Like that Chevelle too. I had a '70 Chevelle SS, it was dark green with white stripes, 396/350, which is the 402 engine. Wish I had a picture of it, I have none. It was bored .030 over, had an Edelbrock Tarantula intake, so the carb. sat like it was twisted a quarter turn clockwise, 780 Holly carb, Crane cam, headers, M22 Muncie 4 speed. I only took it to the track once, and turned a 14.30 at 101 mph. Not very impressive numbers, but - the all important "but"- that was with G70 rear tires. They were really skinny, I was spinning the tires into high gear. The guy I bought it from ran high 13's with an automatic in it, also with street tires. He wanted to keep the trans. to put in a Blazer he was building for sand drags, so I went to a junk yard and bought all the clutch linkage, pedal, etc. I already had the transmission and a good bellhousing. I sold it after I got married the first time, and bought a Pontiac Tempest, with a 3 speed on the column. Here's a picture I "borrowed" from H.K.Trucking. This is the 427 Corvette engine in Herb's '69 Chevelle, but it looks just like mines did, same intake, breather, coil, etc. I did have different valve covers, I had the smooth chrome ones. I'm not gonna post it until I get permission from Herb though, so don't say anything...
