  1. Sunrise... I shoveled the highway off so I could get out Monday- I saw a big Mack truck- ...and a big orange engine. and a big Mack truck. I also so more birds- ...and this mammal walking on 501 at Winfall the other day. I think she wanted a ride, but I didn't have time to stop.
  2. They have a Detroit powered forklift just like that at the shop. They seldom use it though, opting for the big red Taylor instead- just because it has brakes on it and the Clark doesn't.
  3. Oh yes, I absolutely believe that. I just don't know if they would actually respect Mr. Moore's wishes that he not get a truck that was made on Friday or Monday or if it was "you'll take what you get".
  4. Not quite, still about ankle deep!
  5. Thanks Vlad!
  6. H.H.Moore always said that when he ordered a new truck he specified that he did not want one that was made on a Friday or a Monday. Whether or not that actually made any difference is anybody's guess.
  7. The snow is almost knee deep around here! I've been watching birds and mammals mostly- I did see a big Mack truck in Ambridge, Pa. A super size chain- Some big Mack trucks at the Keystone Tractor Museum. Some Winfall wimmens posing by the Winfall sign. Some big Mack trucks.
  8. The company I drove for in the 80's had several VT903's, I drove one in a 74 Transtar. Never had any issues with them that I remember.
  9. uhhh...happy birthday- sorry i'm late.

    WTH!

The 79 F model I drove had a 10 speed overdrive transmission in it and when I dropped the first gear when I started up Christiansburg Mountain one night the gear shift felt a little funny...the next time I tried to downshift the whole stick just broke off in my hand. I pulled onto the shoulder to see what I could do and saw the handle to the hydraulic jack I carried laying in the side box. It just happened to be the perfect size to slide down over the few inches of the gear shift that was sticking through the floor. I put it over the shift lever, tapped it a couple of times, put the hose clamps on the range selector valve, and rode on. The jack handle stayed on it the whole time I drove that truck.
  11. Happy birthday!..better late than never they say.
  12. I saw his page, but his last post was in May.
  13. OK, I guess Bob's all right. I finally found his profile thing and it said he last visited 9 hrs. ago. I've been trying to catch up today myself, and I hadn't seen anything that Bob had posted recently.
  14. Anyone heard anything?..seen anything?..suspect anything?
  15. Wow, just when you think things couldn't get any more stupider....things get more stupider!
  16. Oh HER- Diane Feinstein!
  17. I agree. The ATCA people are just as nice as they can be. The ATHS people on the other hand- remember the pictures that I took at the Winchester show, in 2006 I believe, that Old Bill put on his website, with a link to the ATHS website? The guy that did their website I believe, can't remember his name, or I would damn sure say it, contacted me and said they wanted me AND Old Bill to come to Winchester the following year, they would pay for everything, and they wanted me to take the pictures for them again. I said "great", but I never heard another word about it. I e-mailed what's-his-name back later to ask about it, and he said something like "and who the hell are you?'' and pretty much suggested that I go have sex with myself. And when I sent truck show pictures to them for their website they would post them on the truck show page, but under that other guy's name, that I also can't remember, never giving the photographer credit. No big thing, but still, I took the pictures and took the time to send them, it just looked like they would mention that they were my pictures. I'm still a member because I do like the magazine, but as a group the ATHS can pound sand...or go have sex with themselves.
  18. I've never seen Mr. Mom either.
  19. The best, and most rugged, phone I ever had was my old Motorola flip phone. I finally got a smart phone, and I told the girl at the phone store ''I want one of them there Samsung phones that blow up periodically." She said "they don't do that anymore sir." But I got one anyway, because a guy showed me pictures that he had taken with his Samsung phone, and they looked as good as pictures i've taken with my Nikon camera. Maybe all phones take pictures that good now, I don't know, but that's what sold me on the Samsung.
  20. Some posts inspire me to do further research-
  21. Kind of the same way I feel about driving a truck anymore.
  22. Very true.
  23. I might just try that. I'm gonna go pick some right- oh, wait...guess i'll have to wait a few months, but i'll try it.
