  1. now you've done it...another picture to file away.might come in handy some day.
  2. I knew as soon as Mark saw the word DUMPER the thread had no chance of staying legit.
  3. I...uh- well, ummm, I ...I just don't know what to say. I was a young feller and even more foolish than I am now when I agreed to be the model for that. I was only 5 feet tall...i've grown a lot as a human bean since then.
  4. folks were very polite then too.
  5. Two Polish hunters got a pilot to fly them into the Canadian wilderness. One morning they walked down to the stream a little ways from camp and saw a huge grizzly about 50 yards downstream. The angry bear immediately charged. "Run!" Yanush shouted to Stashek. Instead Stashek sat down on a rock, pulled a pair of sneakers out of his backpack, and started to put them on. Yanush said "run you idiot, we've got to make it to the trees- you can't outrun a grizzly, even with those sneakers on!" Stashek said "I know - i've only got to out run you".
  6. by the way Vinny, I took a picture of another U-model this week. At first I thought it was the same one as before, but it couldn't be because the other one had snow all over it and this one didn't.
  7. ...reminds me of the one about buckwheat using "dictate" in a sentence...
  8. Well Randy, I am in the same boat. I read everything, now it's time to go see what all the fuss is about. "here we go- git in the boat willy!" (swamp man)
  9. Connellsville...don't know where I got the "Mc" from...anyhow, it was a big yellow tractor, no sleeper. I hope I get by there again soon, i'll be prepared and get a picture. There was an old-early 50's i'd say- 2 ton Chevrolet there, I think a Diamond Reo, plus the Autocar. I'd been by there at night and never noticed them but I left pretty early last Sunday going to Latrobe, the day after the time change, and saw them sitting there. The A-car was tough looking!
  10. 2 dogs on the hood? I had to take a closer look to see what was going on there. Thought maybe it was like the grizzly attacking the dog on the Brockway.

    Good Dog:

you can also let them get cold and then slice it and brown it in a skillet and put syrup on them, very tasty.
  12. Nikki's no help at all- neither one of them's feet will reach the pedals. Next time they should try to commandeer a B-model. Or get a pair of these-
  13. I saw a good looking A-car Sunday near Connellsville, Pa. I believe it was at Rose Equipment, but i'm not sure. It was yellow and very heavy-duty looking, had the squared fenders.
  14. I saw a good looking yellow Autocar on rt. 119 in Pa. Sunday. It snuck up on me so I didn't get a picture. If I pass by there again in the daytime i'll be prepared. Tried to find the place on google earth- I didn't see it, but I think it might have been at a place called Rose Equipment in Connellsville.

    Good Dog:

I like grits better than oatmeal.
  16. well, I used to be, but not any more. I took care of that problem. Have the same thing tattooed on my feets.
  17. no, they're more of those fracking trucks. those are parked at the Mack/Kw dealers lot and over on the other side of 79 there's another place where there's dozens more of them.
  18. that's a postcard I bought at a truckstop in N.C. a couple years ago.
  19. that's pretty much his usual position except when he goes outside. He's storing up energy in case he has to attack intruders intruders or chase a rabbit. He's the best dog I ever had. He's getting pretty old but when I come home after i've been gone for several days he still zooms around like a young pup.
  20. I came home today and kicked my boots off and put my slippers on. I had a load of lumber in Moneta but I got in too late to go load it. I unloaded some rail sections in Richmond today and didn't get unloaded until after lunch. Unloaded it with a knuckle boom, one piece at a time. I was gonna put these pictures up a while ago but it took me a long time to get to the top of the Odds and Ends page- had to read the new stuff first. Some laugh out loud funny stuff there, especially the IRS dog and ebonics replies. Oh, the pictures- if randyp had signs like this on his motor grader he could hear. if randyp had a reach this long he could stay on the bank and dig out a pond. You can go here in Jane Lew, W.V. and get a Mack or a KW,or one of each, at the same place. I saw this at Alta,W.V. Not a Mack but it brings back memories,eh? Old cabover White, chains on the lumber instead of straps...pretty cool. Not a Mack either- This is a Mack, looking good too! Old Bill sent me a really nice genuine Australian Mack hat, and the Toronto Police cap.

    Good Dog:

Amen brother! (bulldogman) ...And a sense of humor is a must-have these days, or you'll just go crazy worrying about things you have no control over.
  22. That's ol' "Hump Hound"- he's uploading and installing-funniest thing I ever seen! It did remind me of Spot- I'd like to have one but I use turbo tax.
  23. When I went to work for H.H.Moore in 1979 I was hauling chips to Covington from Dillwyn,Va. for Westvaco. There was an older fellow there called "hard rock" and he told me once that they sent some trucks up to Rupert,W.V. one winter to haul off of the Westvaco wood yard there. That's the yard Burns hauls from. He said one night it got so cold that every truck they had up there quit running during the night, even with them idled up, except for one- that was the one truck they had with a 318 Detroit in it, the rest were Cummins. Hard Rock said they got some fuel conditioner from Burns,he didn't know what it was, "some stuff they had in a barrell" and they didn't have any more trouble. None of Burns' trucks ever quit either and they were making fun of H.H.'s drivers for "bringing those Internationals up there to do a Mack's job".
  24. I don't think Spot would do that, but Randy said sometimes the pool water has a yellowish tint after Spot dives in.
