  1. no, but maybe I should give that a try.
  2. Not much for pictures this week. I put the B model pictures on here Tuesday, then only made one more short trip to Greenville, S.C because the truck was at Truck Enterprises in Lynchburg from Tuesday until Thursday morning. The engine light came on Monday night so when I got unloaded in Madison Heights Tuesday morning I called Jeff and asked him if he wanted me to keep on riding or run it by there so they could check it. And he said to go on over and let them take a look at it. Problem was the def lines they said. Not sure exactly what the problem was, if they were clogged or what, but they said it needed 3 new lines...and they only had 2 of them, so they had to order the other one. Jeff said they should have a stockpile of them because we have a truck a week up there for the same thing. I stopped by the store on the way home Tuesday, pulled out my last $20 bill. I thought "hmmmmm...I shouldn't be broke until Thursday or Friday...". I'd gone to the bank last Friday, deposited some money, kept a little extra cash because we were going to the truck show, and I might want to buy a McLean truck or something, and there I was, broke by Tuesday. I couldn't even remember what i'd spent it on. So I wrote me a check for $75 that I was going to cash when I went back to work, in case I didn't get to Truck World to get free hot dogs and actually had to buy something to eat. Wednesday we went to throw some trash in the dumpster and Jo was getting papers and miscelaneous items of trash out of the pickup and found an envelope from the bank under the console. Fortunately she noticed there was something in it and didn't just pitch it in the dumpster. Had $154.06 in it. Oh, pictures- saw the old Pete, parked in Madison Heights near Englander Wood Stoves, where I unloaded. Unloading the firebrick at Englander. Otherdog likes Slim Jims, this is the meat stick and cheese combo. He likes to carry them way over there to eat them, sometimes he carries it next door and lays in the yard to eat them. I guess he's afraid i'll want a bite. Saw some animals in South Carolina. This is the old L.G. DeWitt terminal in Ellerbe, S.C. They were pretty big, not sure what happened to them, if they were bought out or just closed the doors. The old rt.220 runs over on the far side, between those pine trees and the building to the right behind the other pine trees. The near building was the trucking operation, the one behind the trees had a fruit stand, where they sold peaches, melons, and vegetables, and their old race shop was there too when they fielded a nascar race car. DeWitt also owned the Rockingham speedway and dragstrip. From the interweb machine-
  3. Well, if you ever need a place to hide out, you could always move to Winfall and get lost among the masses...
  4. Don't worry, I can pick up a couple next time i'm there and mail them to you.
  5. A few weeks ago when I went to New Jersey they had brined 295 and it was 50-some degrees.
  6. I just saw one here in this B 61.
  7. 2 free hotdogs with 75 gallons of fuel at Truck World in Hubbard.
  8. I guess not- Va. just elected McCauliffe gov. and he's stuck right up Obama's ass. It was pretty close, 48% to 45.5%. There was a libertarian candidate running too that probably cost Cuccinelli the election, he got 6.6%. He was probably the best candidate running, but I knew it would be a wasted vote. McCauliffe is in favor of obamacare and gay marriage... Here's what we get- more b.s.
  9. Yep, but the morons are the ones who have to go somewhere- anywhere, just to show everybody that they can I guess. I was going north on 77 a few years ago (ok, time to say "oh no, not another one of his stupid stories!") between Ripley an Parkersburg. It was snowing hard and there was already several inches on the road, not a plow truck had been seen. I was motoring along nicely I thought, probably running about 50 mph, keeping up enough speed to get up the hills with no problem. But I was going too slow for the boy in the red Camaro behind me, so he passed and went on out of sight, until I saw him standing outside his car about a mile up the road. He had run off the road and nailed the guardrail nose first, and was just standing there looking. No, I did not stop, never even slowed down. I went on to the truckstop at Mineral Wells, waited a couple hours and went on my way, it had stopped snowing and everything was fine by then. And then there was the time I was headed east on rt.224, just west of Lodi,Ohio. I was empty, been running in snow and freezing rain since I left Fremont. I watched 3 cars in a row come down a hill and spin out at the bottom. But each one watched the others do it before they started down, like they thought "they didn't make it,but i'm sure I can." One spun out in front of me on my side, and I eased between them and the guard rail and went on up the hill. And that's the scariest part, people panic and hit the brakes in front of you and start sliding, completely out of control. You need to stay off the brakes and off the throttle on an icy bridge, hold it straight, and keep enough forward momentum to get across if possible. Almost learned that the hard way, going up rt.23 in Ohio one night. Freezing rain again, and the bridges were slick. I crossed the river before you get to Upper Sandusky and had to accelerate a little to get across and the instant I did the back end slid over to the shoulder, fortunately at the same time I was off the bridge.
  10. Me neither, must be a custom made raised roof? I didn't walk over and take a close look, took the picture from afar.
  11. Nice looking stuff there, all those cabovers looked good, and the Transtar straight truck looked extra good. And the prices I saw didn't seem to be outrageous. There was a Cargostar there with log racks on it too. I might stop and look around again sometime. I had to go load, was parked on the side of the road, and there was no one around. I don't like to snoop around too much when nobody's there. There's another and much bigger place back down at the junction of rt. 45 and 11 that has a lot more trucks but it looks to be mostly newer stuff. It's called West Point Truck Parts I believe.
  12. I just got a cheap one from Wal-Mart a couple of years ago, but it sure beats the rake method I used to use for leaf removal.
  13. I got them ankle deep all over. When they're up to my knees i'll get the leaf blower out and blow them next door.
  14. I don't get it either, I've had people tell me many times "I met you on 460 (or where-ever) the other day and waved at you and you never even saw me, you were looking straight ahead!" I thought that's where I was supposed to be looking.
  15. I left Chester,W.V. yesterday morning and went to load in Alliance,Oh. I took a drive up rt. 45 to see what I could see. I was expecting to see the usual Astro and some IH's, but I thought I saw a U model, so I slowed down...and they were DM's. But there were 3 B models parked in a row, so I slammed on the brakes and pulled over on the shoulder. I went over and took some quick pictures- The one on the right had a quadruplex , the B75 had a triplex, and the yellow B61 had a unishift trans. in it, first one of them i've seen. I didn't really take the time to give them a close look, to see why the one was $5,000 and the other 2 were much less, but the red one had less rust and was more complete, the other 2 had a lot of rust, missing parts like glass, battery boxes, fuel tanks, etc. All restorable, and a lot of good parts still there too. They had another parts truck too. And an MH. There was a truck parked right in front of it, so I couldn't get a good picture of it. A Transtar IH. Thought this was an H model cab inside the fence across the road. There was a crackerbox GMC in there, but I didn't see it until I was pulling away. This is where all these trucks are located, if anybody wanted to call. I have a few more pics. I didn't post too.
  16. I saw your trucks there, saw them in Winchester too. Got pics on the flickr link.
  17. I'll be heading up to Chester, W.V. shortly.
  18. I was going to buy another McLean truck but a guy in front of me bought the one I wanted. It was a cannonball GMC cab, same as the tanker here, with a canvas top trailer. He had the tanker at first, already in the bag, then changed his mind and got the ragtop van. They were only $25. So then I asked about the McLean crackerbox. As soon as the man said "well, that's a hand built model..." I knew I couldn't afford it. He said "I got a hunnert and a half on it, but I will take a hundred." It didn't really look any better or more detailed than the cannon balls though. I left it there.
  19. Almost forgot this one- here's the official BMT group photo taken at high noon.
  20. Got more pictures here- http://www.flickr.com/photos/28526133@N04/
  21. No Fred, I sure don't.
  22. I went to the Colfax show today, pretty good show and excellent weather. I'll put the pictures on flickr or somewhere later, meanwhile here's a few highlights. Saw a parrot- and maybe one of it's offspring... Some fine looking behinds... I'm picking "D" myself. Girl taking a picture of herself in the shiny bumper. Saw a White with a bulldog on the hood. and a gold Granite They had turkey legs available too. I even saw a yellow General that wasn't even in the show. There were no U models seen.
  23. I feel the same 84Superdog, DigDug, DailyDiesel, and 2stacksuperdog- i'm out of likes by the way. And I've said the same thing about my photos, other people use my pictures on facebook all the time. Sometimes they'll say it's my picture, sometimes not, but in the end- it's still just a picture.
