  1. Thanks David, likewise! I enlarged the picture on the camera on the way home and saw the owner's name was Jay. I'd say those Macks have been sitting right there on 158 for close to 2 years. I first saw them when I was passing through in the truck, and they were still there when I went to Lincolnton last year, and they're still there now. They're sittin between Stokesdale and Walkertown, just past the Sheetz if you're going towards Winston Salem.
  2. Had a great time at the show today. This is the 3rd. year i've been to Lincolnton and despite the heat it was the most trucks and most people yet. I would have stayed a little longer but the heat was really getting to Jo, plus she has sciatica and her leg hurts when she has to walk a lot. When we came back through Winston-Salem the thermometer said 98 degrees. By the time we got to Altavista it was 101. Met one of our BMT members there, real nice fellow- goes by the name "David". I also met Johnny Click, a Fed-Ex driver who has pictures on Hank's Truck Pictures. http://www.hankstruc...ohnny_click.htm Here's just a few of over 200 pictures I took. As usual, i'll put most of the rest on webshots or photobucket, then i'll post a link to it but i'll save that project for tommorrow. I gotta make a couple of picture discs too, then i'll crop and resize them before I put them on webshots. Here's a nice one for Rob- Because I know you won't like these- Jo was standing in front of these trucks and she looked so hot and tired the owner gave her a bottle of water, so she told him i'd post his trucks on here. See, she's hugging that little bit of shade whenever she can- Saw a good looking U-model. Lots of B-models-I really liked this green one. F-model- There was even a "Japanese Freightliner" there- And those Macks on rt. 158 that I first saw well over a year ago are still sitting there- stopped and got a couple of pictures on the way home. And I only bought 1 item for myself- had to have this B-model T-shirt! And last but not least- the hot babe of the day-front...and rear! ...and the hot babe of the day first runner-up front- ...and rear-
  3. Y'all use way too many big words for me, i'm gonna start a new topic and only use little words and lots of pictures.
  4. Here's some pictures from last year's show- http://rides.webshots.com/album/578301593qEKAFT
  5. I really like the red one, but i'd hit them fenders with some black Krylon. I like rattle cans.
  6. I would do that, but I don't have a dog sitter and that regular cab Ford Ranger ain't big enough for me, Jo, and the dog. Probably be too small for the two of us before we get back, might have to put her in the back. Here's a picture of her at Lincolnton from last year.
  7. Made one trip this week, to Warren, Ohio. After taking 8 hours to get loaded in Lynchburg Monday, in near 100 dgree heat, I didn't get to Warren until lunchtime Tuesday. Then I couldn't get to Monongahela by 2 pm to pick up so I had to layover and load Wednesday morning. I wanted to get another trip in, but when I unloaded in Petersburg yesterday morning I came to the shop and called it a week so I can go to Lincolnton Saturday. Saw this heavy duty wrecker in Broadway, Va. Load I picked up in Monongahela

I'm trying...worked on my shed some today...feels strange to be sippin' the bud light on Monday though.

      Monday?!! Already?!!

      damn, vacations almost over!

  9. yes,we were talking about hotdogs.
  10. It's larger so you can cook enough hot dogs for everybody at the same time.
  11. yep, that 300/5 speed F-model I drove never let me down, and I hauled over 50,000 lbs. regularly. I could go all the way up Christiansburg mountain in 4th. gear with 25 tons of fertilizer in a van. It was slow starting off, but once I got going it was left lane!
  12. and thanks for the picture, i'm sure it can be put to good use in the future.
  13. I watered the wasps. I gotta rest up for tomorrow, i'll finish 'em next week.
  14. Geez, some people just don't believe anything without photographic evidence. I rented a plane a while ago and took this aerial photograph of my house. Got this first hole finished, got 3 more to dig. I heeded Hatcity's advice and biggerized it from what it was at first.
  15. I love cold- hate heat! hate snow! hate ice!
  16. I don't forward or post a lot of e-mail I get, but as I was looking through and deleting 139 e-mails I had, this one sent to me by my uncle seemed to be worth posting here- What the "H" is wrong? Remember, not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only 30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500. If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working (me) you'd have $892,919.98. If you took out only 3% per year, you receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years, and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month. The folks in Washington have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madhoff ever had. I didn't try to clean up the language in this message. It makes a better impact as it is. Entitlement my ass , I paid cash for my social security insurance!!!! Just because they borrowed the money , doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout !! Congressional benefits , aka. free healthcare , outrageous retirement packages , 67 paid holidays , three weeks paid vacation , unlimited paid sick days , now that's welfare , and they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements !!!!!! what the HELL's wrong??? WAKE UP AMERICA !!!! Tuesday's Daily Bulletin paper, ran two articles on the front page side by side : 1- Calif 's 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit 2- The Calif Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college and get benefits. Why don't they just deport them when they arrive to register? 3- Last year they ran an article on the yearly costs to Calif Taxpayers from Illegals using Hospital Emergency Rooms for their general health care - At just one hospital the cost to tax payers totaled over 25 million a year Someone please tell me what the HELL's wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!! We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,??????????? In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey . And now Pakistan ......home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!! Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries! They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans. AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc. etc. YET..................... They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies. Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.
  17. wow, you replied almost 3 years ago, and i'm just now noticing! It's a White Compact.
  18. well...maybe I can go another inch or so...and use more quikrete.
  19. I've already got instructions for my next mission! I gotta unload these coils in Lynchburg in the morning, then load for Warren, Ohio. All day job getting loaded at this place, then gotta tarp it.
  20. I dug a few holes today. 4 actually, but never mind what they were for- if I said I was going to slap up some kind of shed over my grill i'd just open myself up for more ridicule . But I dug 4 postholes because I had nothing else to do, and the ground was so dry it was like powder 8-10 inches deep. No moisture at all. Guess i'll just get some quikrete and put it around the posts, because you can't tamp powder and the holes are only 8-10 inches deep. Couldn't go deeper because of tree roots, rocks, and besides all that, it was too much like work. I'd dig a little, then have a cold drink and rest. Had a cooler sitting on the picnic table with beer and ice in it, and a bottle of Clamato juice. Clamato juice is delicious by itself, but drink 2 swallows of a beer, then pour Clamato juice in it, that's just awesome- great drink! So I noticed some yellow jackets and even a butterfly came over to have a drink. I told them "fine, just don't sting me". They said "no way, absolutely not sir, we'd just like a drink- it's awful hot out here, dry too". So I poured them some beer and Clamato juice on a block of wood- even put an ice cube on it for them. The butterfly didn't drink so I just poured it some Clamato juice on another block of wood- actually the knot that fell out of the shelf on the grill. You might be thinking "what a bunch of bull$#!+!", but I actually took pictures to prove what I say- except for that hole digging part.
  21. Rowdy,..Rowdy- you and this heat thing- just admit it, you hate it too...don't you?
  22. We need rain here bad! As usual, my garden started out looking great- then no rain and close to 100 degrees every day for weeks has just about killed everything. I'm getting plenty of tomatoes but that's all.
  23. Think i'll go outside and dig a hole. I cleaned the truck out a little today. Wanted to wipe it down on the inside with pine-sol, but we didn't have any so I mixed white vinegar and water-cleans OK but now it smells like a pickle factory... which is better than smelling like funk I guess.
  24. It was probably lighter than your Thermoking unit.
