Over here in Amelia county, on rt. 360. I had my camera ready because there used to be an H model cab sitting there. Didn't see the H model, but there were lots of other Macks there.

I hauled a few loads like that from Joliet, Illinois to Winchester, Va. in the '80's. They would band the material to the trailer, with these big-ass heavy duty bands, at least an inch wide i'd say, then you'd still have to chain it- straps hadn't been invented then.

I usually do all the above, in this order- I start a bar fight, get beaten up, then I throw up, then pass out.

Just in case anybody missed it-

Yes, I had to have an oversize permit for every state. I could run 24/7 in Indiana with no escort because the load wasn't wide, everywhere else-Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia- I had to have an escort and could run daylight hours only. Illinois was daylight only, but I made it to Indiana before dark, so I was good. The escort met me at the Ohio line at Richmond, In. both times, and we got to Lynchburg before dark both times.

Found this dead black snake in the garden just a few minutes ago. Looks like it was trying to crawl through the fence and got stuck.

Yeah Bob, the ones I loaded in Elkhart last week were 77 feet long, these were 80. I had to open the trailer another hole though, from 68' to 73'.

I saw a big Mack truck on rt. 35 in W.V. And a big yellow Taylor at Atlas Tube in Chicago. It was way bigger than the big red Taylor at the shop- Over the hood view, T800 Kenworth...nothing much to see here, eh? At Atlas Tube in Chicago. I picked up another long load of tubing there, going to Lynchburg. It was 80 feets long. Some jackass in a Nissan pickup. I took a load of steel from Lynchburg down to the galvanizer in Ashland, Va. yesterday. Saw this boat going north on I-95, it belonged to some professional fishing team and had not one, not two, but three 300 horsepower engines on it!
