  1. Gee, you really haven't changed much over the years.
  2. oh- been there before. I edited the post and changed it to something entirely different so it would appear like I knew what I was doing all along.
  3. tried to start the mixer today to go to the Christmas parade but the attempt failed. Tried to jump it but that failed too.

Jumping from a single truck? Will take a long time. Add a second vehicle and cables to speed the process up considerably.

I only had one truck, the Ford Ranger.Turned over pretty good yesterday, but had no ether or cables. It was very sluggish today, only about 30 degrees.Should have pulled that Peterbilt up there to jump it, but I was too lazy to drop the trailer.

  4. I told you to calm tha f@#* down- just take it easy. I'm sure chief deputy Rhasler is hard at work on the case as we speak and he'll be assisted by your dog Spot, soon as he's done takin' care of some personal binness. Think they said they were going to central Illinois first to see if they could sniff out any clues. Meanwhile, think i'll go to the parade then hit the buffet on the way home.
  5. Seems that Spot has other things on his mind. Even super heroes need a break sometimes...
  6. tried to start the mixer today, but it wouldn't quite go. So, I was gonna hook the jumper cables up to it but I couldn't because they were at home instead of behind the seat where they're supposed to be!

If you ever pass thru Concord, it's parked at F.L.Moore and Sons Trucking.

hmmmm...wonder if there's a connection? Could be our first clue.

  7. I was just up there but I didn't see her- good thing too, i'd have surely jacknifed trying to get stopped!
  8. Hey!..calm the f#@* down! Just because i'm sheriff doesn't mean I never have to go to the bathroom-can't be in 2 places at once. You prolly left the keys in it anyway. This is a top priority case so i'll get my men on it right after lunch- unless they're at that "all you can eat" buffet again. If that's the case it'll be in the morning sometime.
  9. Hey, how come sheriff other dog don't get to pack heat like Randy does? He looks pretty stout though, probably don't need to be packing any heat.
  10. I'm sure I could gussy it up like your other one. Oh, I just happen to still have it here...
  11. Jeff said the owner of Abilene trucking bought a couple of those trucks but I don't know which ones. They sold several old Autocars too, unrestored. I didn't know that the Peterbilt salesman that comes by the shop a lot was the Abilene owner's brother until Jeff Moore told me. He said they had an antique truck museum in Colonial Heights at exit 52 on 95 too, but I didn't see anything about it on Abilene's website. Found the website for the museum- looks like mostly tractors, but a few trucks too. I see they have Gary Barr's Diamond T there too. I wondered what happened to it when Gary passed away. http://www.keystonetractorworks.com/
  12. I must agree whole heartedly, that Rob does indeed need this truck. He does.
  13. Saw this 3000 White sitting just east of Appomattox on rt. 460 at Wayne Moore's shop. I saw it last Sunday and was going to drive down there today and take some pictures, but it would have been dark by the time I got there, so I just got a drive by picture when I went by on the way back to Concord. Didn't I see this truck on here a while back, or a link to e-bay or something? Seems to me it said the truck was in Appomattox and the seller was in Maryland or somewhere. Know I saw it somewhere before. Also, I finally remembered to bring the auction brochure from the L&H Trucking sale. Sale was Nov. 18, but here's some bad pictures of some of the antique trucks they sold. And I should throw this picture in,because it's just a great picture,eh?
  14. Wow, that "buzzin' dozen" sounds bitchin!
  15. I'll throw my chains and binders and a few gallons of oil (got a Detroit ya know) in the passenger side floorboard, the rest of my stuff i'll have to carry on the trailer. Gotta get a headache rack on it too, I can store some stuff there.
  16. Yeah, that wind was something on Monday around here. Thought it was gonna blow me off the road a couple of times on the way to Orchard Park-with a flatbed! Went through a couple of whiteouts from snow blowing across the road so hard I couldn't tell if I was still on the road or out in a cornfield. You should tell Dozer to cut back on those late nights at the bar. He might be wearing a disguise, but I know it's him.
  17. I went back to the historical archives down at the courthouse and found a picture of his first one-
  18. ...hmmmm, haven't played "fix that post" for a while- Wow,I can see why. Expensive poles in Illinois, must be mahogany or teak.
  19. Left Monday going to Orchard Park,N.Y. Took a few pictures on rt. 219,except the last one was I-79 south of Erie. the R-model was in Monongahela,Pa. where I reloaded.
  20. I'm just waiting for him to do something...
