  1. I take all the help I can get fjh ,Joe and hienz are above and beyond good guys When I see a guy working as hard as you have to keep things together Life included! I'm going to help where I can! Im sure Joey and Hienz feel the same way! Anytime Bro!
  2. Dodger please don't take offence ! I am trying to view this from the big picture your current financial and personal challenges as well keep the costs to a minimum while weigh off the other stuff that's been going on in your life there ! The father situation is going to be a difficult and long haul as well! That's a nasty situation ! One of my good customers son had LGD it took its toll on his life style!
  3. NO! do not cut wires ! leave everything as is! You risk a derate if there is an open circuit! the computer as is now just sees there is not enough EGR flow! And will just open the EGR valve more! if its blocked it won't matter! changing manifolds will require a different turbo the wheel speed sensor won't be there something the computer looks at! BRO don't mess with things we know what were dealing with up to this point! Till you got enough cash to deal with the turbo end leave things alone! You know what to do to make it pull!
  4. Yup we used to sell the Hino product ! They are a good unit but like Volvo they know how to charge for parts!
  5. Yup good plan! Some Guys get carried away pulling everything to bits when its not necessary specially when parts are scarce ! I wasn't thinking about that when I first posted! Let sleeping dogs lie! disturb as little as possible!
  6. anything involving bolts on the hot side of any of these EGR engines is a pain ! MP engines are worse! turbo studs break everything is bad on them! after about a year of operation its a nightmare to have to work on any exhast stuff! Just ask Heinz how much exhaust stuff he sells for MP engines! and is cheaper to buy the part some times than piss around trying to get broken studs out!
  7. Re Read the other post on the other thread bro I added caution there
  8. under the EGR Valve! also if the guy has an air hammer that can assist in removing the manifold end! assuming the center section is still usable! how ever the less you disturb the better off you are if the egr valve can stay on leave it on if the part is that scarce might be an idea to leave it alone the studs that hold the valve can break!
  9. Yes piss poor way to go out!One foot in front of the other! Do your best!
  10. Heinz? Pai? Mack? Which section is cracked Center? While it’s apart have him make a proper 1/8 thick block off plate for under the egr valve!
  11. Yup attitude has a lot to do with it too Remember Heinz ! And you got the stuff! KEY IS You take pride! And also totally agree as we have said before that Volvo half baked program for parts look up Ain't for the faint of heart to run! Secret little side drawers to look in and stuff ! The search feature is Shit Just piss poor!
  12. Yup hard as hell and non magnetic! tough stuff!
  13. If the truck is standard you can put in hi gear jack up a back wheel and bump it with the drive line if no air you may have to cage the brake on that wheel!
  14. If you do a Google search lots come up ! Ebay ag kits ect just phone around try stay away from used the original lifter was not the best! The one with the stepped face is the best!
  15. Typical ! Couldn't be under something sensible like switches! 😡 Backwards Sweeds
  16. Get this stuff Lucas Oil 10153 Assembly Lube - 8 oz. Wonderful shit ! It will stick the lifters in place! Im playing about with a VW right now same scenario lifters stayed put during assembly ! Buy the way the E7 lifter is the same! MAK72GC357
  17. Yup Joey is correct these aren't fussy about what type of oil ! the factory put in what was handy just engine oil! The shaft tends to get pitted on these take a close look if your going to reseal! It got so we wouldn't even try to reseal a box, it weren't worth the hassle of waiting for parts sector shaft if needed take time to get and down time ! Just replaced them with a rebuild! quite cheap in the scheme of things! Just saying
  18. Never seen an ignition fail on these thanks for posting that Heinz ! not much choice an expensive service call or Tow job or A parts canon all not cheap! A CRAP SHOOT!
  19. All done bro thanx for the post though!

  21. Yup that’s cool! I wish my wife was inclined! Some times I’d like some help and mechanicaly not inclined!
  22. Quite Honestly ! We had a little girl at the shop she started out in the office billing She was into racing with her dad! She decided to take on the trade ! She exceled at it she could run circles around me and a few others at the computer stuff she was 5ft 6 or so she could run circles around most of the guys doing a brake job Drums included and most any other task you thru at her! Had to help her once and awhile Welding was one of her short comings Had to train her to think like a Guy a bit ! But she was invaluable with her tiny little hands for this new rubbish that they build with no room for the big mittens like mine! IE: Fan belts ect ! She got her Trade and now has a Family of two and moved back into the warranty department ! Doing claims! Just sayin! Male or Female They are out there!! Just not many!
