Oh. The old Whites were the only trucks i've seen them on before.
-
I wonder what became of Fred Craig's GMCs? All these, and several more, were in Winchester in '06 or '07. The yellow one had the V12 gas engine in it. I'd like to have the D860 myself.
-
Are you talking about the brackets on the front corners? About all the 7000 Whites had those, never did know what they were for.
-
That looks like if you hit a speed of 103.663 mph. the front wheels would start to lift.

I went to Moneta and unloaded lumber Monday- truck was clean as a pin, the truck washer guy had washed it over the weekend. Saw a metal spider and scorpion in Moneta. Instead of reloading treated lumber there I had to go to Dillwyn and get a load of kyanite going to Chester, W.V. The paper said the load was at the Upper Gieseke plant. Chester loads are usually at the Mullite plant just north of Dillwyn, but I figured they should know where it was so I went to the Gieseke plant. You have to go to the back side of Willis Mountain to get there, about a mile down a dirt road. The water truck had just made a pass when I got there... There it is right there- The clean didn't last long. And the worst part was, the load wasn't there, it was at the Mullite plant...grrrrr! I saw a smoking dump truck along the way. This fellow hitched a ride when I was leaving the Gieseke plant. 60 mph. on rt. 15 and it's still riding. He finally jumped off when I stopped at the red light at Sprouses Corner. Kyanite tarped and ready to ride. Load of pumpkins on I-81. Goats in the field. Goats on the cliff. The seldom seen and rarely photographed Summersville goat on Powell Mountain. Road shot west of Moorefield, W.V. Much dirt and rock was moved to make this road. Took a picture in the mirror while I was waiting to get unloaded in Chester of this woman's north side as she was walking south. I saw a raccoon in Chester too. A girl walking by the railroad tracks in McKees Rocks. I took a load from Lynchburg to Spencer, In, then got a load of bricks from Westfield, In. to Indiana University in Indiana, Pa. then went back to Mckees Rocks to load back to Lynchburg. Some random pics on the Indiana University campus- A girl in a car eating an apple...or it could be a pear. The wrecking ball knocking down this tower looking thing. A pig and a gorilla. I saw lots of big yellow machines this week. As the old saying goes "you can't swing a dead raccoon around by it's tail without hitting a big yellow machine." Steel I loaded in McKees Rocks. A girl in a car not eating an apple...or a pear.

That's a sorry way to do business. Sorry for somebody to buy it out from under you like that on the buyer's part, and the seller should have honored your agreement if he had agreed to your price in the first place, even if somebody had offered three times as much. A deal is a deal- at least it used to be. At the very least the seller should have told you he got a better offer and given you the option to match it instead of sending your check back.

other dog replied to slpwlker's topic in Odds and Ends
I didn't make it, went from Moneta back to Dillwyn and loaded kyanite going to Chester, W.V. I was in the area yesterday though, but I didn't see anybody. -

I might be lurking around the area tonight and tomorrow, but I don't know yet. I've got to unload lumber in Moneta, and i'll probably reload there and head up north somewhere. -
I picked this many peppers today to put with the ones already in the freezer. I went ahead and picked the biggest Tabascos too. A couple of them had turned orange and I picked them before, but I don't know if they were going to turn red or not so I went ahead and picked the biggest and brightest ones. And I bit the end off of one and ate it. I don't know how they compare heat-wise with the jalapenos and cayennes, but my tongue is still burning from it. Still got a lot of cayennes on the plants that are still green. Here's the entire crop so far-

H Model Day

I was going to go to this show but I decided to wait and go to Winchester in a couple of weeks instead. I wish they still had this one in July like they used to. -
H Model Day
other dog replied to Brocky's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
That's the only one i've ever seen, it's at a lot of truck shows around here. I took this picture of it in Troutman, N.C. in 2007. -
parting out a F-700

That's one of Herbert Jamerson's old trucks. I remember when Jeff Moore used to drive this truck. Herbert Jamerson was his grandfather, as was H.H.Moore, and he drove for Jamerson Brothers for a while. This one and the 79 F model I drove for H.H.Moore were the only 2 around here with visors on them. I got in on a Saturday morning when I was at H.H's and while I was waiting on a ride home Jeff came in bobtailing in this truck. He lived behind H.H's shop, and they had just put the visor on it and he brought it home to clean and wax it. I walked down to his house and we got to talking, waxing, then the beer drinking started...and lasted the rest of the day. I kind of forgot about going home after a couple cases of beer were gone. When I finally did get home- I lived in Evergreen at the time- my girlfriend was highly upset, to put it mildly. -
I stopped at the fuel stop at exit 32 to get a sandwich before I went to load and saw a lot of trucks going by on rt. 8 so I decided to take it over to 385 to 26 to get to Newberry. I usually go all the way up to Greenville and get on 385. It was a nice shortcut, probably no quicker but a lot shorter and less traffic. I like to get off the beaten path anyway.
-
Then when I stopped to get a sausage, egg, and cheese bistit, a red bull, and a pack of smokes- i'm all about healthy- this girl asked for help too, but I didn't have time to fool with her.

These wimmen tried to flag me down, but I know they just wanted me to help push, so I didn't stop.

I'm putting my ballot in the mail today. And the "Double Clutch" even has a U model in the vintage Mack ad- holy hamburgers!

I had just got on I-64 west at Clifton Forge the other day when 3 trucks with fancy paint jobs hauling golf carts with fancy paint jobs passed me. I don't know what this place is in Fairmont,W.V, but it looks important. I saw a big truck hauling an even bigger truck. I saw big trucks hauling a big yellow machines. Even saw a big yellow truck. My reflection- A car with tinted windows... I saw a Mackie the mover on 79 in W.V. Old steerable dolly at the yard...in the weeds. The big ugly rusty thing is the old stove out of the shop. Two coils I brought in from Sharon,Pa. A mower on a trailer. I had to wait for the train to go by in Gladys before I could get home the other night. That's about twice in the last 8 years i've seen a train on those tracks. I found some ripe tomatoes when I got home. I thought the tomatoes were about done for the year but they made a nice comeback. I even found another "mystery melon". This vine was growing where I had the cabbage planted. I didn't even know what it was. I was kind of hoping it was a cucumber vine, but I discovered a good size cantaloupe down under the anti-rabbit defense system in the grass. It's a mystery because I never even planted any cantaloupes. ...or any on these smooth skinned melons either for that matter. I went to Norcross,Ga. Thursday. Saw this log truck on 85 in North or South Carolina. Big peach ahead in Gaffney,S.C. Here's an older picture of the peach. Gibson's Truck Parts, Cowpens, S.C. Atlanta is a very popular place- all those folks over there are trying to get to it. I've unloaded in Norcross and heading to Newberry,S.C. to get a load of lumber. Saw a polar bear behind a bush along the way. It was very hot and very humid in Newberry. A girl at a gas station.

I like the Chevrolet truck, looked like a steal!

I've loaded beams at Bethlehem many times. One of those places where you'd wait all evening and half the night to get loaded, other than that it wasn't bad. Farmer, i've loaded at US Steel Homestead Works in Pittsburgh too. Now you go right past it going to Galv-Tech but you'd never know it was ever there, just stores and shopping malls there now. Loaded at Fairless Works a few times too, another one of those places where it took all evening and half the night to get loaded. US Steel in Gary, In. was a place that usually took all day and all night to get loaded.

It doesn't seem to be as powerful now as it used to be. A little bit too much used to lock an engine up pretty quick, now they'll spray half a can in at the shop trying to get one started after they change a fuel filter. They also use it for mounting tires and for hand cleaner. And when they turn an empty plastic pop bottle upside down and put acetylene and oxygen in it and quickly screw the top back on it they would spray a trail of starting fluid to it and light it, creating a loud explosion when the bottle melted through. No wonder we go through so much starting fluid!

I do not, haven't seen that commercial.
-
I saw on facebook that it was spotted heading north on 95. Too bad Jeff Moore didn't buy it!
-
Saw this on a facebook page called "Cabover Lovers". Some guy said he saw it going north on 95 near the Florida/Georgia line and got a couple of pictures. Looks familiar,eh?..and getting famous!

I got to use some duct tape on a major repair job last weekend. When Jo tried to move the table on the back porch she grabbed the pole and yanked on it (insert joke here) instead of grabbing the table. The umbrella pole snapped off so I found a piece of pipe about the right size, cut a length off with the hacksaw, and stuck it over the broken piece, then stuck the pole back in it (insert next joke here). I wrapped the tape around it to shim it up so the pole fit tighter (last joke here). Saw the diesel cop in Bedford Monday with a big Mack log truck pulled over. Saw this big Mack log truck in Alta,W.V. taking the day off. A big red dump truck. A big blue dump truck. A red truck and a blue truck in one picture- A big Mack truck rolling a little coal in McKees Rocks. A big yellow machine. I was driving down 29 on the way to Norcross when I noticed this stowaway. I put him out in Chatham. Diamond T in S.C. Aerodyne cabover KW at Cowpens,S.C. Saw lots of half nekkid girls in cars, but unfortunately I only got one picture. Fortunately, her thighs are big enough to make two regular size girls in a car. This guy got out of a Celadon truck and strolled into the Love's at Peeler Road in N.C, shorts, sandals, long sleeves, Tiny Tim hair and all. These two girls asked me to steer their car for them while they tried to push it backwards, but I told them I didn't have time to fool with them, I had to go. I saw an early morning flock of geese flying by just after daylight yesterday morning. I was waiting at the gate to unload lumber in Troy, Va. when I heard them honking. Then I went to Moneta and loaded treated lumber and came home and picked some peppers. I only picked one of these that had turned orange. I don't know if they're all gonna turn orange or if they're ready to pick now. They're this color in the picture on the little plastic tag that came with the plant. Pickled jalapenos my sister-in-law gave me last weekend. They were really good, put some on some nachos yesterday. We make home made nachos, put real cheese on a tortilla chip, pepper on top, then put them under the broiler until the cheese melts. Oh, put the chips on a pan first, I forgot that part.
