  1. I saw a girl in a car at a red light while I was on the way to Blytheville, Ar. Saw lots of these log trucks in Texas, I didn't know they used these type of set ups anywhere except in the great northwest. I saw these fine looking units in Arkansas. Fitzgerald Gliders in Tennessee- pretty big place,eh? Praying mantis on the trailer-
  2. I didn't do much- no, wait, I did do much this week, just didn't take a lot of pictures of it. I went to Houston, a place in Texas, with a load of beams. My unit sitting at the shop, all clean- I took this just moments before the biker gang rolled up on me. I stopped in Niota, Tn. where I saw this girl go in the truckstop with her hair down, then she came out a few minutes later with her hair in a ponytail...not that there's anything wrong with that. I saw a slurpee too. Every time I go by Miller's in Chattanooga I think of "Highway Thru Hell"- good show, by the way- and the time Jamie Davis went there to pick up his new wrecker. They had put the body on wrong, with too much space between the cab and body, and when he left with it the step almost fell off and was dragging on the road before he was out of sight good. He pulled over and put some duct tape on it and went on with it instead of taking it back. He needed the truck badly and they were already way behind schedule getting it finished for him anyway. Later, I saw a girl in a car at a red light. I saw a big bridge in Louisiana. We're all stopped, it's raining and there was an accident ahead. I saw a dog peeing on a trash can and a bird with a long tail at the Pilot in Houston. Houston skyline-
  3. I'm out of likes, but ...
  4. I'm out of likes, but i'm with you on that Brocky!
  5. And i'm kind of glad it is, I was tired of George Bush getting blamed for everything!
  6. I'm out of likes, but i'm with you on that HeavyGunner.
  7. I'm out of likes, but i'm with you on that Bob.
  8. Yup, just like the new big trucks. They want all work done at the dealer's now except routine servicing. They said "don't put a wrench on anything!" and if you do they want to void the warranty.
  9. It's not funny, this could happen to anybody- be alert at all times out there!
  10. Oh, it is!...just kidding, scrapple is delicious!
  11. That's my favorite too- that way I can eat the pancakes and give the scrapple to the dog that's under the table...just kidding- scrapple is delicious!
  12. Yep, I made some Yuengling popsicles for later.
  13. So, I browned those sausages in a coated, non-stick skillet, just like the instructions said. After they were brown on all sides I poured half a Yuengling in the pan and let them simmer for 15 more minutes. The instructions said to simmer them in water, so I figured a Yuengling had to be better. Then I set them aside, with the fried potatoes and onions, poured the Yuengling out, and browned some peppers and onions a little bit. Then I added them to the skillet of potatoes, onions, and sausage- It was very good- maybe better than scrapple.
  14. I don't know, first time i'd ever seen it. I'm going to test it here shortly!
  15. C'mon down!
  16. Yes I did- if they're not actually on the phone, it's laying right there on their leg where they can reach it instantly. Yes, I did get a long weekend, I unloaded in Emporia Wednesday morning and went up to Petersburg and loaded a 50' load going to Houston. I haven't done anything since, i'll leave Sunday for Tuesday delivery in Houston. I'll have a backyard barbecue tomorrow, everybody come on over!
  17. When I got back into Tennessee I saw some kind of wild aminal by the road. I rode east until my hours were up, and pulled into a parking area to sleep. When I got up the next morning I thought I was at the Abilene terminal. Going east on I-40, almost to N.C. Approaching the first tunnel. That's a bypass road on the right, in case they have to close the tunnel for some reason. In the tunnel... Approaching the second tunnel- In the tunnel- Saw this before I got to Greensboro-
  18. I hadn't gone very far across the bridge when I saw a diesel cop with a big truck pulled over. Then I saw a girl in a car. After I delivered in Muskogee I went to Blytheville, Ar. to load for Emporia, Va. Saw these trucks getting loaded in the field. I even saw green combines with blue grain heads, I don't know what that was all about! Following the forklift at Nucor-Yamato in Blytheville. I hit it lucky- got loaded 2 hours before my appointment time! When I left there I crossed back over the same big river.
  19. This week I went to Muskogee, Oklahoma with a load of beams. I left Saturday, and when I got to the shop I thought Abilene had opened a terminal there. I saw a girl in a car on 81 somewhere. I stopped at exit 288 on 40 in Tn. for my mandatory 30 minute break. This is the ice box outside the truck stop. They have a big smoker there too, you can see a little of it behind that picket fence, past the ice box. This GMC was parked out back there too along with this International. Both of them had "for sale" signs on them. I saw a shiny pyramid in Memphis. Then I crossed a bridge over a pretty good size river.
  20. Reminds me of the advice Rob gave somebody on here one time- he told them "if the DOT pulls you over the first words you say are "blow me!"
  21. Yeah, I like those too! Some friends of mine's 66-
  22. I went to Emporia, Va. with a load of beams out of Blytheville, Ar. Got to Emporia last night and went to Simmons Truck Stop. They have a Huddle House restaurant there, it's similar to a Waffle House, only better I think. I'm almost ashamed- but not quite- to say I had the usual- eggs, sausage, hash browns with onions, a biscuit and gravy, and a waffle.
  23. It was a 396/350hp, which was actually a 402. It was bored .030 over, had a Crane cam, 780 Holley carb, Edelbrock "Tarantula" intake, Accel ignition, headers, all the usual goodies. Had an 8-track tape player too! It was originally an automatic, but I went to the junk yard and bought all the clutch parts and linkage out of a 4 speed Chevelle and put an M22 Muncie that I already had in it. Nice car! Then I got married- the first time- and sold it for half what it was worth. The end.
  24. Nice window! Nice red pickup! Nice Chevelle, I had a '70 SS, in the 70's. Nice pictures!
