  1. I saw a new and improved pigmobile you might want to look into too.
  2. I can't imagine either, I mainly just want a place to sleep and some cabinet space for snacks my clothes. Of course I don't live in the truck like some drivers do, and i'm rarely out over a week at a time.
  3. Don't have many pictures, I was on the Petersburg to Milton mill roll run this week. Good run though, interstate all the way and it pays good. Burns your hours up fast though, it's almost 400 miles one way. And you've got to climb lots of hills- Afton Mtn, North Mtn, Sandstone, to name a few. It was hot in Petersburg when I loaded Tuesday. I was sweating and ran the AC most of the day. All that came to an end and it was back to this by Friday morning in Alta, W.V. A mill roll. Had two of them some trips. Other times I had one and 2 more rings in a different rack. The ring is the big part on the roll, that's what forms the beams at the mill. That's what they do in Milton, take the old ring off and put a new one on. Saw this in Winfall on the way home.
  4. I took this one in Greensboro a few years ago. Told Jo to stand beside it for a height comparison. She's only 5' 1" though.
  5. It's at the Keystone Tractor Museum now, that's where I took that picture.
  6. there's something strange about that highbinder, I just haven't figured out what it is yet. I think it's been modified a lot- you can see different lights, bumper, tanks, in the pictures but the way the cab sets just doesn't look factory.
  7. here's F.L.Moore and sons-you can see a red and white B model concrete mixer parked there. I had to switch from the 45 degree view to see it. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=26+monkey+wrench+drive,concord,va.&hl=en&ll=37.357786,-79.003276&spn=0.00146,0.00284&sll=37.380832,-79.125037&sspn=0.023359,0.045447&t=h&hnear=26+Monkey+Wrench+Dr,+Concord,+Campbell,+Virginia+24504&z=19
  8. pretty neat, you can see them in the picture.
  9. Truck Body Corporation in Lynchburg has 5 or 6 sleepers sitting outside, been there a while. I don't know what they came off of, they all looked alike, some are blue and some are orange. Look to be pretty good size ones, tall enough to stand up in.
  10. here's some pictures... two story Falcon KW cbe (cab beside engine). Notice the sleeper across the back. Pretty much everything i've ever read about these trucks indicated that drivers hated them. Another of the highbinder.
  11. No, I thought it was a joke- Dr. Phil telling anyone they need fucking help on a Demotivational poster is a joke, certainly nothing to get all bent out of shape over.
  12. that was the Dr. Phil picture?..I saw that.

    well put randyp!
  14. Holy hamburgers Batman!
  15. To each his own... I like the jokes and other odds and ends as much as anything else here...kinda nice to get a little break from the rat race of trucking 6 days a week. I go to JOT once in a while, it's OK, they have some interesting stuff, but there is absolutely no humor or joking about anything going on there. I also like that there's no "gratuitous cursing" here, never has been to my knowlege. People may say a cuss word here and there, as people do in everyday life. I don't think you can go a day without hearing cussing somewhere, whether it's from people talking, the CB radio, television...it's just how the world is. I miss Rob too, he was great.

That's exactly right, shit does happen, and it can happen to anybody, no matter how good or how careful you think you are. He'll monkey up again if he drives long enough, because everybody does, but I bet he'll never do that again.
  17. He doesn't drive a Peterbilt any more, he drives a red anteater.
  18. I passed by a broke down car in the middle of nowhere once, then a few miles later I saw this girl walking along the road. She turned and smiled when she saw me, but when I looked in the mirror after I passed by she was flipping me off. She might have wanted a ride or something, I don't know.
  19. Great pictures Jay, you win the fictional "kodiakatrony of the week" trophy this week. Hope you don't mind if I turn them over. Had to go back and turn them again...you said you went to Co. and Utah, not Australia right?
  20. He was headed to Amarillo- had to be there by morning.
  21. Remember the "Texas shooter"? He killed 14 people I think it was, and wounded 30-some more at the University of Texas in the 60's. He was shooting from a tower on the campus. His weapon- a 700 Remington bolt action.
  22. I don't know if you can put kerosine in them or not Ed, never heard anybody say. It's probably illegal even if it doesn't hurt anything. H.H. Moore used to have fuel delivered with kerosine already in it in the winter, didn't have to worry about it gelling with kerosine. I asked Todd Thursday if anybody had any trouble with fuel gelling and he said no, but the DEF froze on a couple of trucks. Mine might have froze, I had to buy some on the road for the first time- $13.99 for a 2 1/2 gallon jug, and the man that delivers the bulk DEF to the yard says it's 98 % water. Maybe the super hot exhaust helps keep the fuel from freezing, because it used to be when it got down to single digit temperatures you'd best have some kind of conditioner in the fuel or you were in trouble. Doesn't seem to be the case any more.
