  1. I don't know, it posted like 6 times. Last week it posted twice and when I deleted one it deleted both, so I don't know what the heck's going on.
  2. Great...not a double post this time, a multiple post and all my gripping descriptions that I painstakingly typed with one finger disappeared...grrrrr!
  3. .A big Mack truck in New Castle, Pa. A covered bridge near Greenville, Pa. A better picture of the South Fork Dam remains. You can see the observation decks on each side of the break in this one. The water was up to the top of the dam when it failed, so that gives you an idea just how much water was in the lake. Stopped by the old ship hotel site and looked around too. Still some burnt timbers laying around, lots of twisted metal and debris strewn down the mountain side. https://www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/ca/traveler/2002-01/ship_hotel.shtml Nice view. The little building across the road used to be a service station. Aerial photo, 1941. http://roadsidephotos.sabr.org/LH/grandview.htm
  4. Ran two trips to Pa. and back this week with no breakdowns...yay! Saw a big Mack truck in New Castle, Pa. And a covered bridge near Greenville. I dropped down 219 again and got a better picture of the remains of the South Fork Dam. You can see the observation decks on both sides in this picture. There's one on each end of the dam remains, with the old lakebed behind. The water was up to the top of the dam when it gave way, so that gives you an idea of just how much water there was. And I stopped where the old ship hotel was and looked around. Lots of debris scattered down the mountain side, still some burnt timbers and lots of twisted metal mostly. Newspaper article about the fire- https://www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/ca/traveler/2002-01/ship_hotel.shtml Nice view- Some early history and postcards here- http://roadsidephotos.sabr.org/LH/grandview.htm This little building across the road used to be a service station- Aerial photo,1941. Pretty neat stuff,eh? Saw a Ford wrecker truck a little farther down the hill. Don't see this much anymore- a pay phone! Another Ford.

  6. Here's two of four bikes I used to own, my current one's at the bottom...but it has two flat tires now.
  7. Wow, tough choice there- but you couldn't go wrong either way. So....which one did you choose?
  8. trailer looks good- she did a nice job!
  9. BBQ at Opal- that's pretty good barbecue there.
  10. me neither Vlad, me neither. It would have been cheaper to send our mechanic in the pickup from Concord, Va. to fix it, and almost as quick.
  11. great- first picture that didn't double post!..this is just a test.
  12. I passed this girl pulled over on the shoulder in Winfall on the way home yesterday. It looked like she might have been having mechanical difficulties, but it was getting late and I didn't have time to stop.
  13. hmmmmmm...still double posting. I'm not going to delete it, it might delete both again. Besides, you can't have too many girl in a car pictures anyway,eh?
  14. OK, thanks- here's a free bonus pic of a girl in a car for screwing up the pictures of the week, from the interweb-

  16. I'll turn them over for you-
  17. I think I fixed it- I deleted the pictures in the double post, and these deleted right along with them, so I re-posted them...hope it didn't double post again. Looks good- don't look 58FWD, I already mailed your refund check.
  18. wtf?..my pictures disappeared!
  19. I'm done for the week already. I would be on the way to New Castle, Pa. with a load of lumber now, but they couldn't find a back haul. They had 2 loads of coils in Pittsburgh this morning but they didn't commit because I was late getting in today. One was going to Chantilly, Va. to the same place I delivered to Tuesday, the other was going to Salem, Va. to the same place I delivered to today. I was late getting in because I suffered a rare breakdown and waited at the rest area at the 50 mile marker on 79 in Pa. for almost 10 hours to get an air line fixed. The road service bill was $973.50...to fix a broken air line. I was there from around 2pm. until almost midnight last night, then I only drove a couple of hours and ran out of power, so I had to go to sleep. Hunter Truck Sales service truck's tool box- I saw this groundhog at Galv-Tech in Pittsburgh when I was outside tarping. And some young Killdeer running around. Garage door in New Alexandria, Pa. A girl in a car- the one on the passenger side looks like her Ma...looks kind of mean too. Saw some nice looking units for sale in the Auction Times while I was waiting on the air line. And this- just in case anybody had a '58 FWD and needed a replacement engine, or just to put in the deep-freeze and keep for a spare for a 58 FWD. Nice looking big Mack truck at the rest area. Nice looking big Mack truck on rt.220 near Eagle Rock, Va. today. Seeing this view a lot lately. Got lots of new parts lately- AC compressor and alternator, turbo and charge air cooler, ...and a new air line and power divider, sorry, no photos. Here's one of the old air line though- And a rooster named Foghorn at the Concord post office. I was sitting across the road in the bank drive-thru. The same girl in the same car with the same mean looking woman.
  20. nothing to see here...double post.
