  1. You could always get a cheap tandem dump set up for trailer air brakes and then just put a fifth wheel on it and run airlines for trailer
  2. My dad had a DM with a 237, 6 speed that thing flew up hills with 24tn of material. people always had to open the hood to see what was in it
  3. I thought you wanted duel straight? anyways its gonna be straight no matter what
  4. Saw 2 brand new armored CHs going down I-84 Saturday towards NY
  5. Is this the new version of the R400 a underpowered cheap truck? Why not put a mack motor with mack trans. seems to me it would bemore cost effective to be built from mack components
  6. They dont look as bad on the front but on the back they just stick out too much
  7. Bob- He was also telling me how one of the single drop grocery trailers loaded with motor oil lost and axle on the Cross Bronx. None of the towing companies wanted anything to do with it so him and the other guy went down and jacked the trailer up and got the axle back under it then chained the axle in so it wouldn't move. that was after about 7 or 8hrs of jacking and pushing and pulling. The 2 sister to the trailer both broke in half in North Haven by the drop. he said they use to overload them
  8. Red is the most expensive paint right? green will save you money
  9. That RD800 has a E9 with a 12 speed and 4 speed aux. My dad saw it when it was still in primer in the garage up there. They still have some DM800s
  10. They have more than 40 wreckers for 3 guys to drive. Snow/Rain trucks and Sunny day trucks. They kept most of the trucks they bought. CT allows $275hr for a regular heavy duty wrecker never mind a crane or rotator. He remembers that one. He said a girl cut off the truck and turned herself in the next day because it contaminated the towns water supply. Sunoco rolled one getting off Exit-8 and the bill was $28K without environmental
  11. It isn't gonna be perfect it still is a work truck. Just painting the nose for now, cab paint is good. Painting the motor and frame too
  12. Its gonna be a single sticker soon. The 6 jumps out of high range bad so we got a good 12 going in.
  13. Didn't he have a nice '60s R-model too. That Brockway has been down here for about 2 years now. A local towing company just bought a tri-axle pete for 750,000 with a rotator. Then you got Plunske with a 1 of 50 Oshkosh aircraft recovery trucks that handles the jobs just fine taking car of 91 in Wallingford/North Haven. Bought it from a guy in NJ who put a 300, 6 speed with new DMM hood and cab
  14. I like red just as much as green. We paint all our trucks mack red with he exception of our black superdog. Mack Green and mack red are both nice colors maybe flip a coin and see what happens
