  1. I wouldn't post this, but I must as a public service to counter the possible ill affects of the previous pictures.
  2. Where'd you go in Madison Heights? That's right up the road a little ways.
  3. I don't know where Hellertown is, but I lollygagged at Opal until 11pm, then hauled ass to Lakehurst when there was little traffic on the road. When I left I didn't stop until I got to the truckstop on 301 in Maryland, then I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner and took a nap until the beltway traffic was pretty much gone then I hauled ass to Petersburg. Fortunately I don't have to run northeast very often, but when I do I can't get away from there fast enough!
  4. It did look like an H 61 in the one picture, but you can tell it's an H 67 in the other. Picture looked warped or something.
  5. ...and now, what really happened- today,2:08 pm-hatcity finds some empty boxes in a dumpster somewhere. 2:09 pm-hatcity comes up with a plan. 2:10 pm-hatcity places boxes on the ground by the right front tire, lifts boom, raises body slightly, takes pictures. Puts empty boxes back in the dumpster, lowers body, lowers the boom. 2:18 pm, races inside to post pictures and calls it a day. p.s.- see, I can butcher more than just pictures.
  6. That explains why my power divider doesn't work. Whenever I needed it I would just blow the horn. Next time i'll try using the switch on the dash and see what happens.
  7. Yep, there's another one over there hooked to a trailer.
  8. I only made one round again this week, but it was a pretty good one...except for the New Jersey part. I took a load of beams to Webb, Alabama then loaded some of those green boxes of landing mats in Enterprise, Al. going to Lakehurst, N.J. Both were pretty good paying loads, the Webb not quite as much as I expected, but the Lakehurst load paid a good bit more than I expected. Took this before I went to load in Petersburg Monday morning when I went to pee behind the trailer was doing my pre-trip inspection. Reminds me of the Transtar I used to drive with the VT903. It smoked like this when it was cold. It was actually coming from the chimney at the shop. No telling what they had in the stove, they put anything that will burn in the stove, even wood sometimes. Saw this train just before I got to Appomattox. Saw this super camper on I-85 after I left Petersburg. Some bullnose Kenworths just east of Montgomery, Al. B models near Auburn, Al. A T800 that's neither blue nor blurry. Green boxes of landing mats in Lakehurst. Good thing I got there when I did with 16 more, they might have run out. Saw this at the mill in Petersburg yesterday when I was loading for Neville Island for Monday...your guess is as good as mine.
  9. This is true- and scary. I remember a safety meeting we had one time and our insurance man told the story of a truck accident where the truck driver was hit by a drunk driver. The truck driver did nothing wrong, the accident was totally the drunk driver's fault. Until he sued anyway and his his big shot lawyer went back and checked the driver's log book and cell phone records for weeks previous to the accident and found some small mistake in his log book where he was about 15 minutes off. Then it was the truck drivers fault, because according to the a-hole attorney he shouldn't have been there for the drunk to hit in the first place.
  10. ...but other things can make up for lack of cooking skills. nothing can make up for being a mean hateful bitch. if you swipe her favorite T shirt and use it to polish your fuel tank and she doesn't get too bent out of shape about it she might be a keeper.
  11. this is an example of "good".
  12. me too, but I don't show any side boobage.
  13. Yes, holy mackerel, Freightrain's an even bigger star now, millions of - well, wait a minute, it could be billions- of people have seen that video now...if they'd all send Larry just one measly dollar bill each, just think of the possibilities...by the way, I sent a dollar several years ago, hope it didn't get lost in the mail.
  14. .
  15. I thought it was a secret ingredient but now everybody's doing it. I was invited to this stew in Pamplin yesterday but I couldn't go because I cooked the stew for the benefit. I didn't really want to go anyway, because i've heard rumors that they're into cannibalism down there...just rumors though, I don't know if it's true or not.
  16. Jeff told me Monday I could take one of the new Internationals and run a mill roll to Milton, W.V. but I didn't because I thought my truck would be ready by Tuesday evening. I did drive a brown T660 to Dillwyn Wednesday to pick my load up. It was just like mine...except it was brown.
  17. That was a good stew. I forgot how many pounds of beast I put in it, plus 5 skinless boneless chicken breastesess, and a gallon each of tomatoes, peas, butterbeans, green beans, corn, 5 lbs. of potatoes, 3 lbs. of onions, a large can of tomato juice and a small can of carrots. I add tomato juice if it needs more liquid so it won't be watered down. I usually drain the liquid from the vegetables, except the corn. And we cut the beef up into bite sized pieces the night before and put it in a ziplock bag, then pour a bottle of Worcestorshire sauce in and let it marinate over night. That adds a lot of flavor too.
  18. that's the secret ingredient. I would have gone back and got that broken clock to hang in my cook shed over the grill in the back yard, but somebody bought it. I think I once had an air freshener in a truck with that same picture on it.
  19. I'd certainly give her a bowl or 3 of stew, she looks like she needs it.
  20. I got pretty much nothing. Only made one trip this week because the truck was in the shop at Truck Enterprises from Friday until Wednesday. They put new springs on the drivers side, but they didn't have the spring so they had to order it on Monday, then they claimed UPS left it in Louisville, Ky. Monday night, so they didn't get it until Wednesday. I did see this nice looking Ford truck in West Virginia. And I saw this smoke coming from the stack at the power plant on rt.7 in Ohio. I was across the river on rt.2 in West Virginia. And the other T800 that I said was blue is actually more gray than blue...ok, it's actually all gray...100% gray, no blue at all. I don't know where I got blue from. Today I made stew for a benefit for a cancer patient. It turned out pretty good, they had a yard sale, auction, BBQ, singers, and I made the stew- free by the way, we just told people to donate whatever they wanted to donate. We served it by the bowl full or in styrofoam cups. I wasn't watching, but I saw some put a dollar in the jar, and I saw others put a $10 bill in. The best part for me was people coming back for seconds, even thirds, and saying it was the best stew they ever had. Getting started... now it's getting there... While the stew was cooking I looked around the yard sale for a minute. Went to ask about a stepladder I saw but it belonged to the auctioneer...then I spotted this broken clock. I could have gotten it for a dollar- what a steal!..But Jo said I didn't need it. The stew chef cook. I have to admit, it looks good enough to eat. And it must have been...
  21. Neat looking truck, looks like excellent work, but it's at $35,000+ now and the reserve's not been met. Good luck getting that kind of money for it, especially when it's not even finished. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1950-Chevy-Truck-COE-/300986034014?forcerrptr=true&item=300986034014&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item46142a675e&forcev4exp=true#ht_500wt_1182
  22. Up well into the 80's just about every truckstop you went in had an aisle with every kind of shift knob, adapters, extensions, and switch covers you could imagine. If I only knew- I would have bought a pickup load of them and put them in the deep freeze.
  23. I don't know how the Keystone Tractor Museum ends up with all these great trucks, they also have Dr. Bill's W-71 and the GMC tanker that was in the "Trucks With 2 Sticks" video, and in the ATHS videos from Long Road Productions. The salesman that comes by the shop from time to time is one of the brothers that owns Abilene Trucking and the museum and he said there's at least one of every kind of tractor ever made, and I can believe that. The museum is a great place to visit, only costs $8 for adults. I heard the guy that drove the green highbinder to Winchester tell some other folks that were standing around that the museum admission price doesn't even pay the light bill. It's well worth stopping to see, they have truck parking too.
  24. No, I drive a "plain jane" T600. It is red though. They only have 2 T800's, one red, one blue. They're both owned by Patsy Moore, Mrs. F.L.Moore, the boss of the company. They're a little fancier, with extra lights, chrome, etc, and have 13 speeds with 3.55 rears. The T600's have 10 speeds with 3.36 rears.
