  1. Looks just like our towns R-models although they have a few newer(1999) ones! They had a article about the town of Derby's plows last year, they said that the trucks were "unsafe" because they are old(1974) even though they have less than 100k on them and that they need to buy nice brand new ones that never breakdown, cough, cough...
  2. How about the old AC's?
  3. How am i doing? I walk down to the bottom of the hill the R-model is going about 60mph trying to get up it, there a town pay loader(Volvo) pushing snow behind it with 12ft rooster tails coming up and another loader(dresser) coming down the hill and my camera dies, so i get my phone out and take a bad quality video and can't upload it now!
  4. That's scary!
  5. I love the old small cabs with the steal dash!
  6. One of our local farmers came by with a 530 Dresser push snow up on half of the street. Towns R-model pushed up after it and put salt down. Will get some pictures when they plow up the hill and do the other half tomorrow.
  7. From my experience with rebuilt ones it is cheaper to buy a new one if you can and around here it costs only about $20 more and it lasts a lot longer somes places dont even have rebuilt ones however if is a special one get it rebuilt
  8. A couple years ago we had a good size storm that started at 1pm well we were coming back from Hartford at about 5pm and there was Schneider truck stuck in about a 1ft of snow trying to go through an uphill s-curve. The road is a paved cow path well he said his GPS was bringing him to the truck stop even though there isn't one around for miles and the closest one was 3 towns away, needless to say a few hours, payloaders, and wreckers later he finally got dragged out and back to the main road.
  9. It pays good too.
  10. There was a lot of mismanagement and financial instability.
  11. Didn't have time had to go plow once he loosened it all up
  12. BIG John Deere Tractor just went by looks like we wont be stuck here for the next couple days
  13. Our street has about a 1 1/2ft on it we were able to plow about 200ft pushing all the snow into big piles off to the sides Before: After:
  14. We put one vacuum pump on our F-350, it has a 7.3L with 300k and stills run better than new. We always had Fords and never had any problems. My dad bought one new Chevy in 1985 and the engine blew at 16k, blew the rear end, was rotted within a year, and couldn't get out of its own way. The Fords always ran forever!
  15. Interesting Pictures http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/29808-interesting-pictures/
  16. There is a 1 1/2ft of snow just on the road and our road goes straight up so i think the big 285hp R-model is gonna have to work for once
  17. And thats after already plowing a foot last night with 2 1/2ft more this morning
  18. Got to the road and it stopped, i guess plowing 5ft snowdrifts with a 3ft plow don't work to good
  19. Well we hit 2ft and we got another 7hours of steady 2-4in per hour snow
  20. Will be happy to move trucks/equipment around New England on weekends. Contact if transportation needed. Equipment: -1984 R-686ST -1988 RW-713 -1996 Challenger 35tn lowboy -1977 40ft Strick Flatbed
  21. A lot of tractors run with the goose neck around here and they never get stuck but were building a fifth wheel spreader hookup pin for ours
