  1. I bought a snow shovel once, and it didn't snow for 3 years. First time I used it the handle broke. Maybe I should buy another one.
  2. I've been doing fine, was running like a scalded dog most of the year, but haven't been anywhere since before Christmas. Still talk to Joe periodically, he's already wanting to hit the road again.
  3. Hell yeah, all that and b.s. is about all I sling!
  4. More pictures of the B-model from Hank's Truck Pictures- check out that interior! Before it's present restoration- And after
  5. That's the same strategy that Watkins Abbott used in Appomattox, except he collected tractors. When his wife noticed one she hadn't seen he'd say "oh, i've had that one for a long time". Must work.
  6. I worked out a trade for the mixer. Leversole is going to start driving south and i'm heading north in the mixer. We're gonna leave at the same time and when we meet, probably somewhere around Culpeper, Va. we're just gonna swap vehicles.
  7. No, not off on a mission. I just called headquarters to see where I was going...no answer. Must be taking a holiday.
  8. The other ones were back farther east, towards Gettysburg. They were also right by the highway, in a big lot with lots of construction equipment , earthmovers, dump trucks, etc.
  9. Not that I could see on google earth street view.
  10. 5630 Chambersburg rd.- that's U.S. 30. Probably Cashtown, Pa. but i'm not sure, it's not really in town. They're west of Cashtown, east of rt. 233.
  11. Me neither. If I had to chain up i'd have to call Mark or Bob and I don't have their number, so i'd be s.o.l. Rowdy ain't gonna buy no brass wing nuts- the thing to do is weld some tabs on the u-bolt nuts and put a good coating of never seize on the threads so you can get them off easily without using a wrench.
  12. They're not that far from the red b-model. only this much on the map-
  13. Ah-Hah!
  14. OK, I'll look now.
  15. Well, imagine that! I did not find these trucks anywhere between Gettysburg and I-81, but I did find that B-model I saw before. Actually it's red with a white stripe. These 2 are both at the same location. I'll look north of 81 later.
  16. Can't believe I didn't pin the location on that truck I saw on google earth. Did see an old Autocar on rt. 16 in Pa. that I pinned. The b-model I saw was white with a red stripe around it. I also saw the same truck on a youtube video about old trucks. I'm going to google 5630 Lincoln Highway now- the no. on the building in the picture is 5630, and if you were coming from Gettysburg you were probably on 30, eh?
  17. Use your grill then. I actually cooked a delicious pot roast entirely on the grill yesterday.I threw the roast on the grill and browned it good on both sides, then I transfered it into an aluminum foil lined aluminum roasting pan, added potatoes, onions, a can of carrots, and a can of beast broth. Covered the pan with more foil, couple hours later it was done. And good too!
  18. One of our former drivers told me about some place in Pa. that he passed by and saw some old trucks and said the exact same thing- "they look like they were driven there and parked". He said one was a B-model hooked to an old reefer- that could be where he was talking about. I searched google earth for a long time looking where he thought he saw them. I did find a B-model but he said that wasn't the one he saw. I'll see if I marked the spot on google earth.
  19. but you wouldn't have to worry about getting stuck in the corn field.
  20. maybe taller tires would be a better/easier way to go.
  21. Amen brother!
  22. There's a place called Short Pump just west of Richmond on rt. 250. I believe they moved the old Short Pump Garage down to the Rockville exit off I-64 where they have a big antique machinery and equipment show every year, that's probably where that picture was taken. Overnite was based in Richmond.
  23. yes, I was sitting at a red light. That's why I didn't call it "just before the impact..."
  24. That is a great looking truck! And i'm closer than Rob, i'll catch a ride with the next driver going to Milton Steel and drive it back here and store it for you for free.
