  1. I was passing through Illinois, minding my own business, when I saw a sign at a farm equipment dealer about an antique farm equipment show this weekend. It was at exit 197 on I-74, between Champaign/Urbana and Danville. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about it because after I saw the sign I met some great looking tractors -not even sure if that's the show they were headed too,but I saw one in particular parked in a rest area that I was trying to find a picture of. Looked like the Minneapolis Moline model with the full cab on it, but this one was red and looked like a '50 something Ford pickup truck. Same grill and front end, cab sitting back over the rear wheels.Really neat looking! I don't know if it was a Minneapolis Moline somebody put the Ford truck cab on, or something someone built in the barn one winter.Wish I could have gotten a closer look at it.
  2. I've heard rumors of such a place too, but I'm not sure where it is. I travel 15 quite a bit and there's nothing you can see from 15. You can turn off of 15 south of Fork Union to get to P.L.Duncans place, and he has about 100 or so old trucks, but i've heard there's another place too up in that area with a lot of B-models. http://rides.webshots.com/album/572065624hKgZmm These are trucks I took pictures of at P.L.Duncan's a few years ago.
  3. I didn't even feel it, I was near Covington, on the way to Minnesota. Jo called and said it shook the house here and rattled bottles on the table. One of our drivers lives in Louisa and it knocked 2 tv sets off his walls, dishes out of the cabinets, and cracked his foundation. And his homeowners insurance didn't cover earthquake damage.
  4. good call on "fixin' that post"!
  5. That's what i'm talkin' 'bout, strength in numbers! I usually get fuel at Truck World in Hubbard a couple of times a week. Been loading in Sharon a lot lately, probably be there tomorrow.
  6. We used to use ATF a lot, I always heard it kept the injectors clean. Now they put the same red dye in off road fuel and there's a hefty fine if they catch you with that in the tank, but you'd probably be all right with an antique vehicle. Never know though- I know a man real well that put just enough off road fuel in his truck to get back to his shop and they stopped him and checked his fuel. He said that was the only time he'd ever done it and he got caught- fine was over $1,000!
  7. That's kinda what I was saying, first thing I do when I get home is check BMT for new stuff. There's great entertainment here, amongst other things, like knowledge, help, advice.
  8. silly girl- does she not know I'm wearing my Darth Vader helmet at all times?
  9. I saw a picture of an old Oliver tractor once and it looked like it had a Detroit Diesel engine- I asked my daddy if they used Detroit Diesels and he told me that indeed they did. We went to an Oliver dealer to look at tractors before he bought the Ford 5000, but the hitches they used was ...weird I guess, hard to remember now, but it wasn't the typical 3 point hitch, that's why he didn't buy one.
  10. Great Rob, hope Nikki's doing well!- tell Kinley to e-mail me as soon as she's able, i'll teach her some cuss words to throw at Nikki. (just kidding- Kinley, you should never disrespect your mother!..or father...or grandparents!)
  11. You go to the Chinese buffet too?..tastes great, have no clue what it is!
  12. Sorry...I must be an A-hole...sometimes I can't seem to stop myself, this was a serious question.
  13. I had the exact same wheel, and when I took the horn button off I found this- couldn't get it back on fast enough!
  14. oh...what I meant to say was
  15. That's why I do beer-I mean Pepsi and Coca Coler cans. Now, on a serious note- Hank's truck pictures was a great place to go, I looked at every single picture on there when my wife was sick. Might have kept me from going crazy...when she could sleep, that's where I was, looking at truck pictures. Started at the top, left to right, every single picture- kind of took my mind off what was going on.That's why I sent him a couple of donations, I felt like it was worth that and more to me. Now, six years later, I consider bigmacktrucks.com my favorite website except for "hotasionmidgetlesbos.com" and consider a lot of people here to be friends even though i've not met a lot of them. I've met a few members in person, even Barry-though he probably doesn't remember-and the most famous member, Rob, but a lot of those I haven't met I would call "friend". So that's the reason i'd be willing to help out any way I could. thank you for reading- I must be off now.
  16. I just push down on the chromium plated handle...sometimes I have to do it twice though.
  17. I'd be willing to get Jo to take my empty cans to Cycle Systems and donate the proceeds...would do it myself, but i'm way too lazy.
  18. .
  19. I have an ideer- Hank's Truck Pictures is a free site, but he also has a place near the top of the page where you can make a contribution to help keep the site going if you want to. I've sent him 50 bucks a couple of times, maybe that would be of help here. If every member gave 10 dollars, that would be....a lot of money! Most wouldn't of course, but a little contribution from a few could help...just a thought. (Paul Van Scott)
  20. RandyP!- Welcome back, hope you're doing well!
  21. I've only had minor breakdowns too, just a lot of them. None lately thankfully. One starter, 2 alternators I think, 718,000 miles now. You know how some people exaggerate!
  22. This one- first one must not have worked.
