  1. This is true, I drove a 379 for a long time, and they're a hard truck to get comfortable in. It was a nice truck though, I liked it.
  2. Double secret?..and this place out in the woods on this pig path is only a "secret" location?..you'd better put a gps beacon on it if you move it to a "double secret" location, or you might not find it again yourself.
  3. I called the Winfall mattress testing team to come test the mattress for me, they said it was all good.

  7. I thought this was a pretty good picture. I didn't post it at first because it has a Peterbilt in it.
  8. I don't know what it was for, here's the google earth view. I went down to the Giant Eagle and turned around, then came back up to Rodgers St. and turned left, went straight in.
  9. That was on rt. 51, just south of rt.136...I think it's 136 that goes to Monongahela. I had to pick up a load of tundish powder in Monongahela Tuesday- what ever tundish powder is. I took it to the steel mill in Petersburg, Va. It's something in bags in cardboard boxes, the pallets were as tall as I am and I had to get up on it to tarp it.

  11. I can take some tomorrow. The interior on the T660 is actually a lot nicer. Lot more storage space, and cabinets with doors- The bunk had 2 drawers on the driver's side, with a closet above them. On the passenger side the refrigerator is on the bottom, with a cabinet with 2 shelves above it, plus storage spaces up top at each end of the bunk. All the new truck has is a big open space for a closet, no doors on it, no drawers, and 2 shelves on the passenger side, no doors, and no top storage spaces at the ends.

  14. That DEF tank is only about half the size of the old one. I only had to fill it about every two to three weeks, I guess it'll be every week now. Not a big deal, but still..

  16. Thanks Brocky, you're right about that! I came in Wednesday and fueled up, when they had that load of pipes going to Monongahela, Pa. Jeff came down from the office and said "you didn't put any fuel in that truck did you? I'll get Jimmy and them to start putting the boxes on it." I said "about $400 worth- i've got to go up the road with a load of pipes." So he said "OK, we'll do it Friday then." And I got to the shop yesterday morning around 9 or 9:30 and I left at 3:30. They had to take the headache rack off, 2 tool boxes, secret spy cameras, pre-pass, ez pass, etc. then put it all on the new truck. I had to clean out the side boxes, transfer all the chains, binders, tarps,etc, then all my stuff on the inside- all that takes a long time! The pickup is still loaded with crap now that i'm going up there tomorrow and put in it. I was going to do it today, but I had to go to Wal Mart and get some items for it, and it got kind of late, and I got distracted on the computer... I'm gonna go blow some leaves around now.
  17. I stopped in Winfall on the way home to get some gas yesterday and this girl wanted me to explain to her how to operate the gas pumps, but I told her I didn't have time to fool with her, I had to go.
  18. I took a load of pipes to Monongahela the other day. I was coming from the opposite direction here and my directions said to make a right on Baird Street- the street right there with that pole on the corner. I said "I can not make that turn without taking that pole with me." I probably could have made it if I took the whole road, but there was a long line of traffic coming towards me, and as usual, a long line of traffic behind me. So I continued onward to the grocery store parking lot that was just a little ways down on the left and called the contractor. He said there was another way in and to just wait right there, he'd have somebody there in just a minute. So a minute later a guy in a dump truck pulled in and said to follow him. We went back up the street,rt.88, made an easy left on a big wide street, and it went straight to where they unloaded me. Who gives these directions anyway, they should have said to turn on that street in the first place. Then I went to Galv-Tech in Pittsburgh and loaded one 19,000 lb. coil going to Salem, Va. Had a light load so I came back down across Mt. Storm. Stopped at the scenic overlook and saw some windmills. And some scenic views... It's harvest season, I saw lots of harvest equipment on the road, some even in the field.
  19. Oh... you're a smart fellow, you'd be great in the personnel department, $50 a month is way better than $100 a week! Besides, I haul more heavy loads over more big hills than anybody else. It's uphill all the way from Lynchburg to anywhere in Pa, and all the way back. The W900s they've got have 550s in them.

  21. I'm hoping the ISX Cummins won't have the issues that the Paccar engines had, they were nothing but trouble. The red truck has 440-some thousand miles on it, and it's on it's third turbo.

  23. I spent most of the day yesterday moving stuff out of the red truck into the other red truck. That's a job! We switched the headache rack, tool boxes, chains, binders, tarps, all the equipment in the side boxes, and most of my personal belongings. Got to go back to the shop today and finish. I got lucky just because I picked the red truck- the last time I took my truck to Truck Enterprises because the red engine light was coming on Jeff said he was going to trade it. He said there were about 6 T800's up there, and to "look at them and see which one you want." They had 2 charcoal gray ones, a lavendor one, a red one, a blue one, and a green one. I walked out there and took a quick look, not a close look at all, just to check out the colors that were available because I thought the color was the only difference in them. I called him and told him I liked the red one, so he said that was the one he was going to tell them he wanted. Come to find out that the others had 455hp. engines but the red one has a 500 with a heavier frame and driveline. He said the warranty was more because it has the 500, but "don't worry, i'll just take $100 a week out of your check to pay for the warranty."
  24. I drove a couple of Freightliners, one was a 1998 classic. It was a good one, but the other one was one of the crappiest trucks I ever drove. Don't remember what year it was, it was a lot newer than the '98, mid-roof, ran good, but was just a shoddily built truck.
