  8. Bob, I believe the superliner is 204? which is what my dad stretched the trucks you guys had in New Haven too. With our 24 ft trailer its good for 71K i think. With our lowbed its like 79K and thats 43ft. Massachusetts goes by the inner bridge law as of last time we had a truck got pulled over up there. That was with one of the short r models and a 24 ft trailer. i think it was like 68k going by that. And that r model was really short
  9. I know down here you need a long tractor and trailer to be legal for 80K. I think i figured it out that we would need a 45' dump trailer to legally carry 80K without a permit. I dont like that law. Where the permits dont apply south of exit 42 on 95 everything is tight and on top of each other seems to me you'd want shorter trucks so they take up less space but what do i know....
  10. Dont you need the machine to do it?

  15. I thought jay would win but then i though the FWD stalled but it was movin just slowly....very slowly. Took the pic while it was still moving. Could probably get out to eat breakfast while its in 1st gear and get back in an hour later and it would be 15 feet from where you left it.
  16. Back when my dad was a mechanic he was working on a city of Middletown truck and i think it was a ladder, anyways it was originally gas-powered and Detroit re-powered it and put a Allison behind the Detroit. Well they told the guys if you are driving and put it in reverse the tranny will be fine......so they get toned out and are running and it gets canceled so what do you thin they do....throw it in reverse. Tranny was fine but blew the rear end apart.
  17. Not a fan of Paccars but atleast they look better then freightshakers. Good looking one
  18. Winner of slow truck race. When the second picture was taken it was going about 2 foot per minute.
  19. We use to run a 78 R model with 3.86 gears on camelback. Had a 237, 5 speed. We used it for hauling into a landfill with 28 or 30 ton on every load. the 5 speed didn't like the landfill with it being a mountain so we put a 6 speed in and that truack ha d a air power divider and would spin the tires in first gear loaded. Was a little beast. Ran up until we retired it with a newer 350 put in and the same 6 speed and rears. truck also had 22.5s on it
