  1. It just means that the main trans. is an overdrive transmission. 4th. gear is direct drive, 5th. is overdrive. In the compound you have lo-lo, lo split (underdrive), direct, and high split (overdrive). When you're in 4th. in the main and direct in the compound, that's direct drive. That's why you don't use the compound in 5th. main, you shift from 4th. hi to 5th. hi. 5th. in the main to lo split or direct in the compound would actually be downshifting. 4th. main and hi split in the compound is almost the same ratio as 5th. main and direct in the compound, 5th. main to lo split would be a downshift.
  2. You're right Bob- I've used up my "likes" for the day.
  3. you're exactly right-that's why it's so funny!
  4. That's it...i'm laughing so hard i'm -never mind, first time i've seen that in years!

  6. I.. .'.. m .... a ... s l o w... o n e ... f i n g e r ... t y p e r .
  7. One of Eddie Murpy's first concert tapes was hilarious- made me laugh every time I listened to it- he used to be funny. I loaned it to someone and have never seen it since. It's the one where he's impersonating Mr.T, Jackie Gleason, Michael Jackson I think...but the Mr. T cracked me up every time, if I listened to it 15 times in a row i'd laugh just as hard the 15th. time. Chris Rock is funny now, can't remember any of his one-liners. I think it's this one, don't know if the Mr. T part is on here though- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2EIra4SYoE
  8. So, you don't like my dog?..everybody loves otherdog- he's very affable.
  9. Went to the flea market in New London this morning. Usually pass by it when I leave on Sundays but i'd never been there to shop before, so I figured i'd take Jo on a great adventure...the flea market. Actually, to my surprise, they had a lot of good stuff there, some nice looking guns too, some brand new. I bought a hand full of old wrenches from a woman. She wanted $35 for them and I told her i'd come back later. So after she asked what I was thinking and I told her it would be an insult to her, she insisted, I said 10 bucks, she said 15, so I bought them. Didn't need any of them, but most were old and most were made in the U.S.A. Some were just junk. I also bought this belt buckle because it had a truck on it for $4.
  10. yes, you just drive it like a triplex on the road.
  11. I think that pickup that passed messed him up a little bit. You know he wanted to hit the big hole right when he got to the camera but he had to back out of it just a little. But that's how 4 wheelers are, they see a truck and feel like they must be in front of it, even if they're turning off at the next driveway.
  12. My '72 Rally Nova. It was later totaled.
  13. you have to go back a looooong ways, but you can find the whole story of "Spot the Wonder Dog" somewhere back in Odds and Ends. 14. Saw more things this week- an oversize load at the rest area just inside the Pa. line on I-80. The big orange Mack in West Virginia- it was a little blurry though. Even when otherdog is off duty he sleeps with one ear awake to listen for any suspicious activity. That's his donkey, but he doesnt play with it any more. He chewed it's ears off, then lost interest in it.
  15. waa-waa-waaaaaa...
  16. now you've done it...another picture to file away.might come in handy some day.
  17. I knew as soon as Mark saw the word DUMPER the thread had no chance of staying legit.
  18. a lot evidently.
  19. I...uh- well, ummm, I ...I just don't know what to say. I was a young feller and even more foolish than I am now when I agreed to be the model for that. I was only 5 feet tall...i've grown a lot as a human bean since then.
  20. folks were very polite then too.
  21. Two Polish hunters got a pilot to fly them into the Canadian wilderness. One morning they walked down to the stream a little ways from camp and saw a huge grizzly about 50 yards downstream. The angry bear immediately charged. "Run!" Yanush shouted to Stashek. Instead Stashek sat down on a rock, pulled a pair of sneakers out of his backpack, and started to put them on. Yanush said "run you idiot, we've got to make it to the trees- you can't outrun a grizzly, even with those sneakers on!" Stashek said "I know - i've only got to out run you".
  22. by the way Vinny, I took a picture of another U-model this week. At first I thought it was the same one as before, but it couldn't be because the other one had snow all over it and this one didn't.
  23. ...reminds me of the one about buckwheat using "dictate" in a sentence...
  24. Well Randy, I am in the same boat. I read everything, now it's time to go see what all the fuss is about. "here we go- git in the boat willy!" (swamp man)
