  1. Just be careful here ! Before you get carried away ordering parts! Check your cam shaft and lifters before proceeding! I Have seen a failed lifter cause this issue!
  2. So the M drive clutch replace can be done by most any mechanic! The problem is you need to know what to replace! Which is almost everything inside the bell housing including the flywheel YES It will need to be calibrated ! The job is not cheap to do! and unfortunately you would likely best off doing it at the dealer! Trying to cut corners by not replacing the clutch actuator is not a good idea ! This is one of those jobs you want done right from the get go!

  11. I second the liner protrusion! That era of engine had liner protrusion set too low! for the horsepower! the spec got change in later years from low spec ~ 19 to 23 if you can achieve 25 or above is best!
  12. 1 and 6 are on the same path! One more turn will get you where you need to be! Set the valves off the marks on the damper 1 5 3 6 2 4 valves rocking on six you will be close ! Use the marks on the damper! 1-6 5-2 3-4 !as for oiling make sure the correct oil pedestal gasket was used during over haul there are several difrent versions! Don’t sweat the valve looseness on back up it’s likley dynartard cam and that is there for a reason!
  13. Welcome to the site! You should posts some pics and questions! there Are quite a few here that will likely be able to assist I Personally have never worked on an L however there are several guys here that got them an would likely share their insight!
  14. The only method I can think of is to pull number one injector and use a rod down the hole as mentioned by Joey I totally get not pulling the Valve cover specially if you got no leaks they can be a real bitch at times to reseal! I also can identify with it being in a B model not the nicest thing to work on!
  15. I would be suspicious of the line returning to the front injector at the front there! That is Not exactly stock looking! and all the jumper lines between the injectors! be sure they are not damp any where!
  16. Well finally got around to installing the thumb on the old Case this week ! Should work out ok! Got it off Amazon for 500 ! After a few mods they sent the wrong pins and mount bracket so I had to sleeve the holes down to one inch as the bracket had 11/4 holes ! How ever Its mounted on there and We will see how it works!
  17. Just my opinion but I would stick with the E6 ! the front mount will be an issue for you as the E6 is trunnion mounted ! the E7 is stickly a bolt on set up! If you can find a 4V E6 you would be better off! I'm not sure if the front covers are inter changeable!
  18. Slave driver! 🤣
  19. That there is likely the key to the issue ! V8s do not like to idle they like to work! also check the air cleaner if its plugged can case the turbo seals to leak !logging can be a dusty business !
  20. Not knowing the history it is tough to diagnose how ever that condition can be from too much idling! I have see this issue before when idled to long ! it usually happens on both sides in that case!
  21. Just an easy check ! It could be just an anomaly that it is happening it that gear ! yes it should be doing it all the time any time ! The split could be jumping out as well but not as common ! Joe is hinting at that there! Air pressure is another thing you could check around 70/80 psi is good!
  22. First check the yoke nut make sure it’s tight!
  23. Bro you simply have yo MAKE SURE the cam Gear Stays on Spot while you re and re the cam Paint mark it or something Its not rocket science ! the gear simply has to stay engaged to idler! You can handle this!
