  1. I never did , but I remember the first truck I drove with a jake brake. Started down the long hill on 460 between Christiansburg and Blacksburg one night, got up to max speed, put it in neutral, let the clutch out, and the engine cut off . That was when the jake didn't automatically cut off below a certain rpm, it would still work at idle. It was straight down the hill and up the other side.
  2. the dynamike is just another name for mic. gain, the rf gain will let you hear more when turned all the way to the right, even static. you just have to set that and the squelch knob where you like it.
  3. A friend of mine drove for Overnite and when they still used tachographs he told me they could stick something in them somewhere so the needle couldn't go past 55 mph, but it wouldn't let the needle "bounce" and the line was too smooth, so they came up with something else that let the needle move just a little bit so it wouldn't look like it had been tampered with. And yeah, that's a real fine find there!
  4. You could haul hay on it too- somebody was just looking for a B-model to haul hay.
  5. ...when I was deleting them from BMT, thought this one deserved a rerun since it's been long deleted off the computer. Plus, a new one too.
  6. mine says "resize/skew" right under "flip/rotate".
  7. Yeah, it looks like the one I looked at in Appomattox, but i'm not sure. The one in Appomattox is gone, and there can't be too many of them around.
  8. makes perfect sense to me- if your oil pressure is too high, just add some antifreeze, whether it needs it or not.
  9. If the pictures are too big you should have some kind of picture program to resize them. I right click on the picture, then click "open with", then click "paint" on my pc, and I can make them any size I want, and crop anything I want to cut out. If you have that, click on "image" at the top and when the drop down box opens, just click "resize".
  10. Indeed, what Superdog said. Somebody somewhere is probably looking for any parts you can get off the incomplete units, like hood emblems, any sheet metal, doors, fenders, a horn, etc.
  11. There's even a B-model back there behind that tanker.
  12. I was in Roanoke picking up a load Wednesday and happened upon a whole slew of Macks, quite by accident. I was lost. I ran by the place I was looking for, and pulled into Va. Truck Center to turn around. I called the man I was looking for while I was sitting there, and when I pulled back onto rt. 11 going back north I saw all these R-models sitting there. I was taking a picture of the 3000 White as I pulled into the street, and didn't even notice that I had 2 Superliners and an MH in the same picture until I looked at the camera later that night. The White looks like the one that sat in Appomattox for a long time, but I don't know if it is or not. I saw a neat looking R-model in the Tractor House for sale too, and a Superliner, and this other Mack, but I don't know what it is.
  13. That was indeed a great find. Must be a little chilly there.
  14. That looks like Chavez's picture on the billboard in the first picture.
  15. just my opinion, but I like the paint scheme on the red and black model much better than this one.
  16. I always check Hank's to see if there's anything new. Sure enough, there was some big Mack trucks. http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/gian_marco_rousseau.htm
  17. I saw this wrecker in Kentucky. The truck behind it tried to make a u-turn back at that store and got in the ditch, had to call the wrecker to get him out.
  18. I'm tired of all the biguns, it's time to change it up a little.
  19. "Biguns" are plentiful on here today- they're everywhere!
