  1. I want this one-
  2. Thanks Paul, you have a nice Thanksgiving too- looks like you're off to a good start!
  3. You must have ESPN.
  4. What's with the high beams?
  5. H.H.Moore ordered a bunch of "deer whistles" to put on all the trucks one time. It was just a little plastic thing that stuck on the bumper. They worked too, I hit more deer while I had the thing on there than I ever did before, or since. Most of the deer I see along the road don't even move when you go by, but those whistles sure made them take off at a high rate of speed. Only trouble was they were just as likely to run out in front of you as run anywhere else. I pulled my deer whistle off and threw it away.
  6. I saw this one at a truck show, I doubt they would actually haul anything on this bed- Saw this one at a truck show too, you can haul a dozer on it.
  7. At least I didn't rub my eyes or scratch my unit after handling the hot peppers.
  8. Made some hot sauce today. That's my whole pepper crop after processing- Lot of work cleaning and processing- I forgot to get rubber gloves, my hands are still burning. At least I remembered not to rub my eyes or scratch my- never mind, moving on- I added some store bought sauce to make it redder, since most of the peppers were green. I like for it to be red. Got it cooking now, bottles clean and ready. Final product. Used 12 of my new bottles and recycled some I had saved.
  9. I've been "Moonshiner" since about 1978 or 1979. They used to put our CB handle on the door at H.H.Moore's and people would ask me all the time, even at toll booths, "how'd you get that handle?..do you make it?..drink it?..sell it?..got any?" And the answer is no, well, a time or two, no, and no. It's only because I saw a red and white 68 or 69 Camaro at Richmond Dragway that was called Moonshine Runner, 10 second car, had the name and the picture of a hillbilly with a jug on the side of it. I thought that would be a good CB handle. I had a 68 Camaro at the time- it was about a 28 second car, had a 6 cylinder and 3 speed- anyhow, people just shortened it and started calling me moonshiner and it stuck, so i've been Moonshiner ever since.
  10. Fred Craig had these GMC's in Winchester,Va. at the ATHS show in '06 or '07. The yellow one had the V12 gas engine but I must not have taken a picture of it, couldn't find it anyway. These were some of the last pictures I took with a film camera. I like the D860 in the middle, and the 7000 was the replacement for the 860.
  11. "I had to come back".."I know..."...

  12. I made a pair of stilts to impress the kids once. We used to make them when I was a kid...they couldn't have cared less. I enjoyed them though- might make me a pair tomorrow.
  13. Looking for a picture in a photo album, found this- Sometime in the 80's...well, I don't really remember for sure, but alcohol might have been a factor. No alcohol involved here, 1983- Winfall wimmins doing their part to control the deer population-
  14. Good for you Jay, and good luck with it- glad they're giving you what you want!
  15. I should take up hunting again, I see more and more deer all the time. Going up 79 in W.V. right before dark they're all over the place- and, they're delicious!
  16. I hate having to go to that part of the world, I manage to avoid it for the most part. However, I did manage to save way more than 15% on a turkey today. I bought a frozen turkey for us, not a "name brand" Butterball or something, it was a Jenny O brand. I figure seen one turkey, seen 'em all. Cost less than $10 for an almost 15 lb. turkey. Then I was going to get a couple of turkey breastesess to smoke for my nieces, they love my smoked turkey and chicken. Just a breast would be plenty for them and it wouldn't take near as long to smoke and cook them as it would a whole turkey. And just a breast- same brand, Jenny O- was $14! I couldn't see it, that just doesn't make any sense at all, so I went and got another whole 14 lb. turkey for under 10 bucks.
  17. And that left turn takes you right into the state police area headquarters!
  18. I was leaving the steel mill in Petersburg Tuesday with a load of beams going to Florence, S.C. when I saw some wild animals- Saw a cabover GMC truck in Columbia, S.C. Saw this IH where I picked up a load of lumber. And more wild animals... Saw a catfish truck on 460. And a couple of wood trucks in W.V. This one had a happy looking stick- Some jackass stole all my wood off the trailer when I had to take that dropdeck trailer to Akron last week. Somebody else delivered the load of lumber I had and strapped it down on the trailer for me and brought it back to the yard where somebody took every piece of it and left the straps dangling off the trailer. I've accumulated some more and locked it up. Another load of coils from Sharon Coatings. I was coming down 79 in Pa. yesterday when somebody hollered at me on the CB, "how about that F.L.Moore truck- is that you Tommy?" I said "yeah, go ahead". "This is Sleepwalker". So I said "OK, looking good back that way, ain't seen nuthin' to bother you". "OK, you're looking good down to 70" Then I was thinking "sleepwalker- who the **** is sleepwalker...I don't know him, must be a new driver. I didn't even see another F.L.Moore truck...maybe it's the a-hole that stole my wood." Then it finally dawned on me- it was the slpwlkr! So I called him on the phone and we talked for a while. I'm a little slow sometimes.
  19. I was looking for an old randyp, AKA "the human tripod", reference I had about the time he got into some trouble at the airport, but I couldn't find it. I did however find a good picture story from the past...
