  1. I've seen it several times at the truck shows, Corbitts were the featured truck at the Greensboro show, which they moved to Colfax, N.C. These were taken at the Greensboro ATHS show, when they used to have it at the NAPA warehouse. The ol' battle axe- I mean Jobyna- is standing in front of it, and she's 5'1". I took these from pictures in a 2005 photo album, back before I had a digital camera, or even knew what one was.
  2. It's a good looking truck, from the road anyway, no rust or "bents" that I could see.
  3. That's exactly what happened, on Donner Pass. It was rumored that this is mowerman, but that has not been confirmed.
  4. Well, i'm just kind of plodding along like i've always done- just here, trying to maintain a low profile- but it sure is good to see you back on here Rob!
  5. Yes, I've decided that I should sell the mixer truck. I'm putting it here first, i'll take $5,000 - and that's not etched in stone- from any BMT member. I'd really like to see it in the Keystone Tractor Museum, but they've shown no interest in it. I'll probably ask $6500 for it, the price when I bought it, but i'll let it go for 5 to BMT members that have been here a year or more- just so nobody joins tomorrow to get a good deal. I have nowhere to store it inside, and that's where it needs to be. It needs some TLC, and I don't have the time, and no where to even park it at home. The clear coat is peeling in spots, and I just hate to see it sitting there, when I know it wants to be ran. It's in great shape mechanically as far as I know, always ran great, transmission- 18 speed quadruplex- works great, it stops great too. I hate to do it, I love this truck, but somebody else can take better care of it than I can. I took this picture of it yesterday-
  6. So, I was thinking that since I could not run away and join the circus I would run for president of the US in 2020- now you're telling me that that's not going to happen either?.. another bummer!

  8. All my life i've been thinking of running away and joining the circus...now it can never happen...bummer!
  9. You're right about that! This was a 45 minute inspection, but if we hadn't been talking and BS-ing so much it wouldn't have been near as long. He didn't want to be out there working on Saturday morning any more than I did. And he seemed to have a full knowledge and understanding about what it's like to be a truck driver. And he could not and never has lived in the city, grew up on a family farm, just like I did- he even lives in the middle of nowhere, just like I do- super nice guy, just like i'm is.
  10. The fire ain't doing a whole lot of burning, but it's still smoking- I took this about 15 minutes ago! Wonder what they're clearing that spot for?..maybe they are fixin' to move in- it's getting kind of crowded around here now. The houses on either side of me are both empty right now, but some people we know are trying to buy the one through the woods here, and the other one is for sale too.
  11. From snowy Gladys to sunny south Florida. I called a dignitary when I was in Florida, one known as Hatcity. I was at the power plant near Port St. Lucie, which is right near Stuart, which is right near where Hatcity's top secret headquarters are located...I think. Got it pointed back to the north now... I even saw a girl in a car when I was sitting at a red light. Then I saw something I didn't want to see- on Saturday morning! but it was all good- the DOT officer was actually a really nice guy. When I got to the yard yesterday morning I saw the new truck inspector inspecting a new International. She asked me if i'd help her inspect the interior, since nobody else was around. I told her "hell no, have you lost your mind?..i'm going home."
  12. I saw pteradactlys in Chesapeake. ...and a cabover Pete. I saw a dog on the way to Florida. I know he was going to Florida because I saw him down there later. I saw lots of birds in Florida too. lots of birds- More dogs- ...and an ocean.
  13. I've seen some stuff- a man unloaded a bulldozer across the road last week and started clearing some land where they cut that wood last year....or was it the year before last?..anyhow, he piled up some brush and lit the pile on fire before he left that evening. It was still burning several days later, even after all that snow we had. I couldn't get out until Tuesday, you could hardly stand up in the road out here. I unloaded a van load of snow on the way to Lynchburg. Then I couldn't get in the driveway where I was going to load because of ice. I made a right into this driveway and the truck needed to be right on that ice spot. I got backed out into the street and started to turn around and make a left into the driveway, but decided not to because if I started sliding going that way i'd be going down hill and probably wouldn't stop until I was in the creek down there somewhere. So I just made a wider turn at a higher rate of speed on my second attempt and made it in, after I locked the power divider. Those two Autocars are still sitting in South Boston ...and the single axle R model is still for sale on 501. I saw a big Mack truck in Ivor.
  14. Thanks, i've got a few ratchets to take back.
  15. My Canadian assistant actually put the chains on for me- She's a tremendous help- she went out to see if the paper came just a few minutes ago- ...and she went over to start the bulldozer across the road so it could warm up!
  16. I saw a car in Chester, West Virginia. I put two puncture wounds in the side of the van when I was backing blindside through the gate. It was dark and raining, but that's no excuse- I usually back up a few feet at a time and get out and look, but this time I backed just a little too far and hit the gate hinge on the post. I saw some goal posts in Canton. Saw a lot of snow here yesterday... ...but I chained up and went to the beer store!
  17. Got this Craftsman box in 1974 as part of a set- still have most of the tools. The roll cabinet is still in Appomattox at my late father in law's place. I'm going to go get it as soon as I get another shed.
  18. I'd almost forgotten about Montgomery Wards. While Ma would order about everything from Sears or from Aldens, I don't think my grandfather ever ordered anything that didn't come from Ward's.
  19. We haul out of Wellsville all the time, I think this is Pennex in Greenville, Pa. though.
  20. They are tipper trucks. I had more pictures of those Macks somewhere, but they're similar to this-
  21. I did not have a snowblower, but I did use my non-ethanol gasoline powered Stihl leaf blower to clear the driveway before, worked great on this dry powdery snow.
