  1. I didn't know that either, I heard it running and thought somebody had swapped a 318 Detroit in it. I took a short video of it last year, but I might have deleted it.
  2. Stupid computers. (Freightrain,1867)
  3. We used to haul a lot of beams to a place in Masury...can't remember the name, I think it's the same as the place in Brookfield behind Nick Strimbu's. They wanted all the loads coming in tarped, all year, even the beams that are stored outside at the mill. They wouldn't even let you untarp outside in the big parking lot, you had to pull inside where there was just enough room to walk beside the trailer.. Had to drag the tarps either in front of or behind the truck to have room to fold them. Redneck untarped outside one time and they made him retarp it before they would let him pull in to unload. A real bunch of a-holes there. Redneck told Todd to never send him there again, and I don't think we deliver there at all anymore.
  4. I don't have a cardboard cutout, but I can get him in the picture .
  5. That's him.
  6. No Dave, thank you! I talked to a guy there, he used to work for Truck Enterprises and was a Peterbilt salesman. I think he said his name was Logan?..anyway, nice guy, we talked for a long time, a lot about P.L.Duncan. I asked him where you were and what you were up to but said he didn't know.
  7. Just send 20 to me. i'll send obommer 10, keep 9 for me for ...i'll think of something, then send Bill a dollar. That's how the gummint would handle it...maybe I should run for congress.
  8. I remember going to Palmer's sawmill in Powhatan,Va. when I was a kid. They had several stationary 6-71 GMC diesels powering the mill, running wide open...sounding great. Then I remember going there the last time and being disappointed that they were all gone, replaced by electric motors.
  9. Wow, if every member sent him 5 bucks, about the price of a six pack or pack of smokes, that would be...hmmmm...a substantial amount of money.
  10. It's $8 well spent. Dave said last year that what they charge for admission doesn't even pay the electric bill.
  11. Tiller update- I stopped in Appomattox on the way to Petersburg yesterday and got 2 new drive tires on the pickup. While I was there I picked up a can of starting fluid off the shelf. Got it out of the toolbox today and got the tiller out. I set the starting fluid down on the edge of the deck and pulled the rope one time before I tried the starting fluid, just to see what it would do. Summich started right up.
  12. You've got some great pictures there too.
  13. I'd like to hear that Case with the turbocharged GM diesel and big chrome stack running one time.
  14. You're welcome, no problem sharing the pics. Probably be a while before some members can fly in from Washington to see it. Still nothing like being there, there's way more stuff there than that- the many displays around the perimiter are worth the price of admission. It's hard to take good pictures there anyway, everything is so close together you can't get far enough away to get the whole truck in the picture because you're bumping into something else. Dave's done an outstanding job!

  16. Yeah, took a trip to Petersburg today. They've really got a lot more trucks since the last time I was there! I'll have a picture link to flickr or where ever it is I put pictures as soon as I get them uploaded. I had to charge my camera battery first, the battery sign said it was full but it expired after about 125 pictures. Hadn't charged it since I left for Winchester, and I took over 200 pics there. Here's a few I took with Jo's camera- Never seen a Studebaker this big before- what a hood! What a hoss! Nice '67 427 Chevelle- Bought this at the gift shop- Saw this one the way home-
  17. That reminded me of this mild looking Fairlane in Winchester- but it was all motor-
  18. F 950 with a Detroit Diesel in it.
  19. It's a terrible disease, my uncle- Daddy's older brother- had it for several years before he passed. He was in a V.A. nursing home in Richmond and didn't know anybody when they went to see him. Finally Daddy said he didn't want to go any more, he just couldn't stand seeing him like that any more. I think it made him afraid he might get it too, but i'm glad he never did.
  20. Great!
  21. Gee, I really need to check my e mail more often- had 258 unread messages on aol. Oh, How about now? NEWESTBOOKPRINT_1_PDF.pdf
  22. Yes, it was Kenworth warranty. I had the trailer about 13 feet off the pavement, I stepped it off before I dropped it. I was still worried about it, but it was still there safe and sound when I went back to get it. It was at a pull-off right by a roadside vegetable stand.
  23. I got it on my hotmail e mail, I have to sign in on outlook.com to get my e mail. I'm gonna send it to myself on aol and see what happens.
