Reminds me of the advice Rob gave somebody on here one time- he told them "if the DOT pulls you over the first words you say are "blow me!"
-
Yeah, I like those too! Some friends of mine's 66-

I went to Emporia, Va. with a load of beams out of Blytheville, Ar. Got to Emporia last night and went to Simmons Truck Stop. They have a Huddle House restaurant there, it's similar to a Waffle House, only better I think. I'm almost ashamed- but not quite- to say I had the usual- eggs, sausage, hash browns with onions, a biscuit and gravy, and a waffle.

It was a 396/350hp, which was actually a 402. It was bored .030 over, had a Crane cam, 780 Holley carb, Edelbrock "Tarantula" intake, Accel ignition, headers, all the usual goodies. Had an 8-track tape player too! It was originally an automatic, but I went to the junk yard and bought all the clutch parts and linkage out of a 4 speed Chevelle and put an M22 Muncie that I already had in it. Nice car! Then I got married- the first time- and sold it for half what it was worth. The end.
-
Nice window! Nice red pickup! Nice Chevelle, I had a '70 SS, in the 70's. Nice pictures!

It sure is Mike, I hadn't even noticed that!..must be a "cute effin' something"...i'm gonna call her and see what it is...

...so then, after nearly passing out from the heat and humidity tarping that load of steel, I went up to the Daisy Duke diner- had just enough- well, almost- hours to get there. T he food there is great, and the scenery ain't bad either. It was too dark to take any good pictures though. Then, the next day, I saw a girl in a car. Load of angle, when I stopped to get a bistit on the way to Petersburg the next morning. The worst part was, the load was going to the galvanizing place in Petersburg- I picked it up for Triad Metals, and if i'd known it was going to the galvanizer I wouldn't have tarped it in the first place. Now you might look at this and think "tarping- what's the big deal?..what's he whining about, that looks easy enough!" And it is, I just like to whine...but when it's 90-some degrees, 100% humididity, i'm old, you gotta use that stupid fall-prevention crap to get on the trailer, it is kind of a big deal- oops, sorry, got carried away whining again there! After I got unloaded at the galvanizer, I went over to the fuel stop to wait and see if we would get a load out of the steel mill. I saw this dumpster behind Hardees while I was there. I loaded a load going to Muskogee, Ok. that delivers Monday. I'll leave tomorrow. You can see the beams in the mirror here, while I was waiting to turn into the driveway off of 460 in Concord yesterday.

I went to Atlanta again, with a load of beams this time. Here's the Atlanta skyline from the place where I unloaded- I left there and went to Cartersville, Ga. to load some 40 foot angle iron at Gerdau. I saw a girl in a car along the way- She rates 2 pictures- No, she rates 3 pictures- Once again, it was just sweltering hot in Georgia- ...but i'm still not going to wear short pants hanging half way off my ass and tennis shoes when I go somewhere to load! I saw a big Mack truck there- I also saw this sharp looking pickup sitting inside the fence down the street a little ways when I left-

Reloaded at Gerdau in Cartersville, Ga. Thought i'd have a heat stroke tarping this load of 40' angle, and the one lift of 20' flat bar they put on top just to make it harder to tarp. I didn't go back down 75 to 285 to 85, through Atlanta and Charlotte, I went 75 north to Knoxville and 40 east to 81 north- much better going that way. I stopped at the Daisy Duke Diner at exit 30 on 81 in Tennessee and had a hamburger steak with mashed potaters, gravy and onions, pinto beans, corn bread, and a couple of glasses of iced tea. I was ready to take a nap then, but I didn't, I went on to Concord. Saw this unit along the way, so I took a picture for no good reason. I saw a bird yesterday-

I don't have a lot of pictures this week, except for some girls in some cars, and everybody's probably tired of seeing them. I did a van load to Sanford, N.C. Monday and again Tuesday, so that was nice. This heat and humidity has been rough the last few weeks! I was hoping to get towards Pittsburgh at the end of the week, but I had to go to Norcross, Ga. with a load of sheets, a machine, a coil, some skidded coils, and I was soaked with sweat before I got started good tarping it. A girl in a car- A van load (not really- I was back at the shop empty). Load of steel I took to Norcross. It wasn't foggy at all, but i'd had the AC on in the truck WFO and when I got the camera out after I got the tarps off it just fogged up immediately. I saw a white Dodge van at the gas pump when I stopped in Chatham on the way to Norcross. Some girls in a car. Here's another girl in a car- Here's a big peach- A big Mack truck-

Watts & BMT's 9th Annual Truck and Equipment Show!

I heard an armadillo shell helmet actually works better than tin foil. I don't know, but I ordered one just to be on the safe side.
-
Yes, some nice trucks at that little show- like the yellow Fleetstar, the Highbinder, the GMC...
-
I don't know if I can make it or not, I couldn't make Macungie. If I was in the area on Friday, I might hang around an extra day.

Holy mackle!
-
Yep, I mean if I could have just gotten a little bit farther ahead there would have been so much more to see...just a couple of feets- a couple of feets, and I couldn't get them! Notice she was wearing a dress pulled up to her waist, that's her left leg up against the door...that's the one that got away! Here's my all time favorite- I took it on I-85 north of Charlotte about 7 or 8 or 10 years ago.

Rt. 340, near Harpers Ferry W.V. This was the old Fulton terminal in Stephens City, then Swift bought Fulton and took it over, now the sign out front says Purdy Brothers.
-
Some girls in some cars- This might have been one of the best "a girl in a car" pictures ever, if only I could have gotten a few more feets forward- I couldn't get there because I was behind a Burns truck loaded with lumber. More big yellow machines. That rock wears stuff out pretty quick, looks like some new bodies there. When I went by going west the day before there was a truck there with a load of new tires sitting there and I noticed several rock trucks that they had already put new tires on. Wonder what one of those tires cost? A girl in a blue VW beetle. A big orange International, near Gettysburg, Pa.
-
I've got to go up that hill when that big Mack dump truck gets down it. After I got unloaded I had to wait for them to blow up a rock pile before I could leave. A girl in a car. Scraper in Canton, Oh. Big Mack dump truck in Canton. Some wimmins and some dogs in Beaver, Pa.

I got around a bit this week- I took a load of pipes to Sterling, Va. then went to Wellsville, Pa. and dropped my trailer at Pennex Aluminum and pulled one of their conestogas to Canton, Oh. I called Freightrain and he told me exactly how to get to the place I was delivering to. Then I went to Leetsdale, Pa. and picked up a load going to Farrell, Pa, then from Farrell I went up to Erie and picked up a box- some kind of tubing in a wooden crate. When they said it was "just one box, weighs 850 pounds" I was expecting it to be a regular size box, like shoe box size, maybe a little bigger- and it was about the height and width of a shoe box, but it was 25 feets long! So I took the box back to Wellsville and they loaded it onto the trailer I had dropped there, and I brought it to the yard. Here's a few pictures I took along the way- Property of who?.. A girl in a car- A big Mack truck. A girl in a car... Northern Va. traffic- trying to get to Sterling with a load of pipes... Trying to find the place that i'm trying to get to...

I think this is the captain-
-
I figured that was it, yep, i've seen it before, never stopped there though.
-
That reminds me of when Randy and Spot were pig hunters- this same girl wanted to go on the pig hunt, but she shot Killer so Randy made her stay home and paint the ceiling-from about 2011...

No, it's a single axle, cream colored or very light tan, looks good from the road, but there's nowhere to pull over in a truck there to take a really close look. However, as always, if anybody on here is interested I would be glad to ride down there and take a look, it's not that far from here. And no, i'm not familiar with the Dutch Valley Restaurant, i've never stopped there- do they have truck parking? Joey Moore told me at the shop they other day that i've gotten so fat he was going to put a tread mill by the fuel pump, so I can work out on the tread mill while i'm getting fuel. Since I stopped smoking I do tend to eat a lot!
