  1. hey, that sounds just like the new KW i'm driving!
  2. I saw a neat looking DM with a V8 for sale in the auction time paper. Opening bid's only a hunnerd bucks, you might get it for $101.92. Think i'll go ahead and bid $794.23 on it though. I'm joking, somebody go ahead and bid $101.92 on it. Saw a video of it here- http://www.auctiontime.com/OnlineAuctions/Details.aspx?OHID=3192183&lp=trk&bcatid=27& but it's obvious the guys making the video have no idea how to drive it.
  3. I was thinking it was made by Pacific Truck and Trailer, not the PACCAR we all know and love. That's real bitchin'.
  4. I was leaf blowing all yesterday afternoon and I was tired after I ate supper, home made chili, ready to call it a day, and started watching this show about Texas hog hunters and stayed up watching until almost midnight. There was a man, his wife, a grown son and daughter, and a whole bunch of dogs like Spot. They'd all go out and hunt pigs, the dogs would catch 'em then they'd grab them and tie their legs and throw them on the Jeep and go home and make sausage. That's a very condensed version right there, but I liked it. Dogs like Spot. And the daughter was looking good- big boobs and packing heat too!
  5. He used to bring the shorter tall boy to shows, but I haven't seen it in the last couple of years. Here's a picture of them when they used to have the Colfax show just up the road a mile or so at the Greensboro NAPA warehouse. I told Jo to stand by them so you could get an idea just how big they really are. She's not full size though, she's only 5' 1''. Old Bill knows his Corbitt stuff too! http://www.thediesel...ruck_Show-2.htm
  6. now I feel guilty for not planting any peppers this year...and not making any sauce. It was so dry all summer the garden didn't do much but the peppers always seem to do good, and I didn't even plant any.
  7. This Corbitt was on the cover of the new Wheels of Time, along with a couple of good articles about Corbitt trucks.
  8. cut-copy-paste-cut-copy-paste...see, I made a bigger mountain out of a smaller mountain-
  9. I have a Diamond T heavy hauler. Had to drive it out of the cabinet to take the picture, but it wasn't hard with all those pivot points. Hardest part was backing it back in there again.
  10. just call Teresa, she'll pass it on to him.
  11. Yes, he sold this one after he bought his new one.
  12. I saw the orange one's brother.
  13. Actually, I even told him about all the intake valve actuator faults. He said he'd had the same problem with the 377 he was driving. I think he'll be well pleased with that truck. I was, it was a great truck-looked good, ran good, pulled good, just had the occasional minor malfunctions. I called Jeff last night to tell him the story and his lovely wife Teresa answered the phone. When I told her she said "tell Jeff, if you don't mind repeating it". Then I heard Jeff say "he don't mind repeating it, he loves to hear himself talk". He was pretty impressed that it sold so quickly. The salesman had said he'd probably get fired for giving Jeff as much as he did for the truck, i'm not sure how much, but Jeff said last night "well, I guess ol' Harold won't have to worry about being fired now, because he gave me about ten thousand more than I thought the truck was worth".
  14. I took them off and put my spare key on the ring, but I don't remember what I did with them, probably threw them away- but they might still be around. I even put the Peterbilt emblem off the key ring on my KW key.
  15. He's already bought it, they're prepping it for him now. Said they took the tanks off so they could paint them purple to match the fenders. He went to check out the orange one, but as soon as he saw ol' double nickle that was it, he had to have that one.
  16. I hauled mill rolls to Milton, W.V. first of the week, then when I unloaded in Petersburg Wednesday I had to get a load of beams going to Jacksonville. That's in Florida. Then I picked up coiled rebar in Baldwin, Fl. -48,610 lbs.by the way- and unloaded in King George, Va. today. I pulled out of Gerdau-Ameristeel and pulled over across the road to put my wood away, because Ameristeel won't let you get on your trailer on their property (a-holes!). A fellow driving a green Peterbilt pulling a dump trailer stopped and asked about the company I drive for, how long i'd been there, if they had good trucks, etc. I thought he was interested in a job but it turned out he'd been looking at a truck we recently traded at Truck Enterprises in Lynchburg. It was a burnt orange Peterbilt he said, probably this one- http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3173891&dlr=1&pcid=2000723038 Then he said he spotted his truck, another former F.LM. unit- a silver Peterbilt with purple fenders,550 Cat engine,3.55 rears, 18 speed trans, drop sun visor. I told him i'd driven that truck since Jeff bought it until a few weeks ago, then spent the next 15-20 minutes telling him what a great truck it was. He asked me for my phone no. so I gave him Rob's, and he left there looking as happy as a dog with 2 dicks.
  17. All I know is it was a nuclear power plant...don't remember the name, but that's probably the place.
  18. Here's an original Reo... and an original Diamond T... and a Diamond REO... Those Diamond T's were good looking trucks, like a Bighorn Dodge, ahead of their time and would look good today...just my opinion. http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/dt_trucks.htm
  19. I don't know about that, i'm a one finger typer!..then I had to go look at a history book, "Big Rigs of the 1950's" to see if I had my facts straight before I posted.
