  5. Lights are never on at the same time, its either one or the other, will the oil pressure sensor shut it off? Anyone?

  9. thanks for the response, both lights come on but not at the same time. If the computer light comes on the truck will run with no problems.On the other hand when the red light comes on the truck will shut down usually in a few minutes.We owned this truck since new and the computer was never set to shut the truck down when at idle. I have a spare EECU, thinking about trying it, not sure if its any good,came off a motor I bought out of a scrap yard? The V ECU is facing down and the prongs are clean checked that any way of checking the VECU to see if its ok? The truck eill also quit when driving, mostly 1500 and higher.RPM

Are there any sensors on a 2000 RD with a 400E-TECH motor that will cause the red shutdown light to come on and about a minute later the motor to quit, then you can start it up again.Sometimes only the malfunction light stays on and the motot will run great. this situation goes back and forth, Oil pressure is 40 to 60 range, water temp never goes above 180. I have checked all grounds and changed all the power relays in glove box. I also changed speedo sensor,cam timing sensor,ground breaker on firewall, cleaned flywheel sensor, and checked harness. I had a problem with that triangle plug, and i had to cut it off and hooked direct, looked like a resistor in the harness.I hope that will be ok?the colors were green, yellow and black. Not sure on how to read the code with the cruise switch. Does any one know where the breakers are for the EECM, and the VECU, if any. THE fuse is good in the box under hood. Any thoughts would be great.
  13. I have a Exhaust Manifold and a Thermostat housing for a M series cabover{garbage truck style}. The manifold may work on a superliner. Part # is 104GC5184M. Housing # is493GB417P2(termostat hou.) I also have a inlet manifold for a RD,CH E-TECH motor equipped. Also have the water pump and housing for the cabover.

  15. Red Dot cover out of R/Superliner, has 3 round top vents, 2 round on right side, 1 round on left. Color is dark grey,fan switch,2 sliding nobs. i will post some pics tomorrow. has only 1 small crack in one of the mounting holes. Nice used piece I don't know if these are available anymore. I remember they weren't cheap! Make offer.

  19. Hi guys 2000 mackRD, E-TECH 400, starts runs to full throttle, then it will shut off like you turned off the key. Does not miss or stutter. Red shutdown light remains on the whole time. when you first crank it up it remains lit until oil pressure builds blinks once then comes back on and stays on even after it shuts off until i reset the key. Sometimes it runs fine, this just started to do this yesterday. I checked the inside plugs on the ECU near the heater and yes it is turned downwards. the plugs on the outside are all clean and i started to check my grounds. The low coolant sensor harness is dry. Haven't checked throttle control yet and timing sensors are fairly new.Primary fuel pump is about a year old. I did notice some issues with the wabco anti-lock harness,is this thing wired to the ECU? THE mal function light did not come on at all. I will check bulb in the morning. Any help will be great, thanks.
  20. Yeah me too, a least I have photos and memories of cleaning that truck every weekend for 4 bucks and lunch ha ha, we waxed the paint right off that long, long hood!
  21. yes you were. he sold the 360 somewhere north, I think it was at Cortland painted blue rede frame.
  22. blue/gold when new. then we painted black, nennie painted it green. Truck was bought new buy my uncle Duke, sold to Uncle John, then to Uncle Joe,then to Rossie construction,caught fire, sold back to Uncle Joe. He totally repainted nose and we instaled all new interior,dash,grill,hood,chrome,glass,and lights. guess it was a dash fire. All new parts were bought from thomas LTD in Lancaster,PA. Ran it a couple of years then he sold it to Nennie. Joe also owned the U360 1693cat that he sold to central construction, they painted green{black when joe owned it}.
