Sounds like him, he was a super nice guy, and he would stand and talk to you all day. I've been to his place several times. I took nocluejoe66 there one time and he gave us the grand tour in his pickup. I have many pictures of his trucks, the album is called "Old Trucks at P.L. Duncan's". They're in Cumberland county, where I was born and raised. I'm in Hubbard, Ohio now on the laptop.

I used the 93% lean ground beast when I made the one on the grill, and it was the only meatloaf i've ever had that was too dry. For this one I used 80% lean beast, chopped up about half a large onion, half a green pepper, added two eggs, dumped in some bread crumbs, and the secret ingredient- a bottle of John Boy and Billy's Grillin' Sauce. I used the original flavor, it's really good.

I did not see much this week, so I didn't take many pictures of it. Didn't really go too far, went to Milton, W.V. and back to Petersburg. I saw this mill roll in front of me going up Sandstone Mtn. Then I took a load of pipes to Blackstone, Va, a van load to South Boston, and a load of kyanite to Sanford, N.C.all in the same day. Saw this flag on a hill from Griffin Pipe. Old truck by the field. A Ford for sale in Concord, Va. Jo's been after me to make a meatloaf for a while, so I did. Last one I made like this I cooked it on the grill, but it was a little chilly yesterday, so I just put it in the oven. I was going to do the fancy weave/lattice deal with the bacon, but I ended up just stacking a pile of bacon on it. I didn't use a loaf pan, the top pan has holes in it so the grease could run out into the baking dish it was sitting on. I'm all about eating healthy, that's why I only used 14 slices of bacon instead of 15. It was very tasty!

I've done that before- I was coming back from Covington with an empty log trailer one time and pulled over on the ramp at exit 36, at the bottom of North Mountain. I-64 was completely snow covered, there was no way i'd make it up the mountain with the empty trailer. So, a salt truck finally goes by, I give him a pretty good head start, then follow him on up the mountain. Made it just fine until he took the crossover about a quarter of a mile from the top, then I was on my own, and I thought I wasn't going to make it that last quarter of a mile. Sat on top of Sandstone coming east one night waiting on a salt truck that never did come. I sat there about an hour, while the snow was just getting deeper, and one of our trucks passed by going west and he said he thought I could make it. So I eased on down, by the time I got to the bottom the road was clear, and they had salted the other side. Sandstone is no hill to be taken lightly.

Richard Rawlings paid $5,000 I believe it was for an older Bronco that was just a rust bucket.

I've had to park and wait several hours before I could cross before because of the wind. Then they let flatbeds go across, but not vans or high profile vehicles. It's a wonder they were letting trucks cross it yesterday the way the wind was blowing.

I was thinking about that weekend fill-in position, but I figured by the time I drove to work it would be time to leave so I could be home in time to go to work.

No, that's a little before my time- I started driving in Jan. of 1979. By the time I got to Berkley Springs the fire was completely out, it wasn't even smoldering.

I drove a '78 Astro for a while, I liked it all right. It was solid white, had a 290 Cummins and a nine speed.

Yes, I've stopped there a few times, but I used to stop more in Chillicothe at the Highway Diner and sometimes the old "Schoolhouse" restaurant. I don't know if either of them are still there because the new road doesn't go by them- they're probably still there, but most likely closed. I don't run that way much any more.
