  1. In front of the Mack factory in Macungie. Pit stop- There's some trucks on the grounds now, but the show doesn't officially start until tomorrow. We're just riding around looking.
  2. What if it's raining at high noon, do you have an umbrella I can borrow?
  3. Yes, but this guy had several buildings in several different places packed full of these old vehicles. I don't have any idea what he did with any of them, if anything. I was kind of curious what they brought at auction, but I never heard. Mecum auctioned off several old GMCs a while back, a D860 and several more, like 630's or something, don't remember, some had 6-71s, one was a 4-71, all 5 speeds with 2 speed rears I think. I don't know what they went for either, but before the auction their web site said they were expected to go for from 90 to $100,000. They were all restored trucks though, looked really nice, maybe not $100,000 nice.
  4. That's like that guy in Lynchburg a while back- he died and they auctioned off his collection of old cars, truck, boats, even an airplane. He had them stashed in several old buildings, and the thing is nobody knew any of them were there until they started moving things out to get the ready to sell. I heard about some that were sitting in one place in Lynchburg and me and Zina went to investigate. Then I saw more of the guy's stuff in Madison Heights that had been in another building when I went to the eye Dr. A fairly young guy I think, filthy rich, and had all these old and rare vehicles stashed around that nobody knew about- weird. I'm pretty sure I posted pictures of some of the stuff here.
  5. I could use a couple of dressers if you run across any good deals.
  6. I wonder if Paul Birch and William Campbell really drove the cannonball? You can tell in a lot of scenes that there's not even a windshield in the truck. I've only seen the 2 episodes that I have on a DVD since I was a kid, many years ago. They're also on YouTube, maybe they're the only episodes in existence now. On a side note, there's a William Campbell High School here between Gladys and Brookneal. Probably named for a different William Campbell though 🤣
  7. This is how he found the D860. He did a little work on it, cleaned it up, and that's about it. I just like seeing stuff like this more than any gussied up Peterbilt.
  8. Yes they are.
  9. That's one of my favorites too, and the one with Freightrain.
  10. I just saw a Facebook post on the fat cab GMC page, J.B.'s truck are already loaded up to go to Macungie. These two are true "barn finds" that you hear about. He's been bringing the Cannonball for a while, I think last year was the first time for the D860. They both have 6-71s.
  11. I don't get it either, somebody posts a video of some asshat on Facebook with the same setup every once in a while. He's throwing 3 sticks around and people ooh and ahh about it. I say the title should read "how gay can you possibly look while driving a truck". I mean what you do on your own time is your own business, but that's how it looks to me.
  12. These are 2 of my favorite trucks, right here. Old GMCs, an 860 Cannonball and a D860. Unrestored, looking like they did when they were still working. And the owner, J.B. Stoltzfus, encourages people to get in them and take a look.
  13. I went to the ATHS National show in Harrisonburg the year before last... wasn't it?.. because Harrisonburg is 2 hours from here and it'll probably never be that close again. I didn't even go when it was in Baltimore, I'm not going to one of the top crime centers in the country unless I get paid to. Harrisonburg was nice though, it was at the fairgrounds and there was plenty of room. I've already heard that they're asking people to drop trailers somewhere else in Reno because of a lack of space at the show grounds. Sounds like they didn't really pick the best spot to have it, I'm sure there are plenty of wide open spaces there that would be better suited for a truck show. Macungie on the other hand runs like a well oiled machine, every time.
  14. I don't know what happened to the JOT site, but this reminded me of another website that I miss a lot- Hank's Truck Pictures. I used to love to get on there and look at all the truck pictures, especially the old ones. Hank's was no surprise though, he said he was going to shut it down. So many people shared so many of the pictures on Facebook that he said there wasn't much point in it anymore.
  15. https://www.flickr.com/photos/28526133@N04/albums Don't worry. Hope Wonder Woman is doing fine, maybe we'll see y'all in Winchester.
  16. I understand there's a pretty big truck show coming up in Macungie, Pa. very soon. In fact, it's been called "the greatest truck show on earth" (Doug Maney, 1986). Just wondering if anybody was planning to go ?
  17. It can do all that and it's also impervious to dents and scratches!.. apparently.
  18. But probably not a bud light.
  19. I thought it was taken in the parking lot at the Hellertown Truck Stop. The story I heard was that a driver had just picked up a brand new red Ford straight truck from the Ford dealership and stopped there for a cup of coffee on his way home. Last I heard he was still there waiting for his free refill.
  20. Yes indeed! I was just reading a post on Facebook about Joe Biden tripping and falling- again- that Gregg Hoffman posted (underdog on BMT, but he's another one who's seldom on here anymore) and he referred to Biden as "hero of the stupid". 🤣
  21. That looks great! I'd like just a slice or two to put on a bun to sample please. Oh, throw some of those baked beans in the envelope too before you put it in the mailbox. Thanks!
  22. Yes indeed, y'all are right. Every night my hands just ache from arthritis, the more I've been toting and lifting during the day the worse it is, and I try to be very careful when I hold anything because I have dropped so many things. After dropping and breaking a couple of 4 or $500 cameras I said enough is enough. I had to get a bigger but not near as good camera to take with me on the road because I could grip it better. And whenever I pick up my my "good" camera the first thing I do is put the strap around my neck. I get up in the morning and both of my knees pop, then I moan and groan and complain about my back hurting for a while, then start the day- after the local news and Family Feud goes off.
  23. I got the bulldog and stuck it to a piece of tape, I'll stick it back on there when I get some glue. One of the mirrors is broken too, and the piece of the mirror bracket is stuck in the hole. I've just got it dangling by the top bracket.
