A cop is on routine patrol one day when he sees 2 Swift trucks pulled over on the shoulder. He stops to see what the problem is. He doesn't see anybody, knocks on both trucks, gets no response. He hears a noise over in the woods and goes to investigate. He finds one driver bent over a log with the other driver standing behind him, 'driving him home'. The cop says "what in tha' hell's going on here?" The Swift driver says "this driver was having a heart attack". Cop says "well that's not what you do if he's having a heart attack, you should give him mouth to mouth rescescitation!"(?) Swift driver says "I did- how do you think all this got started?"

crap...how boring...you should have gotten out of the corn field and onto the highway and opened it up, tested that splitter! You'll probably have to run it a while before it shifts really smooth, it's all stiff now because it's new. After a while it'll prolly shift like a Peterbilt with 735,000 miles on it...of course then you'll be wanting a Peterbilt...the story never ends...

changing the subject slightly- here's some pictures- this is 4 pieces of steel, 10,000 lbs. each, that I picked up in Masury, Ohio and delivered to Craneworks in Pamplin, Va. An orange truck. My comments- "what's this Schneider truck doing in here?" "Oh- keeping with the vegetable theme, this is the pumpkin?" A yellow truck- my comments- "wtf is this, a bulldozer?"..."no, it's a short bus" "oh- keeping with the vegetable theme, this is a squash?"

Again, you're absolutely right- the old story, tax the rich man who builds custom luxury yachts, he's rich, he can afford it. Then "hmmmm...why should I keep building these luxury yachts for other rich people, there's no profit in it anymore after I pay taxes, and I didn't get rich by being stupid- i'll just fire my 53 employees and retire." yes it would Bob, but i'd probably have to sell the place to afford it, then I wouldn't have a driveway. If the camper trailer was included that could work though, I could just become a nomad.

and union greed is a big part of the problem. The teachers union is so strong it's almost impossible to get rid of bad teachers, the U.S.Postal Service is about to go bankrupt because of former union contracts, i've mentioned before the dozens of trucking companies unions put out of business, and go to any union steel mill and try to pick up a load and see how long it takes vs. a non-union mill. I'm not anti-union at all, but enough is enough. People just seem to expect more and more and more for doing less and less. How can it possibly help a company stay in business and create jobs if they have to pay workers for doing absolutely nothing- "my machine's down- I could push that 'reset' button and fix it, but that's not my job. I'll have to call maintenance to come push that button. They're on the other side of the plant changing a light bulb right now, then they get a 15 minute break, then they'll be over to push the button and i'll be back in business. Meanwhile, i'll go take a dump and read the paper."

Yes, it is normal to have to ease off the clutch a little when sitting still then push it all the way down to get it in gear. The clutch brake stops everything and the gears might not be lined up until you ease off it a little.Just don't push the pedal all the way to the floor when you're moving, or the clutch brake will last about as long as Pat stayed in the army.
