  1. I only made one round this week- Took a load of Kyanite in a van to Chester, W.V. then went over to Wadsworth, Oh. and got a load of plastic going to Stihl in Va. Beach...guess I should have taken that 60' load going to Tampa that they had Wednesday. It was this warm when I left on Sunday- ...and it was this warm in Ohio Monday morning- While I was waiting to get unloaded I saw this girl came outside to clear the snow off her car before she motored off to work. Chester, W.V. across the river from East Liverpool, Ohio. East Liverpool- The water in the lake was frozen- I see tracks- maybe Vinny drove his snowmobile down from New York. Getting a truck out of the median on I-76, west of Youngstown. The wrecker behind the trailer was a big R model, had too much salt spray on the windshield to get a good picture. Massillon, Ohio- this might have been LTV Steel?..I don't remember the name of it, but we used to load steel bars over there all the time in the 80's-90's, going to Brenco Bearings in Petersburg, Va. They make bearings for train car axles. Road shots, W.V. Turnpike- Road shots, Sandstone Mountain- Something took out a lot of guardrail and went down into the median, just across the W.V. line on I-64 west. Pretty nasty day in Norfolk Tuesday, rain, a little sleet, and very windy. Never got over 33 degrees while I was in Va. Beach, meanwhile it was in the 40's and nice in Lynchburg and Roanoke. I saw these plastic covered blobs in a field on rt. 460, somewhere around Disputanta. I have no idea what they are. ...but there sure is a lot of them! Later, at home... I dug out this old magazine I have- from 1983. Had some nice pictures in it- Even some big Mack trucks. I even found an item i'm going to order- hope it's still available!
  2. We had several used headache racks at the shop, don't know what they might want for one, but i'll check if you want me to.
  3. I read somewhere that wiping the headlight covers with Deep Woods Off- the insect repellent- works well to clear them up. Had to be Deep Woods, not regular Off. I've never tried it, but if you happened to have a can of it around it might be worth a try for a quick and easy fix, not to mention cheap.
  4. I "managed my attachments" today, and last night too. I deleted over a thousand pictures- probably closer to 2 thousand. Amazing how they pile up! And I still have a long ways to go. I didn't delete them from my computer, just on BMT. So if you look at something old and the picture's not there, it's probably still on my PC somewhere- I had over 8,800 pictures saved at last count, almost as many as Superdog has Macks.
  5. Mr. and Mrs. Vision at the drive thru... Vision at home on the weekend...
  6. Thanks Medium- your check's in the mail.
  7. Watching Highway Thru Hell...wow, very intense situations!

  8. what?..the part where I said I was smart? Yeah, that was a good one!
  9. I'm with you, I think there's some king of trickery involved and they had an ulterior motive, but I was too smart to fall for it.
  10. What a coincidence! I stopped in Winfall on the way home today and this girl also claimed to have lost a quarter in her car. Wanted me to help look for it...of course I told her I didn't have time. Then just as I was leaving, this girl had the nerve to ask me if i'd help her with a splinter she claimed to have in her thigh. I told her my eyes weren't that good anymore, I couldn't see something as small as a splinter. So I got in the truck and left.
  11. A-Hah! Now I remember his name- I ran across an old picture of him when I was looking for the randyp short bus picture.
  12. I had to Google lally columns to see if I was a super trucker. Never heard that term before.
  13. Old Bill asked me a few weeks ago if I wanted a new leather cap that he got from Trimac. I said "sure, if you're going to throw it out i'll be glad to have it." It came in the mail yesterday- nice cap! Never seen a size adjuster thinga-ma-bob like this- It's way too nice to wear to work, i'll just stick it in the memorabilia cabinet with the other trucking memorabilia stuff in the trucking memorabilia cabinet. He sent me a webcam too, way nicer than the one I have now, but it wouldn't work on my computer. It only worked with Windows XP and older systems.
  14. This was just a few miles from here- http://www.newsadvance.com/news/local/one-dead-in-campbell-county-fire/article_7c7db18c-ad84-11e4-95ab-5f84373ca792.html I passed by there on the way to Concord this morning. I didn't even notice the house because there was frozen water all across the highway there in a spot about 15 or 20 feet long. It was only 12 degrees at the time. I took a picture on the way home, it was about 37 degrees by then and they had put sand on the ice spot.
  15. All the rivets in my tool box door broke last summer, so I got a cordless drill and some screws and fixed it myself in the parking lot at the shop. It only had four rivets in it to begin with. I put six screws in it- The other day I opened the tool box on the headache rack and it almost came off in my hand- only the top rivet was holding the door to the hinge. They fixed it at the shop though- put all of two screws in it. They were supposed to have fixed this one too, all the rivets have come loose, but I guess they figured it didn't need more fixing- I already had a rubber strap on it. I guess the road bounce and vibration breaks the rivets, this door on the passenger side tool box rarely gets opened. I went down to Dillwyn with a van today, picked up a load of Kyanite going to Chester, W.V. Leaving the Mullite plant ...in a big cloud of dust.
  16. I think everything Art's got is for sale.

  18. All I know is Milt Pappas pitched for the Orioles and the big bad wolf wanted to eat little red riding hood...probably no connection to the car.
  19. I'm at the point where i'm too old to fight and too fat to run, so I'll just stay home and let medium TCB for me. I didn't really care about the game either, none of my favorite teams were in it, but I did listen to it on the radio when I was parked for the night in Carlisle, Pa. It was a good one though, I thought Seattle had it won- just like I thought Green Bay had it won when they played Seattle in the playoffs.
  20. Is that Steely Dan? They were great!
