I saw a plane and another plane a "fitty six Foad" (vision386) ...some big Mack trucks. another big Mack truck- I got held up in Winfall on the way home today because they were paving rt. 501. And this girl was hitch-hiking, trying to catch a ride to Gladys, but I didn't have time to stop.

The Rockingham, N.C. race track- it doesn't look like much from here, this would be outside of turns 3 and 4, but it's just over a one mile high banked track that put on some great races in it's day- 492 laps were 500 miles, I think it was like 1.07 miles. I went to Griffin Pipes with a load of sand and saw these carp swimming around in the James River. Who comes up with these names? A girl in a car. Some horses in a field.

Thanks for that bit of info Larry, I might just do that. We have a driver that used to be the service manager at Cardinal Chevrolet in Appomattox and he said the same thing- about the intake gaskets, not the antifreeze- that that was about the only issue with those cars, the intake gaskets.

I was doing a google search to see if I could find any info about the gun battle in the parking lot in Ivor last week and found this BMT thread mentioned. I guess nobody ever noticed the mouse in this picture,eh?

Wow! Ma had a '65 two door with a 327 and a powerglide, it was nice, ran great too. I once had a '68 four door Impala with a 283 and powerglide, now that was a large car. It didn't really run what i'd describe as being great, it was a little bit under-powered.

What else...oh, I saw a dump truck dumping some dogs... The Diamond T i've posted before, but this is a pretty good picture of it. ...and a girl in a car from the interweb- And my girl friend wanted me to buy her a car too, since I have to pay the difference on the Impala and what Jo got for the Saturn. I said "I ain't gonna buy you a car, but I will buy you a new pair of jeans, since those are torn all to pieces!"

It was nice just to get to go south for a change! That's a lot of steel right there! I saw lots of stuff in Texas, pretty much everything except randyp- birds, spacemen, elephants, bugs, horses... Now that's a big crane! Load of valves I picked up in Tomball, Tx. going to Williamsport, Pa. Nice Pontiac, 66 or 67. I saw this big Mack truck in Williamsport. And these two Internationals almost covered up by the bushes and weeds-

Turns out the ol' Saturn was totalled. She got a check for it in the mail yesterday. Tomorrow she's going to go get this Impala. I went by that used car lot- same one we got the Saturn from by the way- to look at a 2007 Malibu. She didn't like the Malibu, she liked the Impala. I said "you don't want that Impala, you want the Malibu." She said "I don't like that Malibu, I like the Impala." I said "you don't want that Impala, it's too big for you, and probably way more expensive." So we got the keys to both of them and she drove the Impala. All we did was sit in the Malibu, and I said "you're right, I like the Impala." It was way cleaner on the inside, and it was a 2001 model- you couldn't tell it had ever been sat in. And, it was the same price as the Malibu and only has 77,000 miles on it. The Malibu had 133,000. I did some work too, I went to Neville Island with a load of beams. I hope we're done with snow and ice now. While I was sitting there waiting to get unloaded this guy pulls in, stops right in the middle of the driveway, gets out,locks both doors, and saunters inside to check in. He had everything blocked-all he had to do was wait a few seconds until the guy in front of his truck put his tarps away, and he could have pulled in and gotten out of the way. Must be that Volvo thing. I saw a big Mack truck. I went to Houston too, I left last Saturday so I could deliver Monday. It's nice and green down that way- hot too! Lots of traffic on the road last Sunday.

You're right, the insurance adjuster said that was $4100 damage, and he valued the car at $2700.

That's kinda what I was thinking Paul, but I don't know if you can even find a 2001 Saturn around here- most places crush the older cars, and back yard parts really became scarce when scrap prices went way up a few years ago.

I went over to Mtn. Lake Park ,Md. with a load of pipes last week. I saw some large windmills on top of the mountain at Mount Storm. And I saw some big Mack trucks there too. I saw this big Mack truck in Martinsville. I saw this big Mack truck in Lexington, Va, sitting on rt. 11 right across the highway from Lee-Hi Truck Stop. Remember when I bought Jo that little Saturn car a few years ago? It's been a good car, and she loves it. She was sitting at a red light in Madison Heights last week- minding her own binness, waiting for the light to change- when some jackass in a big ass lifted Silverado pickup with big ass tires came from her left and made a right turn onto the street she was on. And right onto the hood of her car, for who knows why? It was broad daylight, and he just ran right into her. He got a ticket for reckless driving. I looked online a bit, and checked the Kelley Blue Book, and the bad part is the car looks to be worth only about $1500. I don't know if it's totaled or not, but it doesn't take much now to have $1500 in damage. It still runs fine, she drove it to her sister's house just a little ways away, but the police officer told her he couldn't let her drive it back to Gladys. OK, I saw a girl in a car on the interweb too-

All the electric fences i've seen worked either by battery or solar power, but when I was a kid I remember my Daddy telling of a man that had his fence wired right into his house current, and it killed his mule. I guess he just didn't know any better.

He's on facebook pretty regularly, he's kind of in the same boat as Mark, says he's having some difficulty getting on BMT.

We had a driver hit a car last week, but I don't know the circumstances. It threw this load of steel all over, the front stack hit the headache rack and pushed it up against the back of the cab of the truck. I had just complimented the same driver a few weeks ago for having a well secured load.

I've heard a story years ago that a driver went off of I-40 in "The Gorge" in western N.C. and was trapped in the wreck and couldn't get out because he had broken both arms. They say- I don't know who "they" are in this case- the truck couldn't be seen because of heavy brush and bushes, and the wreck wasn't even found until that fall or winter when the leaves fell. He wasn't hurt that badly, except for the broken arms, and just died there because he couldn't get out. Whether this is actually true or not, I do not know.

Seems to be doing fine, I think he's found a local job now and doesn't do the long distance deal any more. He says he can't get on BMT any more because his phone won't let him.

I would have stopped, he was the one that was shunning me!
