  1. That first trip there was a great story.
  2. Get well soon Mike, i'll be praying for you also- couldn't hurt, right? And wow, how about that employer?..what a way to treat a hard working and dedicated employee. Those bastards!
  3. Big pond that you have to drive through to get to the outbound scales at Gerdau in Petersburg. I had to drive around this day because so many people were fishing. They were biting good that day though.Big machine in Baltimore. It was at a coal pile. I was a long ways away from it, picking up some of those aluminum logs.I saw a big ship in Baltimore too.And a smaller ship. And two still smaller ships...I took this electric powered fork lift back to Milwaukee. A company from Rustburg rented it because they needed an electric unit for a job, and that was the only place they could rent one that big. It would lift 30-35,000 lbs. they said.Which is as much as the big red one at the yard will lift.
  4. Happy birthday!
  5. Happy birthday Bob!
  6. I know people who have worked for Walmart, in fact my two sons both worked at different Walmarts at different times, and I don't think i've ever heard anybody that worked there have anything good to say about it.
  7. that could be why they have 25 registers and only 4 are open when I go to the Walmart store on Saturday.
  8. Well said, I agree. I've followed their directions on everything i've cooked instead of using any of my own tried and true ideas from using my offset smoker, and everything has been fantastic.
  9. Most excellent, i've even cooked beef brisket in it that came out tender and delicious, something i'd never been able to accomplish before. Everything i've cooked in it came out good.
  10. I thought about going for a ride- briefly- but both tires are flat on the Huffy.
  11. nope, just my charming personality
  12. I like this one too.
  13. The winter that never ends- we had substantial snow before Christmas last year, and it's still snowing in April. I bought a bird feeder for entertainment, already got birds enjoying it. The big peach. The big mug of beer. The big rack of ribs. Yum... A big Mack- oh, I posted this one last time, never mind.
  14. She sampled some Pit Barrel ribs this weekend, but I told her that your food was much, much, better than mine so she'll be looking forward to it.
  15. I've been doing many new and exciting things. A while back I noticed that I had a squeeze bottle of spicy brown mustard in the refrigerator that was about half full, and a larger bottle of regular yellow mustard that was only part full. So I mixed them. And just today I poured the last of the pineapple juice in with the orange juice to save space. Very delicious too.
  16. Looks great!
  17. Happy birthday!
  18. Happy birthday Vlad!
  19. thank you!
  20. Thank you everyone!
  21. Only 75.
  22. Or it could be just a bad air governor?
  23. I hope it's only the beginning Vlad, because this woman...I already know that I would marry her right now, she's just great, and i'm just completely taken with her. Yep...
  24. A big Mack truck. After I delivered the crane mats and cribbing to Diversified Rigging I took off to Oak Harbor, Ohio. Picked up these compressors and drying towers that I took up there a few months ago. There's several pallets of hose on the back of the trailer. When I took this load up there they told me I would have to unroll that hose across the parking lot so they could roll a steel ball through it. I thought they were joking at first, but they were not. The nuclear power plant people don't have much of a sense of humor. It was about 10 degrees that day and I told them "somebody might roll that hose across the parking lot, but it won't be me- i'll take it back to Lynchburg first!" And I meant it. The security guard with the automatic weapon that rode in the truck with me, and followed my every step when I had to get out just laughed, and said "I don't blame you, you drive the truck- they can take it to the pallet x-ray machine, that's the simplest thing to do." Then they called somebody, and they decided that the hose was probably ok, and I didn't take it back, but I was not going to roll it out across the parking lot. The cooling tower is huge. Pulling into the truck trap on the way out. Pulling out of the truck trap. My favorite view- the power plant in the rear view mirror. Then yesterday my gorgeous girlfriend and I climbed Mt. Everest.
