  1. Jeff Burton is Ward Burton's brother.
  2. Here ya go...all that good bbq here and Jobyna wants to go to Altavista to the Chinese place!..guess we're heading to Altavista. That's all right-i'll load of another big container of it to take with me tomorrow. I could have unloaded those bricks in Palmyra today right after lunch, but I wouldn't have many hours left to do anything else, so i'm gonna go unload in the morning.
  3. I met the man,the myth, the legend himself Sunday. I was pretty much in awe,but not so much that I didn't get a picture of him to post-without his knowledge of course. Of course,it would have been better if it were in the daylight,or if the flash worked on my camera, but as Jeff Burton says at least 17 times whenever he's interviewed-"it is what it is".
  4. yes-hi everybody...hee-haw!
  5. that was always my plan. I had new chains, but I know about as much about tire chains as I do about flying an airplane.
  6. yeah,was going cheaper...now i'm going to bed
  7. ummmm...i'm not sure-excuse me if I interrupted anything.
  8. I figured, but it was too much like work to change all that,so I took the easy route...i'm a world class slacker.
  9. for Rob to call. But I think he's shunning me.
  10. don't be redickyouluss-you're one of the greatest living Americans,eh?..they might be talkin' about me...I dunno...
  11. ya know, there's a ZZ Top song called "Manic Mechanic". ZZ Top's one of my favorites!

  12. What I would do is get some undercoating in a spray can and apply at least 2 coats to the windshield. Be sure to allow at least 15 minutes drying time between each coat...and touch it up periodically...every few weeks anyway-but that's just me.
  13. just my little 2 cents-I drove cabovers for 10 years,'79 to '89-they do not run any hotter, they have as large or larger grill area than a conventional to cool the radiator, and just make sure there's no loose items like drink bottles or anvils in the sleeper when you jack the cab up and you'll be fine. I liked the ones I drove (IH Transtars,GMC Astros,F-model Macks,K100 Kenworths)and didn't want the first conventional cab (T800 Kenworth) I drove,but...time marches on, as they say. There are indeed storage boxes under the sleeper to store stuff in.
  14. wtf?..sometimes there's no other way to say it!..huh?..drive your effin f-150 right up yer ass!
  15. What's the deal with 16?..probably never go there, just curious-looks good, straight, and flat on the map.
  16. "a bfh and a long handle punch"...and you can fix anything. I had Super Sun tachs in my cars and mud bogger. Still got my dwell meter and timing light too, they're in the bottom part of my tool box, which is still in Appomattox in my father in law's shed.
  17. I posted the Florida map and a page came up that said "unable to connect to web server" so I thought it didn't post, so I did it again and it worked but it had posted the first time too.I edited the whole thing and made it into this post because I didn't see any way to delete one of them either.
  18. ...do you delete a post if you accidently post the same thing twice?
  19. could it be?..no one knows,but?..i'm just sayin'.
  20. just checked the atlas, all routes are restricted to trucks in Yellowstone except U.S.191. You could take 20 to 287 to 191 up into Montana. I've never been in the area so I don't know the roads but I bet it's beautiful country-take some pictures. I took a load of piling to Williston last year but I came from the east. Lots of sunflowers in North Dakota there,eh?
  21. I do not know, but I would think that if you own it and are using it for personal use and not for hire there shouldn't be any hassle. But i've thought wrong before. I'd give Paul Van Scott a call,he's a smart fellow and probably knows the rules better than I do.
  22. yes it would. Delivered to Boston Valley Terra Cotta,Orchard Park,New York. We go there pretty regularly, but this was the first time i'd been there since last winter when 219 was snow covered all the way. This time I was soaked with sweat by the time I got my tarps folded.
  23. Went all the way to Orchard Park, and all I saw was this Autocar But coming home today we saw this fine looking Peterbilt on rt. 24 between Concord and Rustburg. Took this out the back window of the pickup. And I tried to get a picture of a nice looking single axle Mack dump in Rainelle,W.V. but it didn't come out too good-good reflection of my orange vest though.
