  1. yes!!! I'm coming clean...no more b.s. out of me- never again. Just gets you in trouble. Yes Mr. Rebel, it is indeed a Kentworth. Nuthin' like the last Kenworth I drove, the W900L with the N-14 525 Cummins, 13 spd, 3.70 rears-now that was a truck!Unlike the p.o.s. I drive now, with the school bus motor, 10 spd, and 3.36 rears. This is the "new" other dog. My motto-"no more b.s, ever!"
  2. Well,..I, uh...greatly exaggerated the getting thrown all about and bouncing off the walls part- it was just a little bump really.
  3. It could be a U-model...but I think it's a DM.
  4. Does anyone remember a B-model for sale in Gladys, Va. a while back? I think somebody found it on e-bay or Craigslist and mentioned it here, saying it was in my back yard. I offered to go look at it if anyone wanted me too. Reason I was wondering is because Ed stopped by this morning- no, no,not that Ed. This was the Ed that drops off them "Awake" magazines. Real nice guy, I actually enjoy talking to him. I guess most people hide when they see him coming- like Jo does when i'm not here. Anyway, he asked me if I knew where he could find a B-model tractor, just to have one because he likes them. Pretty cool, I thought. He told me about the "one that got away"- a B-model in Gladys that had been sitting in a barn for years that somebody bought for $800. I'd probably have bought it myself, sight unseen, for $800. So, I wondered if it might have been the same one that was mentioned here before. I've tried searching "b-model in Gladys" but found nothing.
  5. Oh yeah, he was real nice about it. You could tell he was very upset with himself for backing into me. No problem getting his name, company, truck and trailer license numbers, insurance info, etc. But, since he was from Pembroke, Ontario and the damage was very minor, I doubt they'll even bother to pursue it further.
  6. You never know, maybe they're for sale. I don't know the story behind any of this equipment, who owns it, or anything else. Same as that first Payhauler I looked at, it's just sitting there in a big lot, abandoned looking. I do remember when they made rt. 19 into a 4 lane, it was a big project, especially on Powell Mtn, and it was probably last used on that road building job. They might know something at that truckstop. When I stopped I parked at the truckstop and just walked over and looked at everything and took pictures, nobody came over and asked what I was doing, or told me to get the hell out of there, or paid any attention to me at all, and I could have been an old equipment spy.
  7. Good story there. I used to go through Wooster all the time when I had a pretty regular run up to Fremont, Ohio.
  8. I'd take the doors off, cut some vent holes in it, and sell it to a chip hauler. It would look something like this-
  9. it's hard to draw a chain, so I drew a string of Christmas lights.
  10. yes, it's some kind of roll off dumpster thing, that truck runs around here every day.
  11. Had to take a load of lumber to Carter Lumber in Meadowlands, Pa. yesterday. I stopped at the truckstop at exit 1 at Mt. Morris, Pa. and got something to eat, then went up to exit 7 and pulled over on the on ramp and went to bed. Didn't stay at the truckstop, or in the rest area at the 6 mile marker because it's also a weigh station/DOT hangout and exit 7 put me north of that, and there's really no place else to stop between there and Meadowlands, at exit 40. I was sound asleep minding my own business when all of a sudden the truck shook and woke me up...I bounced out of the sleeper, ricocheted off the dashboard, flew back against the rear sleeper wall, bounced back into the back of the seats, back into the rear wall, then landed back in the bed...couldn't even remember where I was at first. I got up and looked out the window and saw another truck in front of me, about 15 or 20 feet ahead of me. So I got dressed, got my flashlight, and got out to see what was going on. This other truck had pulled over in front of me, then for some reason decided he needed to back up. He stopped backing up when the back of his trailer contacted the front of my truck. It bent the chrome piece around the grill, bent the screen in the grill in, and it hit hard enough to crack the fiberglass inside the hood too. He was Canadian, from Pembroke, Ontario. He gave me his name, rank, serial number, and insurance information. I took some pictures of the damage. If the insurance adjustor totals it i'm gonna tell Jeff he should get a used truck instead of another new one. A used one with another 550 Cat... Saw a U-model on 501 today too- or is it a DM?
  12. I must admit, the Kodak seemed to take better "drive-bys" than the Canon does, and most of my pictures from the road are drive by.Here's Maria.
  13. My Kodak did great, took literally thousands of pictures with it. I gave it to my ma, she didn't have a digital camera. Martina Shavrilitipova sold me on a Canon, just because she's smokin' hot.

Is it just me, or has the BMT membership continuously growing? Somebody must be doing something right- there's a place for everybody here. There is still serious Mack truck discussion, as it should be of course, but some of these folks who have joined recently or have been here forever are what make this site great to me. Members from all over the world- even Russia. To name a few- randyp, vision386,hatcity,greendash,olivetroad,rowdyrebel,41chevy,bullhusk,David,umodelnut,ben, Timothymaikashouliuawhoo, and on and on and on...great contributors- I love it. People can choose to read only "engines and transmissions" if they want, pay no attention to "odds and ends" if they want, or as I do, read everything that's new- starting with "odds and ends". Great site- my 2 cents. If I were King, I wouldn't change a thing.

  21. ...just don't ask her to marry you right afterwards...
  22. Calling Olive-Ed spelled "peal" wrong-it should be "peel".In case any ones wondering, here's what i'm talking about with the chains- you should always chain it across the front to make sure it doesn't slide. oops, sorry Ed- it was David who spelled peel wrong!..don't know why I was thinking hatcity...anyhow- Olive?
