  1. That's how a lot of the truck parts places are now even mack all they want is the serial number unless you get someone whos been there a while they know what your talking about otherwise you need the vin number even if there is only one style of the part they think you dont know what your talking about and need to look it up.
  2. Just remembered a story he told me about when they were building Rte 9 he used to put 18-20 ton on the F800 above and burned a lot of gas doing it
  3. This one was on hanks it was a Roger Sherman built one out of CT which i believe Suzio York Hill has now
  4. Yeah my dad is very good friends with him. All he does now is pool water during the summer. He has two kenworwth dumps left, a few mack tractors, a triaxle kenworth tractor, a Diamond Reo tractor and a pete tractor, he got rid of all the dumptrailers and flatbeds
  5. That seems to be right about all trucks in CT compared to states around us
  6. Dom Moffo Trucking's first truck, it was within a fleet of mostly macks
  7. In CT triaxles can gross out at 73,000lbs with a construction material and at 67,400lbs without and with a permit 76,500lbs for construction materials but if you have a quadaxle or a double steering axle truck you are good for 80,000lbs Which above worked perfect for Terzian since he hauls a lot of stone out of North Branford Tilcon to his yard which is south of exit 42 on I-95 and anytruck past exit 42 cant use overweight permits
  8. Didn't he have problems with the drive shaft in that truck?
  9. My dad was a mechanic for Gulf and they bought a bunch of 88 R models with T2060s in them and he could not get it through to the drivers you only split first gear but they still tried splitting every gear anyway.
  10. When my dad bought his dump trailer from him he was told it had a V8 in it and was modified by someone up in New York

  16. Our town is buying a new rescue truck to replace two other trucks and the people who spec'd them out wanted to build it on a Freightliner however our public works got 1 Freightliner and about 8 Mack RDs and the freightliner cant plow at the same time its got a load of salt on it because it don't have the power where as the macks keep going and don't even strain so they don't want another headache and went with a custom chassis instead
  17. We have a 2001 RD with a E7-350 with an 8LL and it does the same thing and i still think the Avon Mountain crash was caused by the same problem because we know a bunch of people with the same specs as our RD and their 8LL have the same problem. Also the truck was up at Gabrielli Mack 3 times and they kept saying it was poppet springs and balls until the warranty ran out and then changed forks, complete bearing kit, and sliding clutches and expected us to pay for it and it still jumped out on the way home from there
  18. My grandfather bought a 1952 LJ brand new for $1 per pound
