}
  10. RS had longer and taller hood for cat, cummins and V8. the one here is westcoast model
  11. well its too bad you feel that way.I guess your mom or wife wont let you have a hot rod. why do I want a c-15 with my mack history. I outpull stock 550cats now and get 6.5 mpg
  12. What I have here is 96 E7-454 (stock 380 to ground) no fun. It had an S-3 turbo from the factory in 1998 Mack said to go with an S-4 (5145AM). Almost every year Mack said come down we have a hot new program to put in. Some even came from Hagerstown. (This was the fun part) Now with high flow inj., pump timing bump up, high flow del. Pump, etc. Now with all hot rod toys parts will fail early, so turbos only last 2 years. So in July of 05, Mack got rid of many of the older turbos (Service bulletin 214019). So my replacement turbo is now 5173MX, which is much smaller, then the 5145AM. Mack (HQ) said you can not use an(5173MX E-Tech turbo)it is only rated for 30 psi boost, stock 454 makes 34 psi boost, and Borg Warner said 31 psi tops. Week later Mack said that 5173MX has been tested and will work so I put it on. Found out anything over 30 psi it would howl, the old turbo would produce 45 psi. This one 33 psi and screaming, hot pyro, hot water temp and poor fuel mileage. Called Mack (HQ) they sent service rep to ride with me. To weeks later they tell me it would work if your truck were stock. So it’is your problem. My jaw hit the floor. Now I have $1300 paperweight in the garage and had to find a 5145M4, which is the same as my old one. What this boils down to is, if you buy a used truck and is running good and don't know the history of it, or if you turn up the power on your Mack, don't expect to get replacement parts form Mack because they now make parts just to meet their stock specification.
  13. honda cars and others build in usa does that make them american?
  14. Is anyone having problems with macks new turbos on pre E-Tech E7 engines?
