  1. "that's not important- I have a gift for you friend, how about just taking these bags, and you forget everything you saw and heard here?" "well, thanks, but I don't smoke- my girlfriend does though, i'll take it for her. Now scram!"
  2. I'm just guessing, but i'd say the parser owes $927,917 in back child support.
  3. ** We do have the title for this Mack**
  4. Like that Chevelle too. I had a '70 Chevelle SS, it was dark green with white stripes, 396/350, which is the 402 engine. Wish I had a picture of it, I have none. It was bored .030 over, had an Edelbrock Tarantula intake, so the carb. sat like it was twisted a quarter turn clockwise, 780 Holly carb, Crane cam, headers, M22 Muncie 4 speed. I only took it to the track once, and turned a 14.30 at 101 mph. Not very impressive numbers, but - the all important "but"- that was with G70 rear tires. They were really skinny, I was spinning the tires into high gear. The guy I bought it from ran high 13's with an automatic in it, also with street tires. He wanted to keep the trans. to put in a Blazer he was building for sand drags, so I went to a junk yard and bought all the clutch linkage, pedal, etc. I already had the transmission and a good bellhousing. I sold it after I got married the first time, and bought a Pontiac Tempest, with a 3 speed on the column. Here's a picture I "borrowed" from H.K.Trucking. This is the 427 Corvette engine in Herb's '69 Chevelle, but it looks just like mines did, same intake, breather, coil, etc. I did have different valve covers, I had the smooth chrome ones. I'm not gonna post it until I get permission from Herb though, so don't say anything...
  5. cattle are starting to look like alligators around here, or hippos- a lot of them get in the farm ponds belly deep, now i'm seeing some where all you see sticking out of the water is their heads and the top of their backs.
  6. Thank you, and yes, I get it.Hope you get some rain out that way soon. We got a nice shower Friday evening, but that's all it was, a shower. About a quarter of an inch I think.
  7. I always like looking at all these goats on this hillside- can't tell from the picture, but it's almost straight up and down! I was looking towards the sun too. We don't care 'bout no double yellow lines in West Virginia! A red dump truck here's my theory- the road used to keep straight and cross the old steel brigde. then they built a new bridge. rt. 33 between Brandywine, W.V. and Harrisonburg, Va. 33 west of Harrisonburg a green dump truck self explanatory,eh? I took this item to Cuyahoga Falls to be refurbished. The paperwork just said "rotating assembly", the official story was that it came out of a debarker, but I know it's really the main warp-drive shaft for an alien space ship. It's not coming back to Va. when it's done, it's going to an undisclosed location in Texas... some dump trucks, couple of Diamond Reo Giants there. A girl at the Go-Mart I pulled of on top of Gauley Mtn. to pee-I mean, check my straps- with this nice load of maple lumber looking down into the New River gorge- there's a bridge over there you can barely see, that's on rt. 16. Rt.60 bears off to the left and goes up the mountain at Chimney Corners, rt. 16 keeps straight and goes down along the river. Western Star that was at the shop. Don't know what it's for, I think somebody just wanted them to try an automatic transmission. Pretty tuff looking truck though, nice on the inside. Good looking Superliner in Rupert, W.V. Too bad the windshield was filthy. Always check the mirrors when you pull out of the rest area. Could have gotten a good R-model picture if I had the window down. Couldn't get a good picture here either, but it's a riverboat- it was huge! I'm in Steubenville, Oh. here, I had just loaded across the river in Weirton, W.V.

    Vin:

That was one fine looking mixer you drove for Glazier!
  9. That's not answering the question! There's a book by Ron Adams called "Mack Trucks" that certainly covers most, if not all, models of Macks, lots of pictures too. Another good one is "Mack-Driven for a Century" by John Heilig, which also has lots of pictures. There was never a K-model Mack to my knowledge, but there are U-models. So...do they have Outback Steakhouses there? Do you know Andrew? He lives in Australia. In fact, I call him "Andrew from Australia".
  10. oh...yeah, well I guess that would be better than what I was gonna say about a piece of exterior plywood.
  11. Yeah, but not like that Schneider guy. There's some guy out of Wisconsin named Schneider, he drives a bright orange truck and pulls a bright orange trailer. Now he gets around, I see him all over the place.
  12. I drove trucks for years and never had AC. Worst was probably sitting in the chip line in Covington in the summer in that Transtar, hot, dusty, sweating, miserable.I was young then, now I tell Jeff "if the AC goes out, the motor might as well be blowed up, 'cuz I ain't drivin' it!"... I am a pansy ass.
  13. So that's why his name is Dozer- looks like he's about to doze off.
  14. Nice pictures!..and yeah, there are are no more "truck stops". It's all about the tourists and 4 wheelers any more.
  15. I like beavers too- used to have a "I Like Beavers" T-shirt"...oh, trailers....I have no clue.
  16. Oh, happy birthday Mack, and vtmack.

    Vin:

I've always thought that if you start out pulling chips, logs, or a coal bucket you were a truck driver. I hauled chips and pulpwood for years, and you get no respect on the ol' cb for being a chip hauler, but if you haul chips over the mountain or drag a coal bucket through the hills on these skinny 2 lane highways, you're a truck driver. The J.B.CeladonU.S.ExpressSwift super truckers can kiss my ass. That's my 2 cents.
